Barack about Middle East:No Mercy for Weak

Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 1:11 am

An Interesting but true statement accidently made by Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak after Israel’s attack on Freedom Flotilla:

We need to always remember that we aren’t North America or Western Europe, we live in the Middle East, in a place where there is no mercy for the weak and there aren’t second chances for those who don’t defend themselves. You were fighting for your lives – I saw it, and I heard it from your commanders

Just imagine, a nuclear country like Israel claiming to be weak then imagine the state of Palestine how weaker it would be! And I agree with what Israeli DM said, this is what Palestinians feel too about themselves but the only difference is that their self defense is called terrorism while Israel’s self defense is appreciated.

Gaza Flotilla Massacre and Twitter’s wicked role

Monday, May 31, 2010 at 3:21 pm

This was not a scheduled post but it’s quite necessary to put it up.

Many of you would have read or heard that Militant IDF forces killed 10 Aid activists who were brining Aid for Palestinians. According to report, Pakistan’s top Anchor Talat Hussain is missing after attacks and so far no news received about him.

International community has been condemning Israel’s inhuman attack and not getting convinced by the lame reasons given by Israelites.

Not surprisingly , the popular micro blogging website Twitter has been not trending the tweets with hashtag #flotilla since people have been tweeting heavily under this hashtag and since it’s exposing israel’s real(and Inhuman) side thus Twitter is not letting this topic to be trended. If you search on twitter you will find massive tweets are being put under same hashtag. Trending topics are usually those who are being constantly referred by many people. Unfortunately like Facebook twitter is also busy to “Protect” Israel’s darker side.

If you want to register your protest, Just send a tweet to Twitter’s CEO Evan Williams http://twitter.com/ev and curse that guy for screwing up so called “Freedom of Speech” which is usually exercised against Muslims only.

So what people like Even Williams and Mark Zuckerberg are trying to tell Muslim world? that they are quite good in technology and can use or I say abuse it to protect or abuse anyone? Are they trying to tell that We Muslims are so weak that despite of all resources and talent we are so dependant on those who despise us? It seems so then Muslim world will have to come up with parallel technology which can be used to raise their voice. It’s quite necessary now!

Just found Official ID of IDF’s spokesman http://twitter.com/IDFSpokesperson

America priases Jihad and Jihadis

Monday, May 31, 2010 at 12:22 pm

Surely a bad news for Pakistan’s pseudo Liberals which would have given a heart attack to them. USoA, Yes, our “very own” USA’s President Obama has come up with new security policy in which he condemned using the terms like Islamists,Jihad or Jihadis in wrong way is unnacceptable. In short he reverted the attempts made by right wing President Mr.Bush.

From FOX NEWS:

The president’s top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a “legitimate tenet of Islam,” arguing that the term “jihadists” should not be used to describe America’s enemies.

Further he said, which was the most sensible thing I ever heard from a non-Muslim about Jihad, even our so called enlightened have no idea about it!

“Nor do we describe our enemy as ‘jihadists’ or ‘Islamists’ because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one’s community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men, women and children,” Brennan said.

For me it’s a surprise move. Though I am skeptic that how honestly would it be implemented but atleast their is a realization and knowledge about the religion itself. What brought the change? The current state of USA in Afghanistan or recession? Whatever it is, Obama seems to realize the reality that America’s anti-Islam propaganda is rather going against them. Take example of 9/11 incident more than a million people converted to Islam. That is, things are actually against the agenda;to declare Islam a terrorist religion. Now almost after a decade US Administration is thinking to make a shift in policy.

It would be interesting to see how our puppet Pakistani liberals would react. First America embraced Talibans and started negotiation with them and now this new security policy. What would be the new stance of these liberals. Though I consider them mentally impotent and would hardly stick on older(read current stance) for abusing the term Jihadists or Islamists and would change their stance as well but for sake of argument, if they go against US stance and continue to sing same song, how would they be accepted in USA itself.. or will they be used like they are today as a part of America’s double game on so called War on Terror and will continue their childish rants in their cyber constituencies only because in reality they are not acceptable in masses. Only time will tell. It would more entertaining to watch future proceedings.

Words which we can avoid

Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 1:05 am

Being a living it’s natural that we react. Whether it’s human or an animal, we have emotions hence emotion often lead us to react. We react differently in good mood than we react when we are angry. Anger usually makes one out of control thus often cause to do things which one would not do while in normal state. When you have responsibilities, you gotta be more cautious how to react because your actions would effect others as well. For instance if you are a father, your actions or reactions would be copied by your kids. It usually goes with a leader as well.

The most beautiful thing about Islam that it does not only emphasis on rituals but also talks about dealing different things of life according to Allah(SWT)’s orders. Just like Islam discussed about dealing with others, good governance and all that, Islam also highlights how to react when something good or bad happens in our life. Here I would be discussing with examples, mainly divided into two groups.

1- Bad reactions:

Usually when me or other Pakistanis react, they say bad words. For instance, I would admit that at times I have used severe bad words while expressing my anger against certain things like I used to use F* word, using masked swearing in desi style and other things. Though I avoid using typical desi slangs and “galian” now but often I say shit and F* word which comes out unintentionally which I could avoid or you could avoid as well. Some are given below.

- If you are used to say “Oh Shit” or F* word in reaction of something bad happens(e.g: reckless driving of others or someone ruined your mood), you could always replace such words with what Prophet Muhammad(saw) used to say:

الحمد لله على كل حال

Prophet Muhammad(saw) used to say this when usually get upset or sad. So next time when you are going to face something un pleasant, you can always recite above prayer. First it makes us feeling that we as humans re helpless and nothing is in our hand, second it teaches us sabr(patience) and ask us to be pleased with whatever Allah(SWT) wanted at that particular time

Similarly when some severe bad thing happens then usually we say,”Oh I got screwed!” or if we something is broken or hearing bad news we react as “Oh No” or “Oh Shit” etc etc. At that time you can pause and can say:

انّا للہ و انّا الیہ راجعون

(Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return)

Normally we recite the above dua when someone passes away but in reality this dua is for every bad incident happens in our life. So next time when you hear some bad news;even if something is broken by your kid or maid then instead of screaming out loud or lashing them out, you should read the above dua because what has to happen,it would happen anyway then why do you waste the opportunity to earn reward by Allah by saying bad words. First you lost the thing and then you lost the reward by using the bad word. So think again when using such words.

2- Good reactions:

It’s human nature that he gets out of control even if something good happens in his life. Infact he freaks out that often forget about surrounding. Different people have different ways to express their good moments, some start screaming while other starts crying or chant stuff like “Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!” and others. Being a Muslim we always believe that it was Allah’s blessings that something good happen in our life. The best way to pay respect to Allah is to thank Him just like we thank those who do good for us. Since Allah has ALL power, he could bring something bad too but instead gave us happy tidings so why not to thank Him? You can thank him simply by saying:

الحمد لله

By saying two words you just not earned rewards but also opened the door in future for yourself so that Allah could bless you more.

Similarly saying Assalam Alaikum instead of Hi is the best alternative because when you say Salam to someone else, he would return same to you. By doing this you got double reward; first you said salam which made Allah happy and He rewarded you, the person who replied you, gave you another dose of reward.

You see! how can alternatives of both good and bad moods can give you so many benefits? Do simple math that how much reward you can earn each day which can help you to save you at Judgement day when you might have lesser good deeds, such small deeds you do in life might help you that hour.

Do join the ranks of those which Allah(SWT) remembers as:

But very few of My servants are thankful(34:13)

So pray for me that I can implement these prayers fully in my life, I would pray for you. May Allah help us to save our imaan.Ameen

Facebook Ban: My Interview on ABN Chicago

Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 1:13 am

Many of you might have idea that beside my blog I discussed facebook issue on different forums as well. Since Pakistan’s blogsphere is so small that many bloggers and their readers are quite interlinked with each other. At times you don’t know who’s actually reading you or observing you because there are infinite people who just read and move on.

One of such reader, Shahran who is associated with Asian Broadcast Networking Chicago(ABN Chicago) contacted me regarding my stance on recent controversary about Facebook and reaction in Pakistan.

Though I would recommend you to listen entire show which is conducted by Ghazi Sahib in quite a unique way but I must say the way he read sponsors’ messages is quite interesting. I mean..being a food lover, I was tempted to visit the shops of sweets and other dishes which he mentioned. I think Ghazi sahib must think about getting into “voice over” business in Advertising world. :-)

So as I said, you should try to listen the entire show but if you are willing to listen what I said, the Facebook section started from 44th minute where Awab Alvi’s BBC Interview was broadcast then I was Invited. The interview spans from 44th minute to 65th minute which is covered in two different files, the rest of the interview got covered in first 6th minutes of Part-II. Both embedded and html links are given below. Whatever suits you, you may use it. If not interested to listen then play PAC-MAN. Sabahat bhai and a lady from Lahore were also part of the program.

Part-1

Part-II

Usually I avoid to appear in online shows because, as I wrote here that I don’t consider myself a blogger and ignored mails by BBC and others during CJ Saga and Lal Masjid Massacre but the way this ban by PTA is being highlighted, I thought to clear things further which I have been discussing for last few days. Thankful to Shahran for the invitation. It was a wonderful experience with you guys.

Facebook Ban:Absolute Freedom,where is it?

Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 5:01 pm

In my previous post I mentioned the ignorance of my Muslim fellows who were using abusive tone to register their protest against Facebook.

In this post I will discuss about another group which is not only using Islam and Muhammad(saw) for their own sake but also giving such lame reasons that I am amazed that how such people even dare to call themselves educated and intellectuals.

A group of people in Pakistan is opposing the ban. One stance emerges that only a certain URL should be banned while other say that LHC or Pakistan government has no right to ban it. Some consider it an attack on freedom of speech and we should have ignored it. Another lame idea came out that since media gave it coverage hence more people joined that blasphemous group. I have no feelings for your mom or sis because I am not associated with them, does this give me right to offend them?

Freedom of Speech should be given to every one. Right and no one should ignore it but one must need to know the difference between freedom of speech and freedom to insult. I have no right to insult your wife or mother by using the tool of freedom hence I am even violating human rights here.

The question is, is there any thing like Absolute Freedom in this world? Let’s be clear, there is no such thing like absolute freedom in this world. Even if you are asked to live in a remote island when no one else is lived and no law seems to bind you, you re still not free since your living style will be Dependant on your surrounding, weather and stuff you would need to survive. At that time you will even have to think and drink things which you usually abhor. According to Islamic point of view we are entirely dependant on Allah(SWT). Every living has to taste death. That’s what Quran tells us plus if there was the concept of absolute freedom then there would not be a concept of living in societies and colonies. Man is a social Animal, the saying of Aristotle teaches us that a person needs to take care and consider the feelings of others as well otherwise society will fall apart and there would be a big chaos.

If you notice, most of the offensive use of freedom of speech is exercised by those who follow no religion. Since they follow no religion hence they believe in faith that they are free to potty-mouth any religion. While I could consider anti-faith cabal respectable if they would have argued by putting forward solid points. Just because I don’t follow a religion it does not give me rights to ridicule it.

Facebook ban in Pakistan has been taken larger than life. Liberal Pakistanis have been considering this step a ban on their freedom of expression. They have been cursing PTA or what not.

Allow me to say that this is not first time PTA has blocked a controversial site. In past several sites have been blocked. Similarly Pakistan is not the only country where something is banned. China,Canada and various other countries where different kind of censorship has been imposed. In past few days I have been reading following argument to lift the ban on Facebook etc:

1 - It will hurt business and companies who use Facebook to arrange events:

The most funniest comment I ever read. Using facebook for business meetings? Can anyone tell me such stupid company which use Facebook for serious work like business? What happened to LinkedIn.com which is a site of professionals? Yeah if some college kids use it to arrange an event to watch latest movie then it’s something else but let’s not fool yourself by giving such stupid arguments.

Second it was said that it hurt many Pakistani freelancers who were in business of facebook apps. Well go thru comments on sites like Techcrunch. several developers endorsed the ban. Plus Google was banned in China, did China stop progressing. Youtube is banned in Mideast, are they not progressing

2- Ok we do approve the removal of page, why to ban entire thing? Internet is Free!

Well one must realize that this very ban is highly being supported by majority of Pakistanis. I personally know people who have removed their accounts. Yes removed! and they are continue to advocate others as well. Beside that, our intellectuals usually whine about Free Judiciary and treat CJ Iftikhar like a god so why same CJ and his Judiciary is not being accepted? does this mean our affiliation with judiciary is conditional and bias?

And those who are talking about free thing, do they believe PTA has just blocked Facebook and they did not ban anything in past? If it’s all about freedom then PTA has also blocked anti shia site like Haq Char Yaar, If it’s all about freedom then why am I not allowed to read about the history of shias here and read what actually they talk about? Why am I being stopped to visit the site. Similarly many anti-Qadyani and anti Shia content was blocked for Pakistan. Why did not any Shia or Qadyani protested to lift the ban for sake of freedom? Why does not use Muhammad(saw)’s teaching for such websites as well.?

Similarly pro Taliban groups and Alqaeda supporters want freedom for their sites as well then why US,Pakistan and other countries banned their site to spread hatred ? How come the Facebook is NOT spreading hatred while Alqeda guys are? Is it not irony that same facebook bans even breast feeding pics but not the pics which are offending a religion?

I think one must need to understand the hypocrisy and different definitions of a same thing. We usually give lecture about those things which are not dear for me and as soon as it’s related to me, i would forget all laws and philosophy. If majority of Pakistanis are happy with the ban then our democratic attitude should help us to accept the ban. Those people of other sects and faith who have condemning PTA to ban facebook should be thankful of same PTA which blocked several sites which could promote secterian differences.

I will end up this post with a mail sent by my former immediate boss. Do read it and tell me what would you do. Your action would just reflect your personality and upbringing.

Suppose, One day, one of your good friend announced that he is arranging a party for three days, in which he’ll make jokes and display cartoons of your father. What will be your response? Will you join the party? Will you Break Friendship just for three days of party OR Break Friendship forever.?

Off course if you love your father you will definitely not continue friendship with him and we love Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him) more than our parents. There is a saying of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) that “No one of you can become a perfect Muslim “Momin”, until he loves me more than his parents”.

Is it justifiable to block f@ce book and other sites involved in such blasphemous content publishing, just for ten days OR just to deactivate account for one day? How important these sites are in our life? And what we will miss if we DEACTIVATE the account? But if we did not DEACTIVATE the account one thing we surely miss is “SELF RESPECT

Facebook Ban:showing “e-love” for Prophet Muhammad(saw)

Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 1:08 pm

Many of you would be well aware about the recent sick attempt of MollyNorrs against our Prophet Muhammad. As expected, Pakistani youth which use facebook quite religiously started condemning the event Everybody Draw Muhammad Day. They reported the page as Blasphemeous but the Jewish Administration of Facebok yet they did not remove to exercise “freedom of speech”. Though facebook always removed Anti-Holocaust pages and why not? After all mark zuckerberg is a jew and after having threats, they removed anti-Holocaust page

As expected it triggered Muslim youth on facebook. They created an anti-”draw Muhammad day page” page where they asked other Muslim users to boycott Facebook for 3 days. Many of them joined the blasphemous page as well to register their protest.

We Muslims are quite emotional and usually we treat everything with same stick. As expected, many Muslims who might not even have read Muhammad(saw) in their entire life started using abusive words against those who was ridiculing Islam. To my surprise they even used F* word against those non-Muslims. In short they were treating this a street fight where you can use any kind of lingo to express your anger. Do you think they were actually showing love for the Prophet(saw)? Offcourse not! Since when did Prophet(saw) used such tone against His enemies.

Seeing all this, I was thinking whether these Muhammad Lovers ever got chance to learn about Muhammad(saw) in their lives? The other thought which came across my mind that, though ppl like Molly Norris and Lars Virks are yet non-Muslims and have legal excuses to do all this because they don’t know about Muhammad but ask yourself, Do you actually know about your own Prophet(SAW)? No, don’t tell me you read Him Islamiat and all that, did you actually try to find out what He preaches about? Oh wait, you try to run away from Muhammad every day when you don’t read Quran, feel bored to offer Salah.

Wait!! I am not advocating you to grow your beard but tell me, when did you last time tell your other Muslim brother about Islam or to non-Muslims about your own religion? Pass it on even if it’s a single verse, these words said by my Prophet, your Prophet in last sermon but you are preaching your “Love for Muhammad” by keeping your Facebook profile associated with movie and music celebrity. YOu are more interested in dating with women yet you claim to Love Muhammad? Duh!

Tell you honestly,Muhammd(saw) would have been more pleased if you would have offered 2 rakat Nafl and would have decided to follow Islam but No, at one side you are not willing to come out of your comfort zone and yet you claim to love Muhammad?

It is as lame as if you claim to love your parents and disobey them everytime. Will others not call you stupid? That’s what those non-Muslims are doing. They have been slapping on your faces ,my face and keep telling us that that the era has arrived which was already prophesied by Muhammad when He told his companions that a day will come when Muslims would be in abundance yet they would be very weak.

I have no issue if people are prefer to ban Facebook. After all it’s their right. As long as protest is peaceful, I am all for it but personally I was not in favor of ban because for a genuine reason.

My past 8 years experience of discussion with non-Muslims taught me that not ALL non-Muslims are crackpots. Many of them get no option but to follow radicals of their society and believe in what they tell about Islam. It’s like they have no exit door. If you reach to such people, they actually listen you. The condition is, you need to be calm and having a knowledge about what are you talking about. As I wrote here how engaging with non-Muslims helped me more to learn Islam than a religious school. So I was hoping same that’s why I even joined that blasphemous page and even started Dawah with these words:

Salam(peace) to All mankind. I am a Muslim and proud to be one! I belong to a religion which cares more for mankind than the God itself that’s why Islam cares more for human rights than submitting to rituals. Islam is a religion which provides way to help others. This is why Islam rewards when someone removes the stone from road or any obstacle. Islam rewards when someone gives a smile to his parents early in the morning. Islam rewards when someone give away his meal to the needy.

I agree that there are lots of confusions about Islam;due to some lame activities by crackpots and then propaganda by media. I believe most of you re good at heart and due to lack of knowledge you consider Islam is a threat.

Would you welcome a Muslim here? I am open for discussions. Share your thoughts

As expected, many greeted me with open hearts. Few contact me to know why Muslims re so excited about Muhammad. Some wanted to learn more about Islam. There are people who were abusing and threatening those non-Muslims and stupidly and ignorantly were proving their point of view that Islam is Violent.

Is Islam under threat or not safe? Offcourse not because Allah(SWT) already told that He would take care of His own religion. This is why today you see that in US Islam was spread more due to non-Muslims than Muslims. Bush’s 9/11 war turned America to a “Muslim America” since people who did not know about Islam started studying Quran and many embraced Islam too so I am least bothered about it. Allah has his own ways to spread His religion. The point is, on Judgement day Allah will ask you what you did for His religion. What would you say?umm something like.. God God! you know! I read Quran 50 times in my life and performed infinite Umrahs and Hajj in life and donated millions of Ruppees in form of Zakat. Do you think you impressed Allah? Offcourse not because.. what will you say when he will ask you whether you spread His deen and did what Muhammad said: Pass it on even if it’s a single verse.

I think we Muslims must realize that today we are ridiculing our Prophet(saw) more than non-Muslims. Allah would ask you more than those. It’s very simple. If your mom ask you to guard your little siblings in her absence and also leave a cousin or maid in home. Who got more responsibility? you or your maid or cousin to take care of your siblings? Same works with Islam. Being followers we have to be more responsible because we re Ummati of Muhammad rather than those non-Muslims. naturally Allah will get more mad on us than non-Muslims because we did not show up as a role model for outer world nor we preached Islam.

So next time when you get pumped up to show your love for Muhammad, look at yourself first whether you deserve to do that?

Mother is a mother

I don’t believe in something like “Mother’s Day” or any other Day but this picture in today’s Dawn is a good attempt to summarize the concept of “Mamta” that how an old age mother with several wrinkles on her face is busy to feed her special child.

Taliban takes the responsibility of Pakistani defeat against NewZealand

Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 11:52 am

This is how our liberal class would blame Taliban or Islam about anything which happens on Pakistani soil or by Pakistanis.

Thanks to shoaib for coming up with this master piece!
