Taliban warns Pakistani Newspapers to stop publishing vulgar Ads
Something I will fully support (without any violence). From Pakistan Today:
KHAR: A senior Taliban leader on Thursday warned national newspapers, particularly Aaj-Kal and Express, to stop publishing pictures of women which offend them. “I warn newspapers which are publishing photos [to stop] and have set a two-week deadline, otherwise we will boycott and take action against these papers,” Maulvi Faqir Muhammad, deputy head of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), told reporters. He said his militants would target government employees if the army takes action. “We will not retaliate against the army if we come under attack. We will target government employees in response to any army action,” he said. He did not elaborate what action the Taliban would take against the newspapers after the deadline expires. hasbanullah khan

باجوڑ ایجنسی (نمائندہ جنگ) تحریک طالبان پاکستان کے مرکزی نائب امیر مولانا فقیر محمد نے اخبارات میں فحش تصاویر کی اشاعت روکنے کیلئے دو ہفتوں کی ڈیڈ لائن دی ہے اور کہا ہے کہ اگر اخبارات نے فحش تصاویر بند نہ کیں تو اخبارات کے خلاف بائیکاٹ اور کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائیگی۔ جمعرات کے روز مقامی صحافیوں کے ایک وفد سے بات چیت کرتے ہوئے مولانا فقیر محمد نے کہا کہ پاکستان ایک اسلامی ملک ہے اور یہاں کے لوگ مسلمان اور حیادار لوگ ہیں لیکن چند ماہ سے پاکستان کے اخبارات نے فحش تصاویر شائع کرنے کا جو سلسلہ شروع کیا ہے یہ کسی اسلامی ملک کے اخبارات کے شایان شان نہیں اور نہ ہی یہ اسلامی معاشرے کے مطابق ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اخبارات میں فحش تصاویر کی اشاعت ملک میں فحاشی پھیلانے کی ایک سازش ہے اور اس کا مقصد ملک کے نوجوانوں کے اخلاق بگاڑنا ہیں۔ مولانا فقیر محمد نے فحش تصاویر شائع کرنے والے اخبارات کو خبردار کیا کہ فحش تصاویر شائع کرنے سے گریز کیا جائے اور اگر دو ہفتوں کے اندر اندر اخبارات نے فحش تصاویر کی اشاعت کا سلسلہ بند نہ کیا تو تحریک طالبان ان اخبارات کا نہ صرف بائیکاٹ کریں گے ساتھ ہی ان کے خلاف کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے گی۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں مولانا فقیر محمد نے کہا کہ تحریک طالبان پاکستان پرامن لوگ ہیں اور وہ ملک میں امن کا قیام چاہتے ہیں لیکن اگر حکومت نے طالبان کے خلاف کوئی کارروائی کی تو تحریک طالبان فوج کی بجائے حکومتی اہلکاروں کے خلاف کارروائی کریں گے۔ دریں اثناء تحریک طالبان پاکستان کے ترجمان مولوی عمر نے صحافیوں کو بتایا ہے کہ اورکزئی ایجنسی میں دوسکھوں کے اغوا میں ملوث ڈاکوؤں کو شریعت کے مطابق سزا دینے کے لئے جمعہ کے روز اورکزئی ایجنسی میں ایک قبائلی جرگہ منعقد ہورہا ہے جس میں ان ڈاکوؤں کے خلاف شریعت کے مطابق کارروائی کا فیصلہ کیا جائے گا۔
Newspapers and Mags have come out of their Pajamas and keep posting weired and lame pictures for sake of Advertisement. As long as their stance is violent free, I fully support it. This so called enlightenment (read fascism) movement needs to be stopped.

Looks like Saudi Arabia has too joined the rest of the Muslim world in trying to please the west and earn an MTV award. More than any thing else, they yearn to have a pat on the back and termed as *progressive*. The so-called *moderates* would turn upside down and twist every bit of religion to get an applause from the West.

apart from having two holy sites, there is nothing islamic in saudia. those who live in riyadh easily witness the difference between riyadh and cities like makkah and madinah.

Recently my cousin told me about this Aajkal newspaper and how people in his office start their way staring at it before beginning their work. I went to their website and the title “naye zamaanay ki nayee soch”, sounds pretty fishy as a backdoor propagandist work… ironically this is not “nayee soch” but punished soch…
is it possible to scan any single days’ paper and float it on the internet for the large community abroad?

In my opinion, this is over simplification. There are good and bad in every society. There is “more Islam” than just al-haramain in that country. The Quran is the only constitution (even if it’s not fully implemented), scholars still have some clout over some govt. ministries, vibrant scholarly (teaching, learning, dawah) environment from which even non-Saudis benefit, law and order one of the best in the world in part due to enforcement of hadd punishments, court system very just because all the “judges” are scholars, and most of all NO open practice of shirk and shirk-like bid’aat (this is a huge blessing from Allah).
Of course, the govt. is above law, which is a problem, and there are many social problems as well. I mention this so as to give a balance picture without sugar coating anything.
In today’s world, when Muslims have no desire to take time and read/learn about Islam and thus depend upon “summary” and jist of things, blanket statements like the one above are a means to give a false picture. Just a friendly advice.
Brother IUnknown’s point is oversimplistic as well although, of course, I can never disagree with his spirit, inshaAllah. Allah knows best.

آجکل اخبار کے آغاز کے ابتدائی دنوں میں میں نے والد صاحب سے کہا کہ وہ ایک اخبار بند کر کے اس کی جگہ آجکل لے کر آئیں بہت معیاری اخبار ہے۔ پہلے روز والد صاحب نے کمرے سے مجھے بلوایا اور کہا کہ وہ تمہارا اخبار رکھا ہے اٹھالو اور خبردار جو آئندہ مجھے یہ اخبار لانے کو کہا۔ میرے استفسار پر انہوں نے بتایا کہ ایک مرتبہ اخبار دیکھ لو اندازہ ہو جائے گا، کیا میں اس عمر میں اخبار والے سے یہ اخبار لیتے اچھا لگوں گا؟ مجھے جو شرمندگی اٹھانی پڑی اس کا اندازہ نہیں لگایا جا سکتا۔ ذرائع ابلاغ (الیکٹرانک و پرنٹ دونوں) کو ایک ضابطۂ اخلاق کا پابند بنایا جانا چاہیے، بالکل کھلی چھوٹ دینا بہت خطرناک ہوگا۔
