Three Daily telegraph reporters got expelled by Pakistani Govt

From IHT:

Three reporters from Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper have been ordered to leave Pakistan in the next 72 hours for an editorial the paper ran that used an expletive in an allusion about President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, an official said Saturday

This is not the first time, Christina Lamb was expelled in2001 when she was working on story against ISI’s guys who were blamed to help Talibans by aiding them weapons.

Reuters says:

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan has ordered three journalists from British broadsheet the Daily Telegraph out of the country for using “foul and abusive” language about the country’s leadership, state television said on Saturday.

According to Pakistani Television Breaking News, foul language was used for both Pakistan and its leadership.

How true is that, I googled a bit about the root of all evil and found out the daily telegraph Editorial with title, Bankrupt RelationShip :

In the old parlance, General Pervez Musharraf is “our sonofabitch”. He has failed to stamp out extremist groups and close the madrassas that inspire them. He has allowed the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan to fall into the hands of assorted jihadis. And he has sacked independent-minded judges for fear that the Supreme Court declare illegal his re-election as president last month.

In short Telegraph blamed Musharraf to prmote terrorism by various means, also to create more instability and uncertainity by imposing ban on media, sacking Supreme Court judges and imposing Martial law. The reporters were not kicked out due to defaming of Pakistan. If Govt had any concern about Pakistan image, they would not have imposed emergency. My point get strenghtens further after reading comment by Imran Gardezi, Ministr press, Pakistan High commission:

The language used for the President of Pakistan in your leading article (”Bankrupt relationship”, November 9) is offensive and flouts the norms of decent journalism.

For a newspaper of The Daily Telegraph’s reputation to resort to such derogatory language is highly regrettable.

This deserves an apology

So it’s all about Musharraf, again.

son of a bitch is nothing as compared to the remarks made by the US attorney general back in 90s that Pakistanis can sell their mothers for money , do u remember??

  3. admin Says:

So you are one of those who are regular on KMB. I don’t know why do you hide yourself. Maybe I know you, maybe you are one of many hundred silent readers of that website, anyways, it doesn’t bother me anyway.

The reason I removed was not *what some woman would think*, the reason I removed was advise of brother Ibrahim which I think was right. And I do talk about Islam but I am not a scholar. there is a difference between a learner and a teacher. I belong to first lot hence I can commit mistakes.

    hope i cleared.

  4. Farrukh Raza Says:

well, ISI may helped Taliban earlier.
but while saying this, the world should remember that ISI was not the only entity that helped Taliban. ISI had full support of PENTAGON to help Taliban when Russia attacked Afghanistan.

It was not ISI who created Taliban; it was USA who craeted Taliban for its vested interest, and now USA is blaming Pakistan for whatever is happening.

  5. admin Says:

I 100% agree with you Farrukh Sb.

  6. Naveed Says:

Farrukh, whatever You said i’m fully agree with but main point is did we learn any lesson?

    @mazaaq

I read your comments about the previous post and i wanted to reply you but my net got DC and when i connected agian the Post was deleted. So i thought it’s not good to start all that crap again, but after reading your comments here, i think it’s good for me to clear myself to you. My comment was the reply of your line “scream about the Islam”.you was very quick to point out Adnan’s post as the hypocracy because he scream about islam so much, but you forgot to mention the dual faces of those who don’t love to listen the screams about islam and Present thier “ROSHANKHIALI” freedom, liberation and empowerment of womens, but inside how much filthy they think about the womens. We all have our own sets of hypocracies you have your own, i have mine and may be adnan has its own, so it’s useless to raise fingers on one another. My intention was not to force you to agree with Adnan’s point of view.

Sorry Adnan, i started again but this is my last comment about that topic.

  7. admin Says:
