Malik’s Controvery: What’s wrong with Indians?

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

It seems it has become a national habit of Indians to create a fuss out of anything which is associated with Pakistan and they try their level best to defame Pakistan by every means yet they say , we accept Pakistan from the bottom of heart, whether its Feroz Khan, Indian Parliment case, offending Pakistani director and now Shoaib’s statement after final of T20 between India and Pakistan. What Pakistani captain said was something like:

I want to thank you back home Pakistan and where the Muslim lives all over the world

Everyone specially in so called secular India got pissed when Malik assumed that Pakistan means Muslims of world. Offcourse Malik made a mistake but not intentional specially when level of English skills of Malik and former captains is not a hidden secret. The other important thing is that Pakistan won its 1st world cup in 1992 and that was month of Ramadan. Pakistani team was again playing finals in month of Ramadan which is a holy month for Muslims. Beside that, Indian muslims have always been blamed to support Pakistani due to religion factor and in past so many times Muslims suffered due to same reasons. Keeping in mind all such things, if one makes such stupid statement then it doesn’t look good from the nation who just won a cup. Instead of showing glory and enjoying moments, Indians got another excuse to defame Pakistan. First time I heard voices agianst Malik’s statment on a Pakistani left-wing website where few Pakistani minorities(as they claimed) and then Indians started making issue of it. Indian media started bullshiting like they did in past, giving the impression of so called secularism in India. The most lame and ignorant article was written by Amit Bhatta Charya of Times of India. He writes.

When Shoaib Malik was appointed captain, many watchers of Pakistan cricket had hoped that the show of faith would end. In fact, the overt display of faith has since stopped, but Malik’s stray remark indicates that religion continues to plays a role in the team.

What a MORON! The ignorant is just saying that Indian team is a faithless team(read secular). What’s he talking about? I can see Srishant making cross on chest after every wicket, Bhajji(HarbaJan Singh). Dravid and Tendulkar used to look towards sky and pray God about success and thanking Him.

When Ireland defeated us on St.Patrick’s Day, their captain associated the victory with their catholic religion. Nobody made a fuss about it in world that Irish didn’t take care of their minority because the religion that time was not Islam. if Pakistan had played the match on 25th December and had thanked Christians around the world then nobody was going to whine about it.

an Indian blogger who made a comment on one of my old post, says:

I fully understand that Islamic sentiments are thoroughly stuffed in their mindsets but heyy.. be careful dude !! Not all the Muslims ! Don’t ever say that. The Indian team had two Muslims playing for the country and they were just as happy as any other Indian Muslim all over the world at India’s victory. Don’t ever think all the Muslims in the world are supporting you.

Ms.Cuckoo was obviously referring the Pathan Brothers who played a major role in India victory but look what happened to those MUSLIM Indians. CricketNext says:

Narendra Modi ignores Pathan brothers:

New Delhi: It is raining money on Indian players for their glorious ICC Twenty20 World Championship triumph in South Africa.

But the two Pathan brothers - Yusu and Irfan - who brought glory to the country have been ignored by their home state Gujarat.

While every other state has announced rewards for their cricketers, Gujarat has not announced any award for the duo.

and Cuckoo is worried about Kenria. what would you say now? Worried about Keneria or about pathan brothers. Keneria didn’t even play the match while pathan brothers helped you Indians to won the match, yet not being taken care by your government? Shame on your secular government!!

This is not the first time Indian Muslims were treated like that. Recently Indian star Amitabh’s son got married. Amitabh who is a hardcore Hindu didn’t invite any famous Muslim actor whether it was Dilip Kumar(Yousuf Khan),Shahrukh,Aamir Saif Ali Khan, Feroz Khan’s family(yeah same Feroz who sang praises of India in Pakistan *grin*) because all of them were Maleech?. This is how Muslims re named by Hindus. Muslims like Dilip Kumar are forced to change their name for sake of earning success in India, so even selling their identity don’t give them much respect and I feel pitty for such filthy secular status in India.

I showed the news about Pathan brothers to my good friend KUmar and he asked me to ignore it While kumar doesn’t understand that people like me do want to ignore things which have been happening for last 60 years but when I see such instances from across the border then I get confused whether I should trust in words like ,Pakistanis are our friends, we accept Pakistan as a state, Indians and Pakistanis are brothers. Right now, there is not an excuse of politicians. People like Cuckoo are not politicians who are ordinary Indians and they minds have been polluted as well. I don’t like to discuss issues like Kashmir,India-Pak relationship or secterian stuff like Sunni/Shia on my blog because it just creates nedless heat on both side but when I see an organized propaganda for no reason and without taking care of filth on their own side, I am forced to lash out and expose the reality which those people don’t discuss.

As it’s said, preaching starts from Home, Instead of asking Pakistanis to be friends with you, be nice with you, convince some polluted minds in your own country and make then convince about what you ask us to believe. You guys have won the cup , enjoy the moments rather messing up things. You guys claim to be biggest democracy and economy in world, we also believe in that so please try to be big hearts rather big retards.

Update: One thing which I forgot to mention that people who criticized most were Indian Muslims in majority rather non-Muslims Indians. They on different forum reacted as their religion, their Musalmaniat was put at stake by Malik’s statement.  I wonder where were their Musalmaniat  when they were abused  by majority of India. I can sense because they would blame us for these riots however we shouldn’t be blamed for things they face in their country. It’s not Pakistani Muslims’ fault if Indian muslims have to get agreed on compromises like inter-religion marriages, changing their identities to get jobs, Meena Kumari and Dilip are examples of such thing, cursing Pakistan etc etc but call spade a spade. We didn’t force any Muslim to stay in India. Many of my relatives are in Delhi,Kanpur and Merruth. My dad is a Kaanpuriya. They stayed in India while my grandpa and dad and his brother migrated. Neither we say to our relatives they r fools that stay in India nor they say we made mistake that migrated to Pakistan. Fact of the matter is that muslims suffer on both side of border. If followers of  Kalam says that Pakistan was a mistake so it’s also said that Muslims in India sacrificied a lot to lead life.

Judges says, “Chacha Wardi pai Rakh”

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Judges of Supreme Court allows Musharraf to suck this country more for next term. According to Bloomberg:

Pakistan’s Supreme Court allowed President Pervez Musharraf to seek a second five-year term in an election next month, clearing the way for a key U.S. ally to extend his eight-year-old rule. Opposition leaders and lawyers said they will seek a review of the decision from the same court.

I was not surprised much when I heard few remarks by judges before the verdict that politicians themselves allowed Musharraf to stay in power by endorsing 17th ammendment. Keep this thing in mind that SC rejected the petititions and it didn’t mean they endorsed Musharraf’s tenure, a big difference. What it means that one could resubmit a new case against him by comingup with different points like h B.A degree, re-election for 3rd term etc. Since I am just amusing myself by playing with words as Ghalib said:

Dil ko behlanay ko Ghalib ye Khyal Acha hay

What’s next,I don’t know but I gotta firm my belief that a miserable end like any other dictator. IMO, God gave Musharraf a respectable chance to stay out of power but then what could we do when there is something else destined for him? *Shrug*- God bless Pakistan-Ameen.

Ramadan Self Renewal Process

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By Javeria Aqeel

A Man decided to become a wood cutter, he bought for himself a brand new saw and started his wood cutting business. He did extremely well in his new business and was able to fell many trees and earn a lot of profit. Time passed by but his business started declining.. the number of tress he was able to fell declined day by day…he was confused.. he was perturbed that what in the world was happening! How come he was so successful in the start?

Then a man came to him and told him..Look at your saw…it has become blunt due to constant usage.. you need to sharpen your saw, you need to revive it back to its previous glorious state of sharpness. This is your tool , your key to success. If your tool is blunt and weak how can you be successful?

This is the Principle of Self-Renewal. This is one of the Keys To Success, this is the 7th Habit of Highly Effective People as mentioned by Stephen R. Covey.

The 7 Habits are:

  • Habit 1: Be Proactive: Principles of Personal Vision
  • Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind: Principles of Personal Leadership
  • Habit 3: Put First Things First: Principles of Personal Management
  • Habit 4: Think Win/Win: Principles of Interpersonal Leadership
  • Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood: Principles of Empathetic Communication
  • Habit 6: Synergize: Principles of Creative Communication
  • Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw: Principles of Balanced Self-Renewal

About 7th Habit Stephen Covey says

Sharpen the Saw is the unique endowment of continuous improvement or self-renewal to overcome entropy. If you don’t constantly improve and renew yourself, you’ll fall into entropy, closed systems and styles. At one end of the continuum is entropy (everything breaks down), and the other end is continuous improvement, innovation, and refinement. On the continuum, you go from a condition of entropy to a condition of continuous renewal, improvement, innovation, and refinement.( Source)

It seems that the Muslims of today are struck in this Entropy. They are imprisoned in ritualistic worship and merely verbal declaration of Emaan. There is no improvement, no purification , no refinement and no increase of Emaan.

Fourteen hundred years ago, Allah Tala gave us the Glorious Quran and Muslims were expected to keep increasing their faith by it and therefore keep increasing and improving their Self and to keep purifying themselves.

Allah Tala says in Surah Tawbah Ayat 124:

And whenever there comes down a Sûrah (chapter from the Qur’ân), some of them (hypocrites) say: “Which of you has had his Faith increased by it?” As for those who believe, it has increased their Faith, and they rejoice.

Allah Tala says in Surah Al-Lail Ayat 17-18

And Al-Muttaqûn will be far removed from it (Hell). He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification

Allah Tala also gave us this month of Ramadan to Sharpen up our emaan, to revive our souls and to re-energize our faith and connection with Allah and to purify ourselves. Prophet Muhammad saw gave us the wisdom of Sayaam during the day and Qayaam during the night to keep us on our toes and to Renew Our Self totally by being on a training program day and night for 30 days. Allah Tala imprisoned the Shayateen to make it easy for us to do so.

Before the Start of Ramadan, i mentioned on my blog about a “Welcome Ramadan” lecture by Safiya Khan here.

I also introduced Safiya Khan in the following words:

Safiya Khan is one of the most talented students of Dr. Farhat Hashmi. Due to her great interest and knowledge in the subject of Psychology, she beautifully and eloquently explains the concepts of the Quran based on the human psychology. Being an avid reador of she explains how the Qur’an gave the best concepts about Successful people fourteen hundered years ago which, the success literature of today provides after years of research. She brings in a unique dimension in understanding the Qur’an..

Alhamdullilah, this lecture is now available as a small booklet called “Welcome Ramadan A Self Renewal Plan. For this lecture and booklet, She has used this concept of Self Renewal from Stephen Covey This booklet gives us the practical guidelines to implement this Self renewal Process Effectively in Ramadan. The Self Renewal Process by Stephen Covey incorporates 4 dimensions Soul Mind Body Heart..

“Human beings are not things needing to be motivated and controlled; they are four dimensionalbody, mind, heart, and spirit.” (Stephen Covey)

Safiya Khan has discussed these four dimensions with respect to Ramadan. What practical steps need to be taken to Renew these four dimensions in Ramadan. Read through the pdf booklet for more details. A very brief summary of the renewal plan is shown in the slide below taken from her Presentation.

Audio Lecture of “Welcome Ramadan” Lecture should be available online in a few days Inshallah.

Just like cutting trees with a blunt knife is impossible…similarly entering Jannah is impossible with a blunt, dead Emaan. If we refuse to utilize Ramadan for renewing our selves and our emaan, we are worst than a stupid wood cutter cutting trees with a terribly blunt knife.

You can download the complete lecture by Ms.Safiya Khan from here.

If you want to share anything related to Ramadan then you are most welcome to share on this blog. For details visit here.

T20: So,will history repeat itself?

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Same question but in different context.

Pakistan has maintained its track record of losing matches against India in Worldcup tournaments. Even in current T20 matches, Pakistan was defeated by India. So is Pakistan going to repeat history against India like they repeated against Kiwis in Semifinal? Let’s see! :-)

T20 Semifinal: Will history repeat itself?

Friday, September 21st, 2007

So Pakistan is going to play another Semi final against Kiwis. It was the month of Ramadan when Pakistan played Worldcup 92 Semifinal against Kiwis. It’s again a month of Ramadan and same teams will battle with each other again. I know that 15 years back Pakistanis were so excited and everyone was busy to pray for Pakistanis. I am not sure about what Pakistanis are thinking about tomorrow’s Semi. Regardless of what are they thinking, I can just hope Pakistan will repeat same performance which they did in 1992 when champs like Inzy,Moin and Miandad saved us and helped to reach in finals. Lets hope for the best!

Dr.AQ Khan goes SC against Musharraf

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

CJ Iftikhar’s one NO has really given hope to many Pakistanis. Out of them, the latest case would be of Mr.A.Q.Khan’s against Musharraf who forced him to say Sorry on National TV few years back and detained him illegally.

Musharraf who already has been facing lots of challenges within home might not be able to face this new battle field which Mr.Khan is willing to open against him. Dr.Atta-ur-Rahman met AQ Khan personally and tried to convince him NOT to go against Musharraf. According to daily times.

Atomic scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has decided to challenge his detention in the Supreme Court (SC) and has hired two Islamabad-based lawyers to fight his case, Geo news reported on Wednesday.

DT further says:

Dr Khan would directly nominate President Gen Pervez Musharraf in the petition. It said that President Musharraf would be accused of not keeping promises allegedly made to Dr Khan when he (Musharraf) asked him to confess to committing acts of nuclear proliferation on television.

I myself watched the address of our atomic Hero A.Q.Khan who was offended publicly by the dictator Musharraf to accept those sins as well which he had not committed at all. In Pakistan, those were not even called on TV who splitted Pakistan into two pieces and here the person who helped to make this corrupt country an atomic state was dragged to say sorry infront of Pakistanis.

Dr.Qadeer was accused in to involve in nuclear proliferation from Pakistan to Libya,Iran and North Korea. Obviously Qadeer couldn’t do it himself unless he had not support of Pakistani govt or Army but like past Army saved itself and sold Qadeer like they had sold Taliban in early 2000. During USSR-USA war, the talibans were heroes and Mujahids. Army earned lots of money in the names of these Mujahids but when the army saw that these people are not useful for them, they declared them terrorists. Same was done with Mr.A.Q Khan, he was darling of Army and other agencies from Bhutto era to 2000. Army would have backed him to smuggle the things from other countries to Pakistan to continue the nuclear program of Pakistan. When they got everything in their hand and saw that Iran and Libya are going to strangle them, they forced A.Q to confess every sins comitted by Army, politicians. The thing which hurts that he was forced to come on public TV. Why was it necessary? was it to offend and make him low infront of Pakistanis? if yes then it didn’t work. If it was for US and West then a single statement by Khan to satisfy West but none of the option worked at all. Neither Pakistanis stopped respecting him nor West accepted his apology and trusted Musharaf. They still demand to hand Khan over to West. Now Khan has literally pissed off. He already suffered cancer in past. He’s a human too and CJ Iftikhar has given him enough courage to come out and tell the truth. CJ Ifikhar already said that no matter what, he’s going to give justice to everyone who suffered. CJ will certainly give Khan’s case priority and would definately bring concerned people in courts. This is irking govt and now Musarraf forced another professor, Dr Ata to convince Khan to shutup. I am afraid that Musharraf or Army wouldn’t hesitate to kill him since he knows everything! All I can do is to pray for him. No doubt for me, he’s the second Jinnah after Mohammad Ali.

RAMADAN & WOMEN: OVERCOMING THE OBSTACLES TO SPIRITUAL SUCCESS

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Zainub Razvi

I was reading my Sound Vision Ramadan newsletter this morning when I came across a very relevant article on how women in Muslim societies generally tend to squander their Ramadans. The author complained how many Muslim women seem to miss the blessings of Ramadan because of the overemphasis on great food at Iftar time. While she attributed this to a lack of consideration for the needs of women, an interesting anecdote shared by friend revealed a rather disturbing trend:

She [author’s friend] was originally from Egypt, and she recounted how her mother and the women in her neighborhood actually competed with each other in Ramadan over food. In other words, they vied for the title of “maker of the best Ka’k (cookies) this side of Alexandria.” And this was despite the fact that male family members and even the Imam were encouraging women to share in the blessings of the month through prayer and mosque participation.

Instantly I couldn’t help but think how at least part of this held very true for women in my hometown Karachi, and Pakistan in general. Every Ramadan it’s almost as if everyone suddenly decides its time to indulge into some form of cooking extravaganza. TV channels all start dolling out tons of new cookery shows, women spend hours and hours before both Afrati and Sehri to prepare the most grand, most compelling menus ever and every restaurant in town tries to offer the most attractive deals possible.

As Eid approaches, invites for Iftarparties are thrown out by the dozens by socialites of all kinds. Ironically, as the month near draws close and the climax of its associated bounties approaches in the last week, Iftar party invitations will also reach their most hectic duration. And of course, I don’t even need point out how fruitfully some women utilize their taak ratein by spending entire nights at shopping malls.

In short, the whole purpose of Ramadan seems to get lost somewhere amidst a needless frenzy of overzealous cooking and shopping. Unlike the Egypitan women spoken of in the article earlier though, for a multitude of reasons, women in Pakistan have seemingly always been isolated from organised religion. Despite the emphasis laid by the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the benefits of attending Eid prayers (one hadith, related in al-Bukhari, has quoted the Prophet as commanding Eid prayers compulsory on all Muslims, including the slave women, the free women, the virgins, and even the menstruating women, whom the Prophet instructed to go out to the prayer area but refrain from praying, so they can witness the good of collective Muslim supplication and the Imam’s khutbah) we see that through out Pakistan and not just in Karachi this concept is unheard of. Similarly, despite the importance of taraweeh prayers (which are classified as a sunat-e-muakida by some scholars, i.e. a sunat the Prophet never abandoned at any time during his lifetime), only a handful of mosques will arrange for facilities for women to join in tarawah jamaats.

It is undeniable that a lot of women are, because of this misplaced notion of women’s role in religion, inevitably left with very few, if any, opportunities to maximize their rewards during Ramadan. But equally, some of us have no one but our self to blame. A lot of us do have the resources, the time and the chance to engage in these activities but yet we consider it wiser to de-prioritise them, and instead waste this unique month, by intentional choice, in either free reign shopping, just for the sake of it socializing or grandiose cooking, and in the process, defeating the whole concept behind fasting in the first place (that of controlling one’s worldly desires).

This Ramadan, let’s aim to remove our inner and outer obstacles to spiritual success, and utilize this blessed time in more productive ways then we have in the past. As the Sound Vision article advises, “ditch out any feelings of guilt, competition or jealousy we may have for other sisters” because of how fast or how much they can cook. Be ready to deal with the biggest outer obstacle to spiritual success: our families. “We love them and yes, their demands for food high in fat, salt and sugar can be indulged once in a while in Ramadan” but don’t let it distract you from the central purpose of this month. May Allah give us all the ability to best utilize this month. All the best for your self, and remember me in your prayers.

CSM apologizes Qazi Hussain Ahmad for their ignorance

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Christian Science Monitor(CSM) which is yet another propaganda paper against Islam demonstrated ignorance when they published a photo of Qazi Hussain Ahmad and label the picture as Taliban Leader. CSM later apologizes when Mr.Qazi filed a case against CSM. The article now says something like that.

Editor’s note:
A photo in the original version of this article misidentified Qazi Hussain Ahmad as Qari Hussain Ahmad, a Taliban leader. Qazi Hussain Ahmad is a political leader with no affiliation with the Taliban. The Monitor apologizes to Qazi Hussain Ahmad for our error

I am not surprised after reading that. When US is suffering from Islam or Taliban phobia and when they label every one in beard a member of Alqaeda. I think of American kid pees in his pant, they used to blame Osama for that. Same issue is in Pakistan as well. Seculars and Liberals who associate every issue in Pakistan with bearded men or Mullahs. Ignorace is bliss for sure but too much ignorance is a curse.

Ramadan1428:The father and the son

Monday, September 17th, 2007

A father who was not blessed with a child for many years ,reaches to older age. He prays for His future generation. Finally God hears Him and grants Him a child.

(37:100-101)

My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous. So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy

اے پروردگار مجھے (اولاد) عطا فرما (جو) سعادت مندوں میں سے (ہو)
تو ہم نے ان کو ایک نرم دل لڑکے کی خوشخبری دی

The child grewup a little. One day father saw a dream and discuss it with His son. THe boy was very young.
(37:102)

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, “O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think?

How the father would be feeling at that time. He got a son after several years of prayers and now He was being asked to sacrifice Him. The son was young. He should have been cried. But What son said?

(37:102)

O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast

انہوں نے کہا کہ ابا جو آپ کو حکم ہوا ہے وہی کیجیئے خدا نے چاہا تو آپ مجھے صابروں میں پایئے گا

Both father and son got agreed to fulfill the command of Allah.

(37:103)

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead

جب دونوں نے حکم مان لیا اور باپ نے بیٹے کو ماتھے کے بل لٹا دیا

Just Imagine! How the Father would be feeling at that time, going to sacrifice his son, going to lose Him forever. Do you have any doubt about the love between a father and son? In today’s world, a father gets agreed to steal things for sake of his kids so that his kid doesn’t suffer but the father I am discussing above was a great father and His son was a great Son. Both father and Son was agreed to fulfill what Their creator had asked Them. This was too much. Angels would also be getting surprised who said something like that upon creation of mankind when Allah informed them about His verdict.

(2:30)

when your Lord said to the angels, “Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority.” They said, “Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?”

What The father and son were going to do was unbelievable for everyone. Man is the creature of Allah which can’t be understood. THis is why Allah replied to His angels.

(2:30)

Indeed, I know that which you do not know.

میں وہ باتیں جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے

Indeed! Allah knew that His Obedient servants will fulfill His wish. When Allah saw this, He just gave glad tidings to both father and son.

(37:104)

We called to him, “O Abraham, You have fulfilled the vision.”

تو ہم نے ان کو پکارا کہ اے ابراہیم تم نے خواب کو سچا کر دکھایا

Offcourse when there are such creatures of Allah then He has to say something like:

(3:105)

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

ہم نیکوکاروں کو ایسا ہی بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں

This was the story of great Prohphet Abraham(aS) and His great Son Ismail(AS). Allah blessed their family so much that future generations produced great prophets including our beloved Muhmmad(saw). Offcourse Abraham(AS) deserved this status.

Now we look at ourselves. We also claim to be follower of same Allah. We as a father not willing to give our kids for sake of Allah. I am not talking about sacrifice like Abraham did. Neither Allah asks us such thing. He just asked us to give away our soul, quit our own wish and just obey Him. We rather prefer our kids to get addmissions in good private schools, we don’t care whether we re doing somethnig for his Akhirat or not. Neither we are such sons like Ismail(as) that even if our fathers ask us to recite Quran or go Masjid, we in return say, Parh loun ga na, aap ko kiya hay(I will pray, what’s your problem?) . Neither fathers are pure nor sons. Still we look towards Allah and expect His blessings and when nothing comes out, we start cursing that Allah is not listening us. How foolish we are! Our grand ancestor Abraham(as) and His Son(as) proved angels wrong by giving such sacrifice while on other hand we are just proving angels right. At one side we are disobeying Allah while on other hand we are offending His verdict, the verdict of creation of Human race. We commit double sin, still we expect good from Allah. Ain’t we stupid?
