What happened to Pakistani map?

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Like any other Pakistani news paper, Jang also published several pages about today’s election. While going thru the paper, I found a Pakistani map on the page which is very new for me because this map used to appear only in foriegn referrences.

This was new for me on Pakistani papers because since childhood we have been studying following map in text books specially in Pakistani Studies books.

As you can see in this map, Jammu and Kashmir is part of Pakistan’s map which is called as Occupied Kashmir in Pakistan while Pakistan’s Azad Kashmir is Indian’s Occupied Kashmir. India has always been shown this region as part of their map while I was used to of above Pakistani map while I was a student but this change is new for me, not sure it shows change in our so called Kashmir policy or… another sign of progessiveness?

Election 2008:Didn’t Imran Khan miss the chance?

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

While I was in Islamabad, I was asked by many colleagues about my “favorite” political party and asked whether I had any option for vote casting. Almost all of them said that they would not give vote to any one since Imran boycotted elections and they felt which I also second that Imran has missed the chance to gain more seats in 2008 elections.

Imran Khan has emerged as in influential leader after CJ Saga. He was heard more when he decided to take action against Altaf Hussain, the grand goon of Militant Qomi Movement(MQM).

Yes we all know that these elections would not be fair and free but how come this situation is different than 2002 elections when Imran also participated? I think Imran had more fan following than past after his courageous political steps. He was appreciated more when He was prisoned and activated students at LUMS and PU.

Endorsing all points and concerns raised by Imran, I still believe that Imran should not have missed this opportunity. Intentially or Unintentially he has given another chance to old professional looters to gain power and screw this country more. If Imran was decided to take part in tomorrow’s selection, I was definately going to vote him. Who should I vote? I have been given no option other than MQM, PPP,QAAF league and MMA. Indirectly or directly, Imran’s step is making me to be part of another corrupt government in Pakistan since my vote will be misused and more corrupt people will come into power. Sorry Imran but you missed the chance of winning Political World cup.

Enlightened fools by Ansar Abbasi

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

It’s been two weeks that I didn’t get chance to write anything. I was in Islamabad on official trip which was hectic, tense and frustrating. My mother got ill too which she didn’t tell while I was Islamabad and I have been seriously planning to switch the job due to it’s relocation nature and would prefer to have one which doesn’t involve travelling a lot due to my family issue. So all these things didn’t allow me to thnk anything and write here therefore I am just sharing a touching article  by Ansar Abbasi which published in The News. Thanks Tariq bhai who shared this via Gtalk.

So called enlightened souls a.k.a Liberals/Secularists never mis a chance to amaze me(and others). The articles in The News is another example of liberal fascism. From The News.

“Sir if you don’t mind we are looking for some moderate faces,” was the first words of an organiser that pierced through our ears as soon as we sat on a sofa in the school’s office where the crew of a private television channel had arrived to interview parents of three short-listed students, including my child, for some sort of show/competition in Karachi.

eh,Moderate faces? this is the term which sounds more funny than weired.  So I am a moderate face because I am a clean shaved person? I don’t shave daily, does it mean the other day I start aproaching towards conservatism? What kind of these(liberals/seculars) morons are? As I always say that leftist cult MUST GETRID OF filth among their own community first than preach others(the right wingers) so that one could take these whiners seriously.

“Don’t abuse our Ataturk otherwise..”-Secular style of freedom of expression

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

A liberal became a victim of Secularism. From BBC:

A Turkish court has handed down a 15-month suspended jail term to an academic found guilty of insulting the state’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

Professor Atilla had offended Turkishness a.ka Secularism by saying that early Turkish republic was not as progessive as it’s potrayed in textbooks. The statement was not tolerated by champions of freedom that is seculars & liberal govt and order to punish the professor to offend Ataturk’s vision.

Seculars and liberals always make lame attempts to prove themselves progressive, tolerant, modern and lover of freedom of expression. Seculars also don’t waste a minute to condemn their oponents i.e: those who follow religon and label them as extremist, fundamentalist or Mullah. Seculars also criticize their oponents as backward since they can’t face the criticism at all. Our made in Pakistan seculars even didn’t hesitate to label Jinnah as a secularist.

The professor further says:

I want to emphasise again and again that Turkey’s most pressing problem is freedom of expression

huh? no freedom in a SECULAR state? is he kidding?is it not true that seculars’ basic agenda to promote their relgion is Freedom of exrpression which they think was not provided by ANY religion thus promote seperation of church and state? Turkey is considered Vatican for Seculars and Liberals and they always sing praises of Turkey and always presented as ideal state where secularism is ACTUALLY implemented. So what if such things happen in Turkey and are not accepted by secularists. Hey! they still love freedom of expresion(about things which they despise) so if our in-house lefist can’t accept criticism then it should be ignored. itna chalta hay :-)

Such news have always proved my point that lefts who always promoted themselves champion of women rights, religions lovers and champion of freedom of expression are not less pathetic, moronic and fascist than those right wing guys who don’t like to listen oponents’ point of view. Pakistan needs to getrid of both kind of filth.

So my humble advice and request to all left-wingers(Seculars,Liberals,Humanist etc etc) here and there to first getrid of their own leftist fascist and extremist then come forward and criticize others to prove themselves a bit credible otherwise it’s darn funny and stupid to oppose something which they themselves promote one way or another.

Fatima tributes her Aunt Benazir

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

I often read Fatima Bhutto but didn’t take her seriously since most of her articles were about her Phuppo(aunt) Benazir. Fatima and her family always went against Mr and Mrs Zardari because they always considred Zardari responsible of killing Murtaza Bhutto. Her article Aunt Benazir’s false promise just reflect her anger against Zardari family.

Like others, I also saw those images in which she was crying on funeral of Benazir Bhutto. I was surprised. Maybe because I don’t know her or it was something unsual in Pakistani politics in which relationships are lesser important than Power that’s why Mumtaz Bhutto didn’t attend Ms.Bhutto’s funeral cermony OR Fatima belongs to generation which might want to getrid of old political tactics and prefer to keep relationship with humanity which doesn’t exist in Pakistani politics anymore.

Fatima’s latest tribute to her Aunt reflects another side of Fatima. She shares her personal memories with her late Aunt, her Wadi Buwa- I am quoting few lines which impressed me about her thoughts. I can just hope if every politician start thinking like her about his/her oponent? From Farewell to Wadi Bua :

I never agreed with her politics. I never did. I never agreed with those she kept around her, the political opportunists, hanger-ons, them. They repulse me.

I never agreed with her version of events. Never. But in death, in death perhaps there is a moment to call for calm. To say, enough. We have had enough. We cannot, and we will not, take anymore madness.

Bhutto’s assassination: Who are beneficiaries?

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

As I was expecting, Pakistani government didn’t disappoint me and just after 24+ hours they announced that assassination of Benazir was performed by whom? yeah by very famous Al-qaeda or talibans. Musharraf when made a public condolence on 27th December night on Benazir’s death and blamed terrorists to do this task, I had figure out that so called government’s investigation team is going to hide real criminals of this case and putting blame on someone else. This doesn’t mean I consider Alqaeda guys saints but govt should not believe that NOT everyone is so naive and dumb that buys whatever govt put forward to justify any act.

As expected(by me), our very own Adil Najam seconds what govt says despite of it’s not being believed by PPP itself. Adil writes about beneficiaries of BB’s death in New York Daily Times:

The only people who could possibly be smiling today are the terrorists who did this. All indications suggest that this is the handiwork of religious extremists who had been threatening such a reprisal and had made a first attempt at Bhutto’s life just a few months back.

Being an old memeber of his own blog and very much aware about his mindset, I was not surprised at all after read his op-ed. As I said somewhere else that blaming Al-qaeda sounds sweet for years but it doesn’t lead to truth.

As I replied in a moderated comment(so far) on his blog about ACTUAL beneficiaries of Benazir’s murder, I listed down few elements which would be feeling very satisfactory after elimination of B.B from Pakistani politics.

1)Musharaf: He was already under pressure and was forced to shake hands with BB which he never wanted. Also Mush knew that presence of Bhutto and her influence which we all witnessed in Karachi on 18th was scary for him since it was sure that Bhutto was not going to re-elect him anyway since Bhutto already experienced Leghari in her past era. While there is no more Bhutto, there is no need of any kind of deal anymore to stay in power plus Musharraf also successfully removed the trump card of US which could play main role in future Pakistani politics.

2)Chudharies: Pretty clear. PPP was the only threat for them. I remember what onc Shujat said in Hamir Mir’s “capital talk” that he could do anything which could HARM benazir and PPP so recent incident is severe shock for PPP.

3)Nawaz Sharif: Benazir and Sharif were rivals so naturally Sharif is quite satisfied now since He also knows that PML-Q is alive due to Musharraf and sooner or later He will be in power with great majority.

4)MQM: MQM always blamed PPP for mid 90s crisis. Also, MQM now contesting outside of Karachi as well including Sind therefore absence of Benazir would naturally benefit them to take more seats in SInd and make alliance with PML-Q and rule again.

5)Fazlur-Rahman: Must be dreaming for future P.M

Benazir Bhutto already blamed Musharraf when she was targeted first time back on 18th October which was not only denied by Benazir and her party but Mehsood as well who said his guys have no interest in killing of Bhutto. Benazir had written a letter to Musharraf after 1st attempt on 18th October in which she mentioned four names who are willing to take her life which includes Chudhary Parvaiz Elahi, Hamid Gul, former ISI chief, Ijaz Shah, head of IB and agencies. In a recent interview on NPR, marc segal, Benazir’s lobbiyst claimed that B.B sent her a message in which she asked him to reveal 5th name(suspecter murderer) if she’s killed and that name was none other than Musharraf.

In the light of all these developments and facts, I personally find no concrete advantage Al-qaeda could gain since they don’t do politics in Pakistan. Also, one should not forget that it’s MUSHARRAF who is in war with talibans and Alqaeda at the moment NOT Benazir so naturally Mehsood & Co must be more busy to assassinate Musharraf than Benazir who was not in power. Even if it was done by Mehsood & CO then it’s quite clear those militants were used by any or one of beneficiaries mentioned above so I don’t buy any lame theory given by Govt to hide the sins.

Yes if one prefers to live in fools’ paradise then could happily follow what’s being said by Govt or in media. Who cares?*shrug*

Bhutto’s death and SMS based rumors

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Asusual my mobile phone is filled with various SMS messages about current crisis. Several lame messages are being spread via mobiles like one which was spread was about making water supply to Karachi poisonous by mob at Gharoo which was later denied by chairman water board.

Though this is not a situation to have fun but just got an SMS which brought smile. Read following:

Hamid Karzai is the most disturbed person these days because last sentence Benazir said to him was see you soon and now he’s much worried about his future.

Please just don’t believe and spread every SMS you have been recieving these days.

Ms.Bhutto, no more

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Former P.M of Pakistan Ms.Bhutto expired last evening when she was targeted after her address at Liaquat Bagh,Rawalpindi. The same place where first Pakistani Minister Liaquat Ali Khan was also assassinated.According to online resources, she was killed by blasts plus two bullets hit her head and neck. Confirm details yet to come.

Ms.Bhutto had already blamed Musharraf and she was very much aware of her fate.

Though I can’t ignore what her party has done in Karachi in 90s. I can’t ignore how much corruption was done by her and her husband . I can’t forget what all I saw last night on roads of Karachi and I also can’t ignore that it was not only bhutto who died last evening, several others also injured but since theyy were ordinary people hence not mentioned nor they they are Shaheed but I also know she was also a mother of 3 kids who have lost their mother so I am sad for kids who have lost their mother.

The same Punjab Elahi(Ch.Pervaiz Elahi) who used to curse BB all the time was shedding crocodile’s tears and mourning. Duniya O Duniya Tera Jawab nahi

BBC made an effort to discuss her entire life in images which you can see here. More images are available on flickr about her life journey.

Also, Mark Steyn writes about her former neighbour, Ms.Bhutto:

As I always say when I’m asked about her, she was my next-door neighbor for a while - which affects a kind of intimacy, though in fact I knew her only for sidewalk pleasantries. She was beautiful and charming and sophisticated and smart and modern, and everything we in the west would like a Muslim leader to be - though in practice, as Pakistan’s Prime Minister, she was just another grubby wardheeler from one of the world’s most corrupt political classes.

Musharraf’s “Talibans” in action

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Our President General (Retardired) Pervaiz Musharraf despises Talibans and Talibanization and he has expressed his concerns numerous times in various interviews

What is Talibanization? West say something like following is an example of Talibanization and says Talibans mishandle women.

Now see the following picture:

The above picture was not shot in Afghanistan nor these guys are Talibans in *western* outfits. These are policemen who attacked on these poor ladies who were protesting for freedom of judiciary. Do you find any other difference? If picture in Afghanistan is an example of Talibanization then what’s that? Musharraf-ism? Which kind of Talibanzation Musharraf opposes? Somebody tell Musharraf that Talibanisation had already penetrated in Pakistan back in 1999 when he took the charge by kicking out another corrupt person from the country. Musharraf should be worried more about these local talibans a.k.a his advisors first before running after guys in shalwar Kameez and turbans.

Musharraf says:

Talibanization and extremism, however, represents a state of mind and requires more comprehensive, long-term strategy where military action must be combined with a political approach and socioeconomic development,” he added.

How true!! The picture above represents a state of mind. The practical example of liberal fascism and extremism.
