You can read about this burning issue here ,here and here

Just want to say that at one side our wannabe intellectuals and enlightened souls whine that Mullahs are corrupting young kids by forcing them to read about Islam at school level while on other hand they are busy in polluting the young minds by giving them sex education at age of 9 and 10. Can anyone please redefine Irony for me.

In urdu it’s said,”Kawa chala has ki chaal aur apni bhool gaya”

You may register your protest by visiting the website of the school.

Update: My reply to all those kids who are talking in favor of sex education

  1. Here is more to this ‘enlightening’(ment)of our young:July 11 2009 issue ‘Young Nation’ a magazine for kids from ‘Nation’,a Lahore English Daily, has this story titled ‘Ourgloriouspast’(in one word)about Imam Abu Hanifa. It opens like this: “Abu Hanifa Al-Numanibn Tabit, the greatest authority on MUHAMADAN CANON LAW,…
Sharia is being called as canon law.Even Wikkipedia is clear and most accurate in defining Sharia. In total contrast to the title, the article concludes like this:”Thereupon the Imam was thrown into a dark prison in 146 A.H.There he was poisoned and then died”.Mind you this was done by none other than another Muslim.

In the Aug 1 2009 issue of kids magazine of DAWN called ‘Young World’,a four column article with a two column picture describes in some detail a hindu ritual called ‘raksha bandhan’.

Most magazines meant for our children never explain the good that Islam has for our young, instead all trash stolen from western or Indian publications is splashed allover.

  2. Salamalaikum

Khan, JazakAllah khair for this. Is there a link for it? Dawn should be blasted for this. Their inboxes should be flooded by critical emails and demands for an apology and a correction as well. If there is a link please post it.

  3. I think we are also responsible for leaving the religion in the hands of the Mullahs. Why don’t we act as educated Muslims according to the Sunnah and not as fanatics? We sit back, silently glaring at the changing world around us but prefer not coming in front or taking a stand. We as educated Muslims should not let anyone destroy the basic tenants of Islam and the atmosphere in which we were brought up. I feel with the changing times it has become the responsibility of every individual to encourage good and negate evil. As long as we remain quiet about the things happening around us, we can’t promise a blessed place for our young ones. The parents should come forward and demand to be made part of the academics team, but the question is would we as responsible adults agree to one mutual decision or would such meetings only add an unnecessary burden on an already chaotic environment?

  4. Binte Ahmad

I agree that every Muslim must get proper Islamic education but I don;t agree with leaving the religion in the hands of Mullahs.

First of all, how do you define a Mullah? I would like to make your life easier. Google gives a good definition of Mullah and you can search it yourself. Second, are you saying that we should not get Islamic education from scholars and should not give attention to molvis? By that means, are you saying that your parents made a grave mistake that they sent you in a school then college and finally in a university? According to your theory ‘we should not leave ourselves in the hands of few teachers’. Why on earth do we waste so much money? Similarly, according to your theory Allah should not have sent all prophets and messengers since we could read holy books ourselves.

I think you need to learn the importance of mentors in our lives then you would understand why do we need molvis.

    Thanks for your visit.

  5. I always fail to understand one thing Why “Mullah” is always targeted I mean jab dekho people blame them for everything, loog khud deen jaanna nahin chahte, samajna nahin chahte, (Except few)”Mullah” kah pass jaatay hain nahin yet they blame them, if I remember tou DPS se pahle shayed kisi aur school main ka bhi yahan post tha kah wahan kisi sect ki taleem di jarahe hai? Are their parents sleeping, apnay bachoon ko pahle galat haaton main dete hain and they they criticize “Mullah”, har koi yahan khud ko deen main champion samajta hai kah us ko kisi sahi “Mullah” ki zaroorat nahin hai.

  6. Somebody rightly said “Mullah” ko shariyat aati hai tou Chemistry nahin aati aur jis ko Chemistry aati hai us ko Shariyat nahi aati, we will have to bridge the gap.

  7. jab kuch na milay to set hua wa image jo hai ussi mein thora tail daal k aag laga do!

that is how this country has been running for so many years!
and i fail to see any change!

  8. IBRAHIM,WaalaikumaSSalaam Please visit the respective sites of the nation.com.pk and dawn.com and check the old issues in their archives of the dates I mentioned.

  9. Mosque is an instituion which was not used as it should have been to educate us.It was left to the uneducated who destroyed the basic character of our religion. The result is what we have today. Most of the schools (madrasas) are run with no regular tutorial staff. The heads of such institutions have aquired property and expanded financially through ‘donations’ and side buisnesses. They do not offer prayers together nor are they well conversent with Islam.A few such characters visited me recently for ‘Tabligh’. They were from across the country.I asked them to explain in detail the contents of the Last Khutba of our Prophet SWS.They could not.I then asked them to give salient points. One of them gave one point which was incorrect. They were aged from over 20 to over 50.
My friends, Last Khutba is a complete instument which Prophet SWS left for us to follow. The most important advice which is never mentioned in any Khutba is: “Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.”

  10. @Khan: you have mentioned the last Sermon again and again and you said you know its “salient features”. Can you enlighten me what are those “salient” features which you are well aware?

    I am quite curious.

@AD: i could not get a bit of what you wrote in urdu. Can you write it in simple urdu or in English?

  11. Detailed contents are available on the net.Below is the English translation from a web site.Kindly write Urdu words you mention.I wrote madrasa which means school and Khutba which means Sermon.

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Last Sermon
This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H. in the ‘Uranah valley of Mount Arafat’ (in Mecca).

After praising, and thanking Allah he said:

“O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn ‘Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people”.

  13. khan saab, you yourself copied frm Islamicity website and expecting others to tell you “salient” features? Wah saab Wah.

Anyway, I quote the last para of the sermon:

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again

Mian, what the Prophet(saw) said is actually called “Tableegh” nd this is what they and many other groups are doing.

If I was at the place of that Tableeghi I would hve asked to 1)tell the salient features 2) How do you believe that you have faith in Allah.

    Kind regards,
