Woh Agaye Hain!!!

2nd E-idul Adha in 2007.

BTW, none of cows in picture would be less than Rs.30,000 at all.

I am not so fond of going Mandi to buy animals for Qurbani but whenever I went, I did enjoy. This is something which I think no guy would disagree who go Mandi to buy animal. I have been quite busy due to office work therefore I am not going with my cousins this time. Hope they would buy some good Janwar in reasonable price.

    Prices High, Pakistanis Share Udhiyah
    By Aamir Latif, IOL Correspondent

KARACHI — Grinding poverty and skyrocketing prices of sacrificial animals are forcing many Pakistanis to opt for mass sacrifice in `Eid Al-Adha, though the country’s major relief groups find that option more beneficial for the needy.

The prices of goat vary from 8,000 to 15,000 rupees. A share in a cow will cost Hussein 3500 rupees. “The buying capacity of the common people has reduced over the years.” A market survey conducted by IOL correspondent indicates that prices have doubled in the past month making many families of low-paid workers unable to purchase sacrificial animals. Ordinary cows are now being sold at between 25,000 and 35,000 rupees. The prices of goat vary from 8,000 to 15,000 rupees.

    Afghan Factor
The smuggling of livestock to Afghanistan, where slaughtered cattle are sold at double or triple the prices, has resulted in an acute shortage of cattle, particularly cows, sending prices sky high.

Edhi also believes that massive traffic jams and extending distances have made its difficult for people to find out and distribute the meat among the needy and the poor.
