Eid gift for Pakistani MPs

ISLAMABAD: Senators and MNAs received a unique gift of 100 condoms each on the eve of Eidul Fitar from the Ministry of Population in a bid to encourage population control at the top level. “Yes, the condom packs have been distributed among the male parliamentarians. Each MP has been gifted a pack of condoms containing 100 condoms,” said an official of the ministry.

A PPP MP said:

I will take up the issue with the speaker and move a privilege motion if need be. We are all educated people and know the benefits of contraceptives, but this move is meant to humiliate the MPs

ehe Humiliate? :-)

I think if such step would have taken around 60-70 years ago then we wouldn’t have experienced politicians like Altaf, Benazir,Musharraf,Sharifs etc.

Anyways, the news is hilarious! :-). Secularism stupidity at its best!

  5. Really funny - but also symbolic, so understandable.

btw whats it got to do with secularism? and since when pakistan has become a secular state???

  6. tripple, pakistani govt is being a *wannabe Secular*

  7. Adnan, how’s distributing condoms a secular (or a wanna be secular) thing? how does it fit into any definition of secularism? pls don’t get me wrong, i’m just trying to point out that u r unnecessarily abusing the word secularism by attributing this act to it. if u don’t like secularism, pls be honest enough to attack it on merits.

  8. the condom thing is just to send message to outer world that “we are enlightened and moderator” no matter how much we tussle with religion.

Yes I don’t support Secularism for genuine reasons. I have also made post about it. Search “Secular” and you will find posts.
