   Salamalaikum

   Although there is no doubt that today’s TV is worse than before, let us not fool ourselves by thinking that the TV dramas of old were somehow Islamic. They were just as haram as today’s drama’s are. How could Subhani BaYunus and the woman, who are, I suppose, non-mahram, work together and be not observing hijaab? I just saw the first few seconds of the clip so I’m assuming there must have been some touching since he is palying the father! The TV of yesterday was the start of the slide that is in mid fall today and is going to go further down if we don’t get our acts together.

   Outside of news, religious programs, etc. any thing else that comes on TV is more or less haraam. Even news is a problem where woman are being made anchors to attract viewership. Let us not think that the society or TV or culture 20 years ago was in line with Islam. That’s not to say that what is going on today is not worst than before.
