Star of David on Pakistani flag?

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Recently GEO conducted a talk show on the occasion of 60th Birthday of India and Pakistan where guests from both sides attended the show. Dr. Shahid from Pakistan and Barkha Dutt of NDTV from India were hosts of the program called Hamaray Mutabiq.

The backstage was a TV screen showing flags of Pakistan and India . The Pakistani flag showed Star of David (Jewish sign) instead of the regular five-pointed star.

.

Star of DAVID is a religious symbol for Jews and this sign also exist on Israeli flag.

In case if you don’t remember Pakistani flag or never seen it:

Can you see the difference? Pakistani flag has five-pointed star while Star of David is a six-pointd star.

Now the question is, was it Intentional? If No the it’s a serious blunder by Geo TV and GEO should seek public apology because it’s like making a mockery of Pakistan infront of world otherwise people don’t seem to call GEO TV a Jew TV.

I wonder Dr.Shahid didn’t notice that who did several programs about Jewish(Read Zionists activities) in the world?

A member of naseeb.com posted the link of Youtube videos about the program. It’s weired! At first it looks that it’s a 5ponted star but infact it’s a 6-pointed star.

YAFM: You know you are in Karachi when

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

This is not new but since I read after a long time so I thought to share with my readers. Funny as well as bitter.

You know you are in Karachi, when

· A road with bumps and manholes still qualifies as a road.

· A short drive takes 25 minutes to get from A to B.

· Beggars travel in the local bus.

· Its December and you attend 5 mehndis / shaadis in one night and end up meeting the same people at each of them

· Sunday morning starts at 1 pm .

· There is no such thing as lunch.

· There is no such thing as over time yet everyone sits in their office till after 9 pm .

· To you wildlife means crows.

· Winter means the first 15 days of January.

· You actually go “out for coffee”

· You actually pray for the electricity to come back.

· You are afraid to go to a hospital because you might get a disease.

· You blame everything on K.E.S.C

· You can smell fish while driving and dont complain.

· You catagorize people as “burgers” or “melas”

· You dont take the police seriously at all.

· You feel you never have to wait in line if you are with “lay-diss” (ladies)

· You get shocked when someone stops at a yellow light

· You go to sleep listening to rickshaws and wake up to the sound of one.

· You have atleast 5 servings of some form of caffeine each day.

· You know you are in Karachi when there is two way traffic on a one way road.

· You know you are in Karachi if you cant go home when the president is in town.

· You ll go to the coolest place to eat but on your way back will want paan from the khoka.

· You make “missed calls”

· You never have dinner before 1am in shaadi season

· You never realized that North Nazimabad was actually in the North

· You never really know what to say when someone asks you what there is to see in Karachi

· You own either a Corolla or a Civic

· You roll down your car window and you can actually touch the car next to you

· You see street lights on during the day and not during the night.

· You still have some of Everest Videos movies and don’t plan to return them

· You think cows live on the streets.

· You think people are not cool if they havent been robbed atleast 3 times in their life.

· You use the phrases “whats the scene?”, “scene on hai”

· You go by landmarks not street names

· You know your city is a hole but you love it anyways

· You used to go for tutions even though didnt need them

· Your lungs have enough smoke to match a chain smoker.

· Your only argument in the Lahore / Karachi debate is “well we have a beach”

· Your school gets closed when it rains

· You’ve bought a DVD of a movie that hasn’t even been released yet

· You’ve given an exam at Regent Plaza

· You’ve met a Parsi

· You’ve never really seen a tourist

· You’ve always wondered what “khayaban” meant

· “I’m on Shahre Faisal” is always a valid excuse for arriving late.

· You say that you really like that restaurant / shop and someone says “oh yea, my family owns that”

Between YAFM means Yet Another Forward Mail  :-)

Ummah Films:Who hijacked my religion!!?

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Whenever I get time, I try to watch movies by Ummah Films. Baba Ali, an American Muslim convert, has been doing excellent job to expose different kind of evils in and out of Islam.

This movie talks about hypocrisy lie among non-Muslims as well in MUSLIMS.

Ali talks about so called moderate and liberal Muslims who spread crap in the name of Islam. About so called scholars who spread crap by using local media. Such crappy scholars and so called intellectuals also exist among us in form of Aamir Liaquat,Ghamidi and Shoaib Mansoor.

Also also expose the ignorance of non-Muslim world about Jihad and other things.

Do listen this guy,he does make sense and talks to the point.

Pakistan’s 60th Birthday- Pakistanis in the field of IT,a tribute

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Some of you might know that I am a computer engineer by profession therefore I always seek excuses to find more and more news about local IT activities and highlight those who felt us proud in the world by demonstrating their skills in the field of I.T and ready to utilize their skills for our society. This is the reason I maintain a seperate blog for technical rants.

Unlike India, we don’t hear much prominent achievements in the field of I.T by Pakistanis. There are few genuine reasons; lack of proper infrastructure and guidance, relatively new in the field of IT and not too much interest in the field of science and mathematics. Despite of all such obstacles, Pakistanis have tried their best to demonstrate their talent in the field of IT just like other Pakistanis have proved themselves in the field of medicine and others. On the occasion of 60th Birthday of Pakistan, I am trying to pay tribute to few Pakistanis who did make us proud in the world. I also admit that I have no full knowledge about other achievements by Pakistanis in the field of IT therefore If you find I am missing something, please do share with me by writing your comment.

1) Arfa Karim(Youngest MCP in the world)

This cute little lady is the youngest MCP(Microsoft Certified Profesional) in the world who passed MCP certification in C# when she was just 9 years old! yes NINE years! Arfa Karim belongs to faisalabad and very much Inerested to pursue career in the field of Software Engineering.

Arfa got more fame when she met Mr.Bill gates. Bill gates invited the little genius at Redmond, Washington. I covered related post in my technical blog which you can read here. Arfa also appeared in an interview which you can read/watch here. Best of Luck Arfa!!

2) (c)Brain(First computer virus): The term “virus” is not new anymore for anyone who have a little knowledge about computers. In layman’s language, virus is something which crashes your computer. But this term was not common back in early 80s. Usually virus is considered a source of destruction but as I always believe that a tool can’t be constructive or destructive itself, it’s only it’s usage which makes it good or bad. Same thing goes with Viruses/Trojans.

According to Wikipedia:

(c)Brain was written by two brothers, Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi, who lived in Chahmiran, Lahore, Pakistan. The brothers told TIME magazine they had written it to protect their medical software from piracy and it was supposed to target copyright infringers only

Ironically, the code was written for sake of stopping piracy while today we get pirated softwares very easily in any part of this country. 2006 was the year when the first virus become 20 years old. Currently there are thousands of different kinds of viruses ,Trojans floating across the Internet and ready to crash system(s). The founders of Brain virus later established an ISP called Brain net which I think doesn’t exist anymore.

3) Super Technologies(Innovative Telecom/VOIP products)

Super Technologies might be new name for many of you but atleast not for me since I was associated with this company for few days back in 2002 when I was hired for a VOIP project. At that time these people were working on their product Super Phone which was very popular in India and Pakistan due to cheapest call rates.

Recently I came across a blog entry on TeeEmm’s telecom blog in which he revealed SuperTec’s new product . Not a complete Pakistani product but still a big share by a Pakistani behind the idea. According to TeeEmm:

DIDX enables any telephone company to procure some cheap Internet bandwidth, host a box on that bandwidth, and start selling their telephone numbers to worldwide buyers. Since these numbers would be used by individuals seeking to ‘receive’ calls from the old telephony world to their voiped-up digital universe, there is a very high over-subscription that is possible because not everyone would be using the service all the time. Selling a million odd numbers via DIDX, for example, for $10 ea could give a juicy business figure to a lot many telecommunication companies especially outside North America.

These guys also tried to introduced a Pakistani version of Paypal but due to typical Red Rape obstacles and corruption couldn’t make it possible to launch in Pakistan.

4)Video Whale Project

Video Whale is the implementation of gStreamer framework for Multimedia which allows you to split a video screen and make it available on 16 TV screens. Zeeshan Khattak who belongs to Peshwar was the lead developer of this application.

I know zeeshan via PLUC, a Pakistani Linux User community which played a vital role to create awareness about linux among common people in Pakistan. The community was founded by Basit who was my university mate along with other guys like Uzair,Fawad Halim and Bilal Abdul Rahman. In late 90s, you couldn’t find Linux available in market and you had to make special arrangements to buy the CD. Now situation is very different and now you can easily ask for Linux CDs in Pakistan and shopkeepers give you CD by Distro name.

Sorry, i got distracted, asusual. Zeeshan’s application is very cool. It’s a cheap arrangement which provides you facility to watch video on wide screen(s) by using TV sets, PCs interconnected with LAN. This is how it looks like:

Cool! Isn’t It? Zeeshan is in now Finland and working for a company which make applications for Nokia. I would also like to add that I also contributed a bit in this project when I provided particular model used S3 Graphic cards which were not available in Peshawar. So it feels great that some how I was also part of it :-)

5)Scrybe(A Pakistani web 2.0 product)

Scrybe is prolly the first Pakistani Web 2.0 product which got world wide attention due to interesting idea. A flex based web product which gives you freedom to work even you are not online. From Official website:

a groundbreaking online organizer that caters to today’s lifestyle in a cohesive and intuitive way.

Recently was paid attention by LMKR and Adobe who are ready to fund the product(and company) for further enhancements as well as for new products. The thing which I actually liked much was clean and innovative GUI features which I didn’t discover in flash based applications. I wish best of luck to these guys and hope that they would keep giving us new and innovative products.

Apart from that, I came across a website which revealed that a Pakistani animation company got chance to work with Hollywood animators.

Update :

6)KarachiOS(Pakistan’s very own Operating system) : I just read on LinuxPakistan website about this great news.

According to Tariq Bhai aka Mahin:

On the 60th Independence day of Pakistan, LinuxPakistan Distro Project Team is pleased to make public its work on KarachiOS project.

Anjum Butt, the guy behind this project explains further:
In the name of Allah, the most merciful.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that on August 14th, 2007, we released the first public release of KOS (KarachiOS).

KarachiOS is the result of countless hours of devoted study, work and bug fixing.

Based on Debian sources, current release KarachiOS 1.0rc1 contains the following features:

* Linux Kernel 2.6.21
* X.org 7.2
* KDE 3.5.7
* KOffice
* Adept Package Management tool
* GnuPG 2.0 5
* Support for printers, scanners, digicams and webcams
* Wink
* VLC Media Player with native support for WMV files
* Amarok audio media player
* Support for legacy Windows Application via Wine
* LAMP Stack
* Apache 2
* MySQL 5.0.44
* PHP5
* WebERP for accounting
* Pre-release version of Badar Sami’s Urdu keyboard for touch typists
* Fonts for Arabic/Farsi/Urdu
* Adobe FlashPlayer 9
* Experimental support for wireless modems
* KPDF and KCHMViewer for viewing documents
* digiKam for digital camera and photo gallery management
* KOpete for Instant messaging with Yahoo and MSN Webcam support
* Skype 1.4beta
* Secure Remote Desktop access support using NX technology
* Viki (Onscreen Accessibility Keyboard)
* kbfx (Next generation KDE Lauch Menu)
* K3B for CD/DVD burning
* Builtin StartCom certificates

Indeed a great work! This distro is based on Debian Linux which also produced another great Distro Ubunto which is easy to use for non-technical people. A great pride for Karachi to come up first ever Pakistani distro, I might hesitate to call it first ever because Abdul Basit,the founder of Linux Pakistan created a smal distro PkLinux but he didn’t take it seriously. Basit was also a Karachiite. Since that distro doesn’t exist anymore plus not a full fledged distro therefore I would safely call KOS(KarachiOS), the first ever Linux distroof Pakistan

7)AST Computers(Safi Qureshi)

I heared about AST compuers first time when I was in 2nd semester of engineering course. I was further  told that it was founded by Safi Qureshi who was also a Karachiite. Safi’s company earned reputation in PC manufacturing industries. The company later acquired by Samsung electronics. Safi was later appointed as  a member of US President Bill Clinton’s export council. Safi was named by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to his transition team, to help him put together his new administration.

Safi is now associated with  Quartics which is involved in Wireless video technology which would take off your PC video content to any device including TV. An innovative approach I must say!

These were few success stories which were in my knowledge. Maybe I am missing some others, if yes then do let me know or if you are a blogger then please do mention it. This is the best thing we could for these talented people because unless we don’t appreciate them, they wouldn’t be able to produce better thing for us and others. I hope for more innovative ideas by local IT professionals which would make us more proud in the digital world. Pakistan Zindabad!

Jinnah wanted a Secular Pakistan, w00t??

Saturday, August 11th, 2007
Mr.M.A. Jinnah wanted a secular state and we know it because he wished that on 11th August 1947 speech

You would have read/heard something similar lots of time in papers,TV programs or what not in wich secular participants tried to convince that Jinnah wanted a secular Pakistan rather an Islamic state. Before I move further,let me quote the famous ambiguous speech of Mr.Jinnah which labeled him a “Secular” .

You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place or worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the State

This is the main part of his 11th August speech which to preach Secular Pakistan.

Before I move further on this topic that is Jinnah and his views, allow me to learn what’s actually Secularism or what actually is being promoted in the name of Secularism. From Online dictionary:

1. Religious skepticism or indifference.
2. The view that religious considerations should be excluded from civil affairs or public education.
3. A doctrine that rejects religion and religious considerations.

If you ask any secularist about his belief, He would just say, I just consider all religion equal. In order words secularist don’t give a damn to religion and don’t consider religion worthy enough that they give it primary importance. If you ask them, are you an atheist?, they get mad as well as got scared and say, No NO we are not atheist we are just seculars!!. I ask what’s the difference? I get no sensible answer. Let me give definition of atheism as well. From same source.

  • Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods.
  • The doctrine that there is no God or gods.
  • Godlessness; immorality
  • the doctrine or belief that there is no God

Find the difference? Athiest reject God while seculars reject religion as primary element of leading life. I ask, Isn’t a religion associated with a God or a Super force? take any Abrahmic faith(Islam,Judaism or Christianity) or Hinduism, they all talk about a super force which is called Allah in Islam, G-d/Yahweh in Judaism,God in Chritianity and Om in Hinduism. All mentioned religons talk about a Super force. When we talk about super force then we also believe that He was our creator thus He defined some rules and regulations to perform different functions of His universe and set some commands for His living creatures. The set of commands ,rules and regulations which have been prescribed by Super force is called religion. So by rejecting religion means we are rejecting God’s commandment? Then how could seculars claim that they don’t hate religion? In urdu the term used for Secularism is La-Deniyat, that is No-religion. If I remmeber right that La is an arabic term for No or to negate something. So Seculars also reject the existance of any religion in their surrounding which is not differant than rejecting a super force. Atleast Atheists are better than these seculars, atleast they are honest enough and don’t demonstrate hypocrisy by promoting secularism in the disguise of Secular <Religion> where Relgion=Islam,Christianity etc.

Ok, this was my opinion which you might like to reject, why not take a look what is being said by father(s) of secularism?

From about.com

The term secularism was created in 1846 by George Jacob Holyoake in order to describe “a form of opinion which concerns itself only with questions, the issues of which can be tested by the experience of this life(English Secularism, 60)

.

Charles Bradlaugh(1833-1891),the most powerful secularist of that time said in a public debate with Holyoake in 1870 said:

Although at present it may be perfectly true that all men who are Secularists are not Atheists, I put it that in my opinion the logical consequence of the acceptance of Secularism must be that the man gets to Atheism if he has brains enough to comprehend.

so If I want to summarize it, that’s the concept of Secularism is “all religion are equal”. So if we take a=Islam b=Christianity,c=Judaism and d=Hinduism then according to secular’s defintion:

a=b=c=d that is;
a=b=c=d=null, means “we don’t give a damn to any Religion”.

In short the term secularism is very vague and I don’t find any practical Implementation of so called Secularism or equality of religion. Talking about Sepration of Church and State and equating it with Islamic ideology is lame itself. If you read in detail about Sepration of Church and state movement then it was all started by American Athiests who were not Interested to bring their kids within a state religon which is not fair with non-Bible followers. If I was a bible follower, I could also second their thought because:

They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul. All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.(2 Chronicles 15:12-13 )

And if anyone still prophesies, his father and mother, to whom he was born, will say to him, ‘You must die, because you have told lies in the LORD’s name.’ When he prophesies, his own parents will stab him(Zechariah 13:3)

This is why they killed everyone who declared prophecy and they also killed Prophets like Zacriah(AS) and Jesus(AS)[as they claim]. Islam on other hand didn’t allow to kill any such false prophet or Apostate.

or when you are asked to follow this verse then it’s quite obvious that one would like the separation of such religion from state affairs. So demand of Separation of Church and state at that time was very fair. Since we have habit to get influenced easily with West so therefore we also wish to copy this thing as well. That’s other thing we only follow bad things of west rather good things.

These days ,three states in world are called countries who are big supporters of Secularism, America, India and Turkey. How much secular they are, I don’t need to explain you.

-India: is a Hindu dominated country where bigger minorities like Muslims are in trouble for long time. Babri Masjid destruction, Bombay/Gujrat Riots are just few examples of Indian Secularism.

-US: Eh, Mr. Bush, is it not enough to reject the idea of secularism in USA? USA is so SECULAR that they even promote In GOD WE TRUST. WHich God, they might not have idea but. umm.. Maybe Christian God or Jewish G-d?

-Turkey: The Vatican of seculars, what should I say about them? Read the related post about how Tolerent they are about their oponents.

I know I know I have gone enough beyond the topic but 1) this is not new 2) It was necessary 3) Aply both 1 &2.

So I am going to quote two different speeches of Mr. Jinnah about future state.

The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was a great teacher. He was a great lawgiver. He was a great statesman and he was a great sovereign who ruled. The life of the Prophet (PBUH) was simple according to those times. He was successful in everything that he put his hand to from as a businessman to as a ruler. The Prophet (PBUH) was the greatest man that the world had ever seen. Thirteen hundred years ago he laid the foundations of democracy(occasion of the Holy Prophet’s birthday at the Karachi Bar Association on 25th January 1948)

What does it indicate? Was not Mr.Jinnah well equipped with biography of Muhammad(Saw). Was he not highly impressed with our most dearest Prophet(saw)? and why Not?? when non-muslims could admit the greatness of our Prophet(Saw) then Jinnah was still a Muslim.

On other occasion He said:

It is my belief that our salvation lies in following the golden rules of conduct set for us by our great lawgiver, the Prophet of Islam. Let us lay the foundations of our democracy on the basis of true Islamic ideals and principles(Civil, Naval, Military and Air Force Officers at Khaliqdina Hall Karachi on 11th October 1947)

Oh my GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Jinnah just burst the bubble of Secular Ideology!! What does he meant by “Golden Rules of Prophet(Saw)”? That was nothing but Sunnah of Rasool(saw) which Itself is based upon Quran and over all it’s called Islamic Shariah. SO Jinnah just wanted Islamic Shariah in Pakistan, which Shariah? not by Sunnis, not By shias no by somoe else but which is given according to Quran and Sunnah. This is also ordered by Allah and Rasool(saw) as well.

Is this speech not enough that How well equipped was Mr.Jinnah about Shariah and How much has he studied Quran? Shame on those people who criticized on his religious integration. If Jinnah was called Kafir-e-Azam(as seculars claim) then Seculars also called him a person with no knowledge about Islam. Retards of both sides deserve to be cursed heavily. The knowledge about Islam he had was more than our imagination. It’s also interesting to note that Jinanh was not a born religious man. He started studying Islam more when he got serious about separate Muslim nation. Lets for sake of argument we accept that Jinnah was religion hater in past, then, can’t he change his views? can’t he study about particular topic? why is he cursed for his past? All great companions(RA) were infidels before Islam. Is it sane and good to curse them due to their past life rather focusing on what they achieved later? Jinnah had studied Islam throughly that’s why came up with two classic speechs about His admiration for great Prophet(saw). On other pccasion Jinnah said:

What is it that keeps the Muslims united as one man, and what is the bedrock and sheet-anchor of the community. It is Islam. It is the Great Book, Quran, that is the sheet-anchor of Muslim India. I am sure that as we go on there will be more and more of oneness, one God, one Book, one Prophet and one Nation(All-India Muslim League, Karachi on 26th December 1943)

Another one:

Every Mussalman knows that the injunctions of the Holy Quran are not confined to religious and moral duties. From the Atlantic to the Ganges, says Gibbon, the Holy Quran is acknowledged as the fundamental code, not only of theology, but of civil and criminal jurisprudence, and the laws which regulate the action and the property of mankind are governed by immutable sanctions of the will of God”. Everyone, except those who are ignorant, knows the Holy Quran is the general code of the Muslims(message of Eid to the Muslims in September 1945)

Except those who are ignorants- JInnah closed the chapter of any future propaganda about his belief, about new state by giving these three speeches and called Ignorants to those who whine about Separation of Religion and State and want law other than Quranic. Ask from guys like HoodBhoy, Cowasjee and other pro secular movement about these speeches and ask them to use their brain to figure out what was actually Jinnah’s dream.

You ‘re free to go Temple,Church..- How the heck does it mean Secularism? as I said Jinnah had studies Islam then what Jinnah said, was it something against what Allah said in Quraan?

There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing(Quran 2:256)

Is it Not enough? If not then read the last aya of Surah Kafiron:

For you is your religion, and for me is my religion(109:6)

HOw Jinnah said something different than that when he said on 11th August?

When Omar Bin Khattab(RA) entered in Jerusalem which He(RA) conquered easily without any fight as it was a Biblical prophesy, Omar(RA) freed everyone to perform prayers according to his faith . When Moors ruled in Spain, they give equal protection to Jews and Christian and allow them to perform prayers according to their faith. Non-Muslims needed something like secularism because their Bible had no such thing of equal status neither there was such thing within Hinduism. Islam gave equal rights to non-muslims as well. Why do we muslims see something foreign when everything is mentioned in Islam? Does that not mean that those who reject the supremacy of Islam are ignorant and blind enough that they never studied Quran properly?

So what actually these seculars and liberals want in Pakistan? Jinnah’s dream? which dream? Islamic state, Offcourse not, they don’t want such thing. then what? Well.. what I think that they want to implement their own filthy “religion” in the name of Jinnah. What Jinnah wanted , I mentioned by quoting his speech. His speech of 11th August doesn’t reflect that He was a religion hater. His 11th august speech is according to Quranic Verses and according to government of Omar(RA) in Jerusalem.

Those who blame Jinnah as a secularist are those who always confuse about their own identity. I remember while reading an article by Cowasjee an year back, he mentioned that he met Salahuddin ,”Sallu”(Haveli Fame), Sallu got disturbed when he found the urdu meaning of secularism as Ladeniyat and tried to seek some term which don’t reflect seculars as Atheists. It brought on my face that How confused these seculars are.

People would keep blaming Jinnah for their own interest but what actually was Jinnah could be learnt from his speeches. When people could blame Muslims as followers of Mod God then how could they forgive Jinnah and labeling him as Secularist? Pakistan and Israel are two states which are based on religion. Pakistan was established on 27th Ramadan. How could Pakistan be a non-religious state which was described by Iqbal as:

Meer-e-Arab ko aaee thandi hawa jahan se,
Mera watan wohi hai, mera watan wohi hai.
(From where the Prophet Mohammed(saw) received a cool breeze,
That is my motherland, that is my motherland.)

which is based on Hadith of Rasool(SAw) in which He(saw) said that He feels attraction towards Hind- Why did Prophet(saw) attraction? These are few things which force to Ponder about creation of Pakistan for specific purpose. What Specific purpose? it was nothing but leading life according to Islam which Jinnah wished and spread Islam all over. Today Pakistan is the only country which is center of spreading Islam all over the world via various form of Tableegh. Pakistanis are busy in spreading message of Allah everywhere in world even in Israel. How such state could be established on basis of secularism? Nobody could give any sensible answer yet, even seculars. If Jinnah just wanted a secular state then why the heck did he get a separate state at first palace? was India not enough to provide security to Hindus or seculars believed Gandhi and Nehru impotent enough that they wasn’t able to guard their own fellows? If you ask seculars about then, they would start discussing everything but will not give you proper answer.

May Allah fulfill the dream of Jinnah which He saw as an Islamic Pakistan which follow the teachings of His admirer and our Prophet(saw).- Ameen

Yes, we DO love Pakistan

Friday, August 10th, 2007

BuzzVines has started an online Movement to create awareness of freedom and independence. Pakistanis are thankless nation that they seldom value their country. They are mostly busy to screw it up. Interesting thing is that we call our country Mother Land but then we are always ready to screw it up, screwing the Mother Land!!, doesn’t it sound sick?? Actually we have not suffered like Kashmiris and Palestinians that’s why we don’t give up our pathetic activities which are harmful for Pakistan.

I am honored and thankful to BuzzVine Administration that they considered me worthy enough and asked me to join this movement. I am very much agreed with them and have added the promotional image on my blog. Thanks for tagging BuzzVines!.

Since we are talking about Pakistan and 14th August, it’s usually being observed that Pakistani are not so enthusiastic like they used to be in past. I kinda disagree because things were very different in Past than today. 2007 was one of the bloodiest year in the history of Pakistan where we have been facing lots of difficulties. The other thing is that most of us in past were kids and now grownup men and women so obviously we feel more vacuum than anyone else but the beautiful fact is that our kids still celebrate 14th August like we used to do in past. Is it not beautiful? Is it not thrilling?

Also, it’s said that we don’t love our country and the reason is given that we are involved in corruption, looting, cheating others etc etc. Fine this is true but does that mean we don’t love our country? the mother land? How many of you are 100% obedient kids of your parents? you don’t show off your love for your parents all the time, you also don’t listen them but if any of them fells ill, you just forget everything as nothing exist other than parents. Same thing is with Pakistan. We do love Pakistan but we don’t care of it, we don’t show off love but when our country suffers we become a united nation and gets ready to help our brothers and sisters. This is not a fairy tale, something like that happened after Oct’05 Earthquake in Pakistan when everyone was desprate to help victims regardless of colur,race and community. Everyone at PAF base was busy to help. I myself witnessed that both bicycle owner and BMW owner were working together. There was no difference at all. Why don’t I experience similar feeling all the time? Is it necessary that we suffer then we demonstrate our love for Pakistan. In Urdu it’s said, Latoun K bhoot batoun se Nahi mantay, we re just like that and I think there is a dire need of changing attitude. People don’t respect others anymore. Everyone has become selfish. This is the selfishness which is the core problem of traffic jams in Karachi. I am damn sure that even if you make thousands of underpasses,flyovers or subways, we would keep complaining about traffic jam issues because construction of flyovers and underpasses doesn’t construct our attitude.

If there are lots of bad and negative examples in our society, there are some beautiful examples as well which give us hope that our future is not so dark. Just look at the following picture which published in DailyTimes.

From the source:

Aslam Pervez, a disabled man, arrives in Islamabad from his native town Ummarkot, Sindh. He claims to have travelled this distance on his hand-driven cycle to promote the cause of peace in Pakistan. He plans to celebrate Independence Day in Islamabad. shabbir hussain

See, people like Aslam gives us hope that not everyone in this country is selfish. People like Aslam also make us embarrass that despite of being normal human beings with all organs intact, we are more disabled than Aslam. Actually we are more lower than Aslam. Allah just made him physically disabled while we made ourselves mentally disabled. Our minds are nothing but infertile wombs which can’t produce anything constructive. How pity we are ,ain’t we?

I don’t know how things will get changed, who will change us. All I know that we have to bring changes ourselves because Allah clearly told us that He(SWT) would not be helping hands for those nation who themselves are not willing to accept changes. We actually don’t like to accept changes and prefer to live in state of Inertia. Sometimes we reject things by saying, These Mullahs are just to lecture us all the times while sometimes we reject to bring changes by saying, Govt sucks ,system sucks and we can’t perform well. It has become our national game to blame others. This blame game is leading us towards nothing.

I can just hope that we just change our attitude. We should start thinking about others. We should start thinking about future generations. Our generation and our past generations have suffered a lot and the only reason behind this that they didn’t strive to bring changes and continued the blame game. Atleast we should think about our future generations. When I see cute kids on roads who are begging , I just get trembled due to fear that what kinda future lot of Pakistan are we producing? Try to see Pakistan thru the eyes of your kids. Even If you don’t have kids, just step out of your home and you would see lots of lovely flowers around who are our future. See Pakistan thru their eyes. Try to see Paksitan thru the eyes of those kids who died during Lal Masjid operation, you might see nothing but blood which just covered all their dreams which can’t be fulfilled now *sigh*. Live for others, do something for our future generation please! you don’t have to be some politician,nazim or a leader, all is required Pakistaniat which is driving force for us.

God bless Pakistan and God bless our future generation. Ameen

Emergency Hype- What was achieved?

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Actually I don’t have to write much. As expected Awab beautifully covered most of the points plus the discussion on ATP also revealed other dimensions of Emergency.

As we all know that news was broken by different channels who were referring lunch party of Ladies parlimenterians of PML-Q by Shujat who revealed about Emergency decision which was later endorsed by Aitazaz Ahsan who claimed that President had already signed the document. Then what happened we all know well, Media gone mad so we bloggers. More than 70% of blogs in Pakistani blogsphere were working as a source of rumor and spreading news. Several politicians and govt officials were denying this news but they were not sure about it either and you can see the trend of their statements here.

The development which I read on Internet was a phone call by Condi a.k.a Kacrha Rani who called around 2.00 AM Pakistani time to Musharraf and asked , “Wats up?”. After that I read on Jang updates around 4:00 PM that Shujat denied any such rumors as well as his statement. Now,as sources claiming that there is NO such state of emergency in Pakistan. Too late but a wise decision.

Now one wonder what was achieved? or aftermath of this emergency hype? For quite obvious reason, KSE got crashed and there was decline of 382 points

so Shoky, did you get your target with the help of your buddies in Stock Market?

The other industry or sector, whatever it’s actually called was Media and Journalism. I am sorry to say that the credibility media earned during cj saga is a bit at stake after being a source of fueling this rumor. Every major channel was talking about emergency. Guys like Talat Hussain, Hamid Mir, Kamran Khan, Nusrat/Mushtaq Minhas were going wild like dogs and created situation as if every thing has gone down. Tonight when I was watching Kamran Khan Show, govt officials were blaming Media rather admitting their own mistakes that Media created hype which caused the crash of stock market as well. I think media has to learn lots of thing. They need to learn that freedom doesn’t mean you made headlines of news by some doodh wala just because he found a UFO in Lalukhait. I appreciate one thing that Ansar Abbasi admited the mistake and blame media fully for irresponsible behavior.

Oh, How can I forget to mention MQM who came out and take the credit of cancellation fo Emergency in Pakistan !

MQM is being like Begani Shadi mey Abdullah Dewana and Mr. Imran farooq claiming that MQM made efforts to force General to change the decision as if we don’t know who was behind this?

The thing is, was it really untentional rumor or the decision was seriouly taken? I personally don’t feel that shujat could make such irresponsible statement which he had not denied till 3:00 PM. Awab says he himself spread the news so that it could create a mess between Mush and B.B. Is this not possible that Shujaat was trapped by those forces who also played part during Lal Masjid crisis and made the deal impossible between ghazi brothers and govt officials?

Lots of questions will come out in coming days but it’s sure that Shujat’s credibility is seriously damaged. Now everyone will ask him including those who were in govt and against him. Salman Shah clearly said in Kamran Khan show that Media and those sources who spread this rumor should take the responsiblity of chaos which happened today. Now what comes out in coming days, I hope it would be better. Atleast I am glad that emergency was not imposed. It was quite disturbing because we are in month of August.

State of Emergency and politicians

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Few hours back I made a post about emergency and I was just visiting Jang website to get the updates and I went thru all news regarding upcoming emergency in Pakistan and found a very interesting trend in the statements of different politicians of both sides, opposition and govt.

MQM, PPP,govt, judges, everyone is giving his statement. Most of politicians are saying NO at this moment. It would be interesting to note what would they say in future.

get ready for “Emergency”!

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Every Pakistani channel is reporting that the dictator Musharraf is going to be next Martial law Administrator and has signed the document of imposing Emergency in Pakistan. Right now three reasons have been discussed for emergency, 1)Chinese killings 2)American Threats 3)National Assembly debate which I mentioned here. Experts saying that the real reason of Imposition is election of Musharraf for next 5 years and no serious man buying the theory of American Threat. Farhan Shabbit of ARY knocked out Shaikh Rasheed when Rasheed replied that current US threats force govt to impose Emergency. In reply farhan said that Americans had been threatening Pakistan for several years but Pak govt always called then Friends and Allies. He further replied to Rasheed that the actual reason could be Nawaz Sharif’s hearing or Musharraf’s selection. Sh. Rasheed had no answer.

Let’s see what sun witnesses tomorrow. The dictator going to give a great gift on Pakistan’s 60th Birthday.

All those kids who didn’t see martial law in Pakistan, its time for them to experience the real face of dictatorship.

Vetran Army officer lashes out at Pakistani Foriegn Policy

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Maj (retd) Tanveer Syed, who is brother of Pakistani singer Tahira Syed and son of Malika Pukhraj couldn’t control himself and openly criticized Pakistani foreign policy and Pak-US relation. Mr Syed who fought against India at Chonda(Pakistan), urged to shake hand withs Taliban and spit on US after lunatics remarks by Omaba and Tencredo about Pakistan and Islam.

According to Dawn News:

Recognising Taliban and launching a jihad is the only way to take revenge,” said Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Maj (retd) Tanveer Hussain Syed while taking part in the debate on the foreign policy “with particular reference to recent statements of some US presidential candidates, US civil nuclear treaty with India, threat of military intervention in Pakistan, the country’s role in war against terror and the improper conditions in the US legislation for aid to Pakistan.

He claimed that through jihad, Pakistan could get Kashmir within six months.

Major Tanveer also alleged that the CIA, RAW and Khad were behind the killings of Chinese nationals in Pakistan. “There is a need for revenge and there is only one way to do it, Jihad, Jihad and Jihad,” he concluded.

Some Pro US guys said that US would now attack on Pakistan after this statement is nothing but plain bullshit as If US was waiting for our statement or some proof? Duh! When did US wait for some reason and proof when He invaded Iraq and Afghanistan?
