Future dies in Pakistan

Two horrible stories about two students who lost their lives in Karachi and Lahore. This is not the first time and I know it’s not last time either. Rulers will keep announcing about aiding the victims family and inquiry.
First News about Faiza Nadeem of NED University,Karachi.
Faiza, aged 20 and resident of Malir, died on the spot after falling down from a Karachi University (KU) bus while disembarking without telling the driver, when it had slowed down in order to take a u-turn. Resultantly, she slipped and was crushed under the wheels of the bus. The students that were present at the spot caught hold of the driver, Akhtar Hussain, who was later handed over to the police. Faiza’s dead body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. NED students launched a protest against the KU point driver, suspending classes for the day and blocking NIPA Chowrangi. Law enforcers arrived at the scene to control the unruly situation.

2nd news is about the LUMS student who was killed in a collision.
Waheeb and his friends were hit in the head-on collision and were rushed to hospital. Waheeb, a final year Bsc Economics student, could not be saved. His friend Majid was seriously injured and the other Suhaib is said to have suffered minor injuries.
Pakistan’s future is being killed everywhere; be it by a bus driver or by drone or suicide attacks.

Salamalaikum
This incident about the NED girl points to a wider problem in the society. The respect and honor shown to women has generally decreased. Now men openly compete with them at lines to pay bills and for the longest time have taken over the women’s section in the buses. The shopkeepers are now less courteous and so on and so forth. The muted response in Pakistan for Aafia Siddiqi is indictive of the same disease (and of other diseases in the society).
The buses should stop for all passengers to get off from them, but when you do not have the common decency to stop for a female and on top of that a muhajjabah (a woman who wears hijaab), then it’s even more shocking.
When Islam decreases in a society, as it has in Pakistan and other Muslim countries, then generally Allah takes away the sense of common decency as well, as a form of punishment. That’s why other non-Muslim societies at the surface look more muhazzab (civilized) when compared to Muslim societies. It’s so because when the Muslims decided to seek honor in something other than Islam, then Allah threw us to the depths of inhumanity.

@Ibrahim bhai: well said. It’s really pathetic that despite of having bus stops citizes have no manners and they do not utilize the facility. The current city govt have stalled very cool Bus stops but what I see that People still prefer to stand here and there. Now this is not Bus driver fault. He will stop where he will see lots of “Sawari”
@ Reshim: Ameen. Though I was not part of KU , you would have more idea why this happen? I have always seen point buses of KU and NED jam packed and I think it’s because these buses are cheap and students want cheaper mode of communication.
