Senetor Molana Hasan jaan got assassinated

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

Just heard in the news that Senetor Molana Hasan jaan has been assisinated in Peshawar-Inna Lillhaye Wainna Alhaye Rajioon. Senetor Jan was vice President of Fedreal of Marassahas(Wifaqul Madaris) was uncontroversial figure and was respected for all parties. Hasan Jaan also played role in negoation and dialogue between the govt and Lal masjid management during the crisis. According to The News:

Leader of JUI (F) and noted non-controversial religious scholar Maulana Hassan Jan was gunned down by unknown assailants in Wazir Bagh area after Iftari on Saturday in the jurisdiction of Yakkatoot Police Station.

Maulana had gone to the residence of a colleague in Wazir Bagh for solemnizing a Nikah. However, after Iftari as he left for offering Maghrib prayer, he was shot dead on way by the armed assailants. The killers managed to flee from the scene

I don’t know what could be the reason it could be the reaction of 15 soldiers killed who took part in Lal Masjid operation, the soldiers who were also found guilty in offending books of Quran Masjid and hadiths.

I had just heard his name before but last month I got chance to see him in masjid near to my office where he addressed in friday prayers. I didn’t know it was him neither I had seen him before but got impressed with his address. Later I found it was him. He was a good personality and very old. I don’t understand what someone would have got after killing him? But then maybe he was killed like Mufti Shamzai with the reason to give a shock to their followers.

Musharraf, who brand everyone against him a terrorist and extremist will never realize that killing someone else and then expecting roses is a foolish idea. I know Mush knows it well how will it goes now but then he has to stay in power too. As long as the game goes on, he would be in power because this is the only way he could fool to Americans, other wise he also knows his worth. He also knows what happened with Saddam. He had also played same game like Musharraf but then American always dispose off their  pals when they are not needed. Sooner or later, none of the tactics would work and ultimately he would taste the moments which were tasted by his old fellows because Allah says:

And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners (3:54)

First of all a very warm Welcome to Ramadan and my best wishes to all of you to outperform during this year’s Ramadan and make best efforts to earn as much reward (Sawab) as possible from the Creator and Sustainer - Allah SWT. I also request all of my Friends (myself included) to make a sincere Taubah (Repentance) and Determination for the future (immediate from now on) to live a life in accordance with the Holy Quran & Sunnah.

Ramadan Special: Invitation for Guest posts

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Some of you might know that I have been blogging for almost 2 years. During the last 2 years I was able to pull a handsome number of visitors though there was no such intention because I never blogged for getting more traffic or Adwords, this is why readership has been between 50-300/day. If I had to gain more and more traffic then I had an easy way out that is, start making posts against Islam or posts to make fun of Islam.

One of the best advantage of blogging is that you get in touch of your like minded people who sometimes like your work while other time they criticize. While criticism is part of healty discussion and progress, I have been lucky that fortunately I came acorss some very good people who are now like my friends and brother/sister like. They often give me advise on and off site and I always love it. Some of constant readers are so good in their own field and blogging then it always make me surprise what attracts them here.

I never claimed I run a Super Hit blog neither I have any such wish to earn fame in this particular field. All I know I blog because I want and I can close it or remove it whenever I want therefore you wouldn’t find any such efforts by me to advertise my blog for sake of gaining traffic.

As I said, blogging gave me some very good friends. Some of them are already well-known due to their blogging. Sometimes I wish I start a feature of guest blogging and request some good bloggers to share their thought on my blog as well. They are too good in their own professional field as well as about politics and religion which I discuss most of the time on my blog.

Some of my friends gave me honor when they said they want to participate as well but neither I approached seriously nor my friends.

On the occasion of Ramadan, I am willing that my friends who have been readers of my blog as well other respectable visitors/commenters to use my platform to share their own thoughts about their perception about Ramadan or Islam.

So, why did I decide to do this? AS I said ,not for gaining traffic. I have few very basic and genuine reasons. 1) Some of them maintain their own blog which is based on particular theme like technology or cricket while some of them tried to maintain blogging in Urdu

Since I am often in touch with them via emails, I always asked them or I say got mad at them that why the hell they never tried to write about Islam while they know more about religion than me? What keeps them away? Look, when professionals will not come forward then psuedo intellectuals like me would keep struggling to do something which sometimes lead to some disaster. I have some good friends in Islam and Mashallah they have such an awesome knowledge about Islam that I wonder why they keep it inside. I asked them and they also has a typical answer, I am busy, yaar we all re busy someway or other but it shouldn’t be an excuse to keep things inside which were not even kept inside by Allah and He revealed in the form of Universe, then Prophets and then QUran and Islam. When The creator was not hesitant then why do you people shy away and waste your energy and time on other matters only? So, like anyone looks towards his friends first, I also see towards them and can just hope that they would take my call serious and try to say something on my blog Fi Sabilillah. I can understand that maintaing a seperate blog is not an easy task if you are going to target serious audiance otheriwse I have seen lame blogs in which people discuss what they did in the whole day as if other cares? Atleast I don’t like such blogs.

So my blog is now open for all such people who wants to say something but don’t have much time to maintain a blog. It’s also for those who are hesitant to say something due to their writing power. When I can write in borken language then why not you?

What is Ramdan Special?

Anything about Ramadan rather only typical lectures which you can find everywhere on Internet. You can share:

  • What is Ramadan for you and how does it make difference for you(if it does)
  • Any Islamic lecture from your favorite scholars in Audio, video or text format. For instance I like Tariq Jamil Sb(Db) so I often upload his Mp3s. If you like someone else then do share it.
  • Some good Iftar recipie? :-)
  • Anything which you want to share about Islam or Ramadan or even your experience about both.

These were few things which were in my mind. Offcourse you can share variety of things. I would also encourage silent readers to come forward and say something. I would try my best to publish as much as I can. You can write in English,Sindhi,Urdu, Punjabi, whatever suits you.

In order to contact me, mail me at kadnan(at)gmail(dot)com. Send me your stuff here with your name and title of the post.

I will also be making Ramadan related posts . Last year I made few posts on same subject and Inshallah I will edit them and add under the category of Ramadan for easy search.

I definately want some fresh blood (as they say in Cricket :D)

Ramadan’s TODO list

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I had been planning to comeup with a post about little things which we usually ignore in Ramadan but leave great impact(both positive and negative). Fortunately I came across an excellent list of activities which we could do during Ramadan. Read below:

  1. Make Duaa (supplication) - Ask Allah to make this the most awesome, spiritually uplifting Ramadhan you’ve ever had. Only He can make it happen and relying on Him completely is the key to getting the best out of Ramadhan. Make Duaa for yourself, your family. your neighbourhood, your community and the Ummah. Ask Allah to forgive your your past, present and future sins and finally make Duaa for all the poor and unfortunate people in this world.
  2. Quiet your mind, turn off the… TV, Internet, radio, mobile phone, iPod, etc. No, not all day, but for at least 10 minutes a day. Find a quiet place, close your eyes and connect with God. At first, your mind will swirl with the useless and not-so-useless info in your head. But force it to think of three things in these few minutes, Allah, your purpose in life, are you living your life on purpose? Do this every day of Ramadhan if you can. If that’s not possible, try it at least three times a week.
  3. Learn about great Muslims - Even if you’ve read it before, read or listen to Abdul Wahid Hamid’s “Companions of the Prophet” or Anwar Al Awlaki’s “Lives of the Prophet” this Ramadhan. Read about or listen to the story of a Companion daily. Well-written and short, this is a wonderful way to see how other Muslims retained their strength of faith against incredible odds. A sure-fire spirituality booster.
  4. Connect to the Quran - The Quran is God’s way of talking to us. It’s one of the most important keys to spiritual upliftment. This Ramadhan, connect to the Quran in a new way. If you already read Quran regularly, perhaps you can choose a new theme to focus on or select a Surah you haven’t read in a while. If you don’t read Quran regularly, maybe you can read just two minutes of Quran a day, reading only from the first page you encounter when you open up the Book. In addition, try to keep a Quranic journal to record your reflections, questions, thoughts, etc. about what you’ve read.
  5. Take care of others - Whether it’s someone who’s away from their family, a person who’s having problems with a spouse or their kids or a fellow student struggling with their grades, make an extra effort this Ramadhan to help others out. The spiritual boost you get in return is well worth it.
  6. Feed the hungry - While your stomach shrieks in protest, give that panhandler some change, volunteer at a soup kitchen, get involved with your local food pantry or make a couple of bag lunches to give to the hungry you meet on your way to school or work.
  7. Give up one lifelong bad habit - Ask yourself what some of your defining traits are. Then decide which is the worst of them. Is it a hot temper? Apathy? Laziness? Impatience? Whatever it is, use this Ramadhan to put an end to it. Practice the opposite of your bad habit every day until the end of the month. By then Insha Allah, you’ll look back and be amazed at what a change you’ve made for the better.
  8. Use those Nights of Power - The last ten nights or Ramadhan aren’t called the Nights of Power for nothing. Use these precious times for deep, heartfelt Duaa (supplication), self-analysis, reflection and serious thought.

I would add one point in it; Stop staring! and this for both boys and girls. I know that it might not be an easy task for many people but it’s not impossible. Trust me that does make a difference in your prayers. :-)

MQM goons hijacked Sind High Court

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

MQM goons a.k.a BhaiLog hijacked the SHC when suo moto inquiry about 12th May 2007 incident was supported to proceed. According to Dawn:

KARACHI, Sept 10: The Sindh High Court adjourned on Monday the suo motu inquiry into May 12 events for a week because of a massive gathering of workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

“The proceedings are being adjourned under compelling circumstances,” said a seven-member bench in a brief order after noting the request of lawyers appearing from the two sides.

Jang reports that several unidentified armed men were found in and around of SHC and police asusual acted like a silent spectator and did nothing:

So 10th September was the day when Judiciary was hijacked twice in Pakistan. First in the morning when Fedral govt kicked nawaz Sharif out and then later MQM goons repeated same in Karachi. It’s not clear whether MQM was following fedral govt or fedral govt followed MQM(Ref:12th May 2007).

But MQM’s vetran goon Kunwar Khalid Yunus denied such allegation and said that they as citizen came to hear the proceedings. Vetran goon further expressed typical Mullah phobia and said that this didn’t happen 1st time and in past mullahs’ friends from madraessahs used to do same when things went against them. Khalid couldn’t give a satisfactory answer when he was asked whether he was following alleged mullahs? I was quite amused after reading statement of Khalid. At one side his party condemn every religious party in Pakistan and declare them terrorist while on other hand they follow them.

MQM and Musharraf have been doing one mistake after other. It seems no sane and wise man has left in MQM which advise them that such tactics are proving them more guilty. Incase if MQM is banned, the goons will start another bloody movement in Karachi and will make us suffer more. On other hand, CJ is determined to give justice no matter what.

So who’s suffering?

Monday, September 10th, 2007

Sharif landed, arrested and deported. Musharraf stayed in his office while Nawaz either stayed in plane or in lounge then forced to send back to Saudia. All were having fun time. Who suffered then?See yourself?

Do you recognize them? yeah, these are our ignorant and stupid awam who are being fooled by politicians(a person who fool others regardlss of his background;military, fudal, religious etc).

I don’t know when will our awam get serious to act wisely.
