From India with love- worth of Pakistani celebrities

I don’t get surprised anymore when I hear such news. According to this news:

New Delhi — Noted Pakistani filmmaker Hasan Zaidi was thrown out by a Mumbai hotel on Monday for bearing his country’s citizenship but he said on Thursday that the city remained a home for him with many warm friends.

Hasan Zaidi

But later hotle establishment apologized for this behaviour. If you ask me, I say he deserved it! Why? quite obvious- HE went India not US. How do we forget easily that so many incidents happening around just prove again and again that India and Pakistan can only be rivals;not good friends or even neighbors. The way our so called pro-friendship freaks keep visiting India by ignoring the attitude of Indian media is quite disturbing. What kind of roles were given to Pakistani actors like Javed Shaikh, Qavi and Aurangzeb leghari were so embarassing that I was surprised that how come those BIG actors got agreed to work for such characters? I don’t know the movie but in a movie, an Indian actor Jimmy shergill spits on face of Aurangzeb Leghari. In same movie, the other actor Qavi is pushed on cow’s shit(Gobar). I know these were just characters but were they not free to reject them? On other hand, those Pakistani actors ,good actors were guests in India, instead of giving some sane role, they offered such offensive role to those Pakistani actors. But wait! I am not going to blame India, the real morons here are people like Qavi,Leghari and Shaikh who get ready to work on such characters just because they could get into Indian movie world.

Back to Hasan’s incident. Let’s assume that it was just an incident which was later apologized but the point which annoyed me a lot was given below:

The filmmaker had arrived from Karachi on Monday and checked into a hotel where he was booked by a colleague from Mumbai. “I had barely entered my room when they sent for my passport and said they didn’t put up Pakistanis or Bangladeshis.”

The erring hotel manager later informed him that several other hotels in Mumbai followed a similar policy towards Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. The two countries have figured as suspects in recent blasts in the city. But there is a communal angle too, prompted by the power that the rightwing Shiv Sena wields there.

Shouldn’t we have followed similar policy due to involvement of RAW in several Pakistani incident and force Indians to either stay on roads or just get out? We didn’t do this. What we did is enough to show how do we treat our neighbors.

Don’t get me wrong, I have No issue if things go well between India and Pakistan. Infact nobody would have issue with it. What I actually believe that this frinedship should be bi-directional rather Pakistan just keep making efforts. Taali do haath se bajti hey ek hath se sirf chammat parta hay jaise Pakistan ko parta hay. I also tell you that I have few good Indian friends and I communicate with them daily. Infact this blog of mine was setup by my dear Indian friend Kumar Chetan. That’s another story that the way we started communicated with each other was typical like any convo between an Indian and Pakistani but thankfully it become good with the passage of time. I knew another Indian friend in south africa who also used to believe that, We don’t need Kashmir and it’s for kashmiris.

So, I don’t say tht every Indian is fanatic. The point is, when it’s said that there is disturbance between govts only doesn’t seem apt. When there such hotel policies then how could things go better? I don’t know at all! maybe my Indian friend or some other Indian could explain it?

yes i agree with you that friendship must be as u said bidirectional. I really dont know what the hell happened but you see we both belong to same race that have same crab mentality. So In My Honest Opinion IMHO just dont give an ear to these incidents. That hotel manager did appologise and I know that wont sooth you but this is the way things happen. Har love story me koi na koi villian hota hai. Use apna kirdar nibhane do.
Rahi baat movies ki, to mere dost Bollywood movies sirf masala movies hoti hain, Sunny Deol ki kai movies sirf and sirf Anti Pakistani image ki wajah se chali, read the line again, kai saari nahi. Akal Hindustanio ko bhi hai and akal Pakistanio ko bhi hai lekin na wo samjte hain na ye. By the way, did you notice Rauf Laila was selected INDIAN Laughter Champion by Indian Audience and Indian Selecters. Rauf Laila is a Pakistani artist.
    Cheer up friend.
Subah se pehle raat hi aati hai.

well it takes two to tango and honestly Pakistan need to make more effort. its the fault of our own people.. we scare other countries so much that they are reluctant to keep us as their guests (like in the case of the hotel policy of no Pakistani and Bangladeshi) we have scared them so much that they dont want us around and a lot of Pakistani hotels also have similar policies!

  3. Muddasir Says:

Adnan Bhai this reminds me of what Feroz Khan (father of Fardeen Khan) did with our Fakhr-e-Alam back when Taj Mahal was launched in Lahore, and every star from our Film Fraternity was present at the moment and watched and listened his BS like silent spectators.

  4. Khushal Khan Says:

I know i have many indian friends and they always tend to help… but its all about the type of Education and mentality we get to develop. I was also having a bad attitude towards them but when i was cool they were cool… and hey its all about the local people and Politicians are bullshitters and Politics is bull shit… this wont end ~
Great post Adnan and have fun….~

  5. Kashif Says:

Adnan, on the contrary, I will recommend you to read recent article of Javed Ch. He is quite critic of our behaviour with performing artists, poets, writers, intellectuals etc and how indians welcome them with open hands and give them all respect and honour which should have been provided back home.

Showbiz people are all crap regardless of which side of border they exist. You know what Meera bai and sorts are doing. While some of the actors got smaller roles, Javed Sheikh is quite involved in Bollywood now and is getting big chunks with some of the leading cast. Also, our singers like Junoon, Strings, Atif etc are hit there.

There aren’t many complaints from people belonging to other walks of life who travel between Pakistan and India. As you said tali dono hath say bajti hay so if some of them have hostile attitudes, our side is also not short of such stories.

I know a person from Lahore who is in Bangalore these days, attending a training session and he is awe struck by the warm response he is getting there.

  6. CM-Chap Says:

Adnan… I truly respect ur feelings.. At the same time I wish to echo my humble opinion on this issue… Yup I’m from India

When it comes to people to people one on one… no one feels hatred… But due to whole list of past incidents the system demands to be the way u have written. I’m sure even the hotel manager as a person dont want to do it…but system demands it due to past incidents….

So whn it comes frm the nation’s perspective evrybody wish to follow the system for the simple reason they dnt want to take any risk.

I do hv pakistani collegue with me..but we have so much discuss and share…nothg to argue..as a person..But thats diff frm a country’s way of things

I thank everyone who made comments, specially Kumar since he’s my friend and I myself sent him the link.

as you guys would have noticed that the purpose of this rant was not typical anti-India bashing. What I wanted to say that if someone from here want to work in India then sure go but don’t try to twist facts or comeup with own interpretation JUST COZ he has to earn “Daal Roti” in India. There should be no hypocrisy. I didn’t like few statements by that old retard Meera just coz she had to earn something.

Why do we forget that if any Pakistani celebrity which landed 1st in India was Pakistani cricket team? How many Pakistani cricketers lost their dignity just to earn fame in India. Wasim,Waqar,Imran and many Pakistani stars are liked like Indian cricketers in India. Did any of them go retard and sell himself? Offcourse Not. wasim works for ESPN but today wasim is respected coz of his glory not because he begged to get work. That’s the whole point.

I thank CM Chap for making kind words. Glad to know he’s yet another Software engineer:)

  8. maliha siddiqui Says:

I think thats its not fair condemning those actors for thinking of them selves they are just looking for there best interest and trying to be famous .. here in Pakistan celebrities are treated like crap and in India a good actor is treated like a god … we should start appreciating our talents before condemning them .. most bollywood soundtracks are sung by Pakistani bands and artists that forced sonu nigam to quote that there is a lack of singers in India that our producers and dircetros are going to Pakistan, its exactly what our normal people do they immigrate to UK or the US to find a better living because there own country doesn’t provide them with what they need…

  9. Adnan Siddiqi Says:

Maliha your point is right but not with every case. How Meera and few other embarrassed us is not a hidden secret.

Qavi and few other ppl I mentioned were not being neglected in Pakistan. I don’t know why such people got agreed to offend themselves.

True that we have ignored our own talent which I also mentioned in past but here I am specifically talking about those who made some sick comments just for getting work in India.

Nobody says that they shouldnt work in India or anywhere else but they should remember their own worth and cash it rather begging in other country.

  10. Maryam Says:

    Asak Adnan,

Read your post, And cant help but writing something.

I am a Indian too, and dint like the way you presented India. Its not like that Adnan, If it would have been like that then many paskistani singers wouldnt have been entertained in india, and in various other challenges taking place.

Its in the hands of we youngsters not to pay heed to these things and think of each other as friends and not rivals,as you stated.I being a Indian, never considered a pakistani as a rival,i would really appreciate if you do the same.

  11. admin Says:

    Waslam

maryam, denying the news? eh funny.

Pls read again, i am not generalising. Havin experience of communicating several Indians, I do believe that if some Indians are good with Pakistanis then few are like who consider Pakistan as rivals. It would be better if we are honest with ourself. I could come up with infinite examples but then it would be nothing an endles argument. My rant doesn’t mean to show haterd against Indians. Being a member of family who migrated from India, I might realize more about it than others.

i have indian friends, the blog was setup by my Indian friend but if you say that I don’t call spade a spade then it’s just a unfair call.

  12. Maryam Says:

    DENYING ???? No way, !!!!!!

If you wanna call spade a spade then, you should have ven the ear to listen about what Pakistani’s did to us and the whole Muslim community.

  13. admin Says:

Oh pls what Pakistan did with Indian Muslims?

    - Was Pakistan involved in Gujrat riot?

-was pakistan involved in babri masjid involved?

    - is it PAKISTAN to be blamed recent riot against Muslims after T20 Final?

I was very much disappointed after experiencing the needless whining by Indian Muslims against Malik’s statements

Read my post about lame and useless whining by Indian Muslims.

    http://kadnan.com/blog/2007/09/30/maliks-controvery-whats-wrong-with-indians/

All I know that Indian Muslims have to prove their loyalty by cursing Pakistan. bitter but true.

  14. Creader Says:

Hi I am an Indian …an Indian Muslim..well Adnan is right I mean things are getting better..but its not just about showbiz….well showbiz people have media on their side and more influential frnds in their profession they can get their voice heard…Perhaps if some normal pakistani guy/gal came to work here..The guy would most definitely be victimised i mean some day or the other..Its like a bomb ticking…perhaps if he is lucky he will choose another country for as it is said Daal Roti…Adnan its not about countries its abt Religion…I mean then again this is because where I live gujarat that i seem to be a little negatively biased but thats how i have lived here..our people get taken off and prisoned for not much of a reason only the fact that they are muslims a.k.a. potential terrorists …Double standards will always exist..Then again its because we have to live here that we need to compromise so much in the place we are born and the place we love our motherland..Its this attachment and sometimes the majboori of not finding Dal Roti anywhere else..Saying and discussing things is easy…those who live it and face it know it better…All you will get is blamed but there will be human beings with families relying on them that will be murdered both Hindus and Muslims because all it takes is a Spark..
