These holy men about friendship

Last night I got chance to meet my old school pals after 15 years. Yeah, fifteen. Yea we all are busy, one way or other in different parts of the world so physical meeting does not seem possible anymore. Actually it was still not possible if one of my class fellow would not have taken initiative to push everyone to gather at some place. He lives in UK and currently visiting family on Xmas holidays.
Finally we gathered at a place for coffee opposite to Hyderi(Most of us are from North Nazimabad). I was starving so I ordered a Beef Burger too. It was an interesting gathering. We all had been missing the days when there was no tension at all and had a free life. Actually we used to consider exams the biggest tension of life. Now it brings smile on my face that how silly we were but then we were kids, we had no idea about hardships of life. :-). Khair, we all were keep asking that Yaar wo kahan hay aaj kal or Falan k baray me bata hay kaha hay. Offcourse everyone was curious about minorities[girls] of our class and there whereabouts.
It was a one and half hour sitting and we all enjoyed it. My class fellow is going back on 11th of Jan and I hope we all would meet again.
While I continue to talk about my friends and friendship, few days back I came across some good sayings by holy men of Islam about friends and friendship. I hope you guys would love it and try to grasp them.
I looked at all friends, and did not find a better friend than safeguarding the tongue. I thought about all dresses, but did not find a better dress than piety. I thought of all types of good deeds, but did not find a better deed than offering good advice. I looked at all types of sustenance, but did not find a better sustenance than patience-Omar bin Khattab(RA)
Two friends are like two hands, one of which washes the other-Ali Bin Abi Talib(RA)
The person I like most is the one who points out my defects-Omar Bin Khattab(RA)
Unfortunate is the one who cannot gain a few sincere friends during his life and more unfortunate is the one who has gained them and then lost them (Through his deeds)-Ali Bin Abi Talib(RA)
The richest man of the world is the one who got sincere friends- Omar Bin Khattab(RA)
Who shall I take as my friend? He who knows you as you are, from whom you cannot hide your true self; in other words, Allah- Abu yazid Bastami(RA)
This might be my 3rd post about about friends and friendship. The reason I discuss it more now because I was unaware about the blessing of Allah which is not so common at all. Alhamdolillah since childhood I got some wonderful and sincere frineds who got ready to be with me in rainy days and never asked anything in return. It was my ignorance that I took it as granted while it’s like a gift of Allah. Specially I am more thankful of Allah that He gave me few friends in past couple of years who try to guide me in religious matters. So why should not I thank publicly. I’m not showing off. I hope my posts would help someone to understand the worth of friends and friendship.
