i’m not standing shoulder to shoulder with any of the gucci liberals. but i wonder about this war that is taking place on our territory.

why is it being fought? are we not supposed to take sides? i was comfortable opposing the war when it meant the removal of us troops, cuz i felt they were the reason the problems were happening.

but what now?

what about all these monsters that exist amongst us? did you create a banner after the kohat bombings? after the wah cantt bombings? why not? are the lives of people in FATA more valuable? is the US the only cowardly force of violence?

a common argument is that the ‘taliban/militants/terrorists’ are acting this way cuz their families were killed in air strikes. thats the same logic the americans use - that this is in revenge for 9/11. how can we condemn them if we employ their rationale?

are we against violence, or that violence which allows our anti-imperialist notions to feel justified. seems to me sometimes that islamic sympathy based activism of today is very much in the mould of socialist based activism of yesteryear. but maybe i’m a tactic.

@Khatmal: thanks for your first visit. I think it’s not good to conclude something about me by visiting an entry. No where I endorsed suicide bombing, yeah Unlike so called drawing room generated debaters, I rather preferred to find truth about whatever have been happening in Muslim world.

first your reason about US killing Muslims in Pakistan/Afganistan is quite lame. US invaded Iraq back in 1991, at that time there was no 9/11. Similarly US launched missile over Afghanistan in 1998, long before 9/11 which tempted elements like Osama to go against US.

sorry adnan, its fair i shouldn’t have been getting so personal,

i agree with the fact that the US invasions predated 9/11, i was just mentioning that such logic is of the imperialists, it shouldn’t be offered by us in return.

secondly, i admire the fact that you ARE actually doing something, even if i disagree with it.

but the point remains that we need to wake up. maybe this is not ‘our war’ but there is a war going on. and i personally don’t find any war honorable or just, and thus feel that those who are killing innocent people, regardless of their motivations, need to be ostracized. the danger is that our anti-US feelings, which for all pakistanis are very visceral, might prevent us from taking a stand against the people who cause suicide bombings etc, who in my opinion are just as heinous as the americans.

It must be noted that USA has made its habit of attacking weaker states and making them even more weak. Americans are known for their total dis-regard for human life and routinely kill people across the world. According to Noam Chomsky, past century (20th) America has been involved in around 100 wars. It is very clear USA wants to open yet another front called Pakistan war front. We condemn their attacks and wish to blow up American soldiers whenever and wherever found - INSHALLAH.
