Saturday Evening at Arena
Monday, February 23, 2009 at 12:55 am
Last evening I got chance to visit Arena first time. I had heard a lot about it due to Ice skating and other things but never got chance to make a special visit of the place(I am not so social plus I am lazy too).
As usual, my ex-colleagues (of last company) planned to have a gathering. Last time we gathered at Afridi Inn in November when one of our colleague was going UK and now we met again when he came back. :-). Though I always found best colleagues in my entire career but I got chance to spend more time with previous company guys because I spent most of the time with them due to my official Islamabad trips and it was realllllllllllllllllllllllllllly fun-tastic!
Khair..I had no plan to go Arena. The other colleagues were interested in Bowling while I was not but later I got ready to go there anyway and I realized that I did right! It was fun to do bowling there after 8 years! Last time I went Area 51 in 2001/2002 with my colleagues. After that I never got chance to go again.
Arena is a nice and economical place for both families and family-like families(boyfriends/girlfriends :P) . My office timings are till 3.00 PM and it could be tiring to go back to home and then visit Karsaz therefore I stayed late so that I could go along with my ex-Boss who works in a near by office.
Finally we reached at Arena around Maghrib time. All guys had gathered by Maghrib. We offered Maghrib within the premises and finally made an entry around 7.00 PM. The place was pretty crowded due to weekend. We were eight guys. Unlike other fellows I could not score much. Ek tu I was not good enough plus I played after looong time. Arena is much better place than Area 51 and those who have visited Area 51 and figure out why did I say that. Below is the picture of Bowling area at Arena.

We spent 2 hours there. Don’t ask my score. I don’t wana get e-embarrassed(in digital world) by telling you guys. Later we visited Ice-skating area. None of us had courage to give it a try. We had no plan to give others an excuse to laugh at us. Specially in front of kids
By 8:30 PM we were done with Bowling. All of us were starving. Some people wanted to go Salatin while few were willing to stay in near by areas as things were not so good last night in Karachi. Finally it was decided that we will go Muhamamd Ali Society. We reached to Whimpy Snacks which is on road opposite to Kaybees. It was first time I went there. The food was quite good specially Mutton Karrahi was awesome. Later we went KayBees for Icecream. We didn’t want to but there was no better option either.
Khair..it was a good and lovely Saturday for me, a thrilling one I must say and tiring as well.
Those who live in North Nazimabad/Nazimabad area, there is a news for them that Madni Mall,Hydery also provides Bowling facility. I myself have not seen it yet, I was just told by a colleague.

Nice
Wonder why you guys didn’t try out ice skating. It’s supposed to be fun BECAUSE you fall so many times!
