Ironic is that this "religious" scholar Aamir Liaqat has been involved in degree scam in the past. Once a policeman stopped his car on violation of dark glasses rule he made such a fuss that the then provincial minister Rauf Siddiqui himself had to reach the spot, so thats all about the words and action of the "scholar"

It really saddens me to see that someone would compare Ghamadi to Aamir Liaquat Hussian. I am going to admit that I respect Ghamadi a lot. But I do wonder if you people have done your own personal research on both the individuals, or are your opinions really based on some entities, may that be the media, or your local masjid for that matter, opinions that you are so impressed by. I would like to know, what is it about Ghamadi's credentials that is so questionable.
One thing you should be careful with, when you make such assertions, that Ghamadi is a published scholar, and his attitude or teachings are based off the research that he has done, in religion. He has a history based off of his scholarly work, therefore just don’t base an opinion due to your disagreement of his opinion to yours. If the media has provided him a medium to challenge the mainstream faith, in Pakistan, then that does not discredit his work. I am sure it bothers a lot of the religious elitists with what Ghamadi has to teach, and I would be interested in knowing what is that really bothers them about it.
I find Aamir Liquat Hussain, quite the opposite of Ghamadi. I know of no scholarly history of Aamir Liaquat, when I first heard of him, it was through his show on TV, it was not what he said that bothered me, but how he presented it and addressed it, that was annoying. Plus, I got the impressions that he was feeding into the mainstream faith of Pakistan, which I consider not optimal in its practice. So where does this comparison originate from?

<i>
r if you people have done your own personal research
</i>

yaar it seems you have some issue that you think others are such plain dumb and don't have access to anything and you know everything? I have read Ghamidi and after reading I can say that he's not a scholar who can guide. He's the man who can just misguide by using beautiful words. I don't hate him. I do admire his speaking qualities, soft and cool which others should follow as well but I don't believe in his teachings which contradicts the basics. for instance ghamidi wrote the script of KKL and how much I wwas against the script, you know it well.

how much do you know about Ghamidi? both ghamidi and modudi belong to Ahsan Eslahi's school of thought. Modudi is also worshiped by many but how blasphemous he was, everyone knows that as well. Ghamidi is not so blasphemous like modudi but he does go out of the track.

now I get why one would oppose tableeghis. After all it's hell easy to do drawing room talks like Ghamidi and others than practically going out and spread the message. forget non-muslim countries, there are several places in Pakistan where people don't know "Kalima". what your ghamidi did for them? what did you do for them? What would you answer to Allah when he would ask you what u did to spread his message? just bloody drawing room talks? I don't say i am different. Right now I am on same boat that is logging on a site and blogging which is not some big thing at all- Khair you wouldn't get it. After all we all seek excuses and easy way out in religion *grin*

My other post would also answer some of the questions you pose here. But one thing I want to get out of the way, so that you don’t misunderstand me, I am, as an individual, and very private person, and talk about religion and my belief with a very selected few. Not because I think I know more than others do, or I have something to hide, it is just a matter of principal. I usually don’t read news from Pakistan, and avoid controversial issues. So your interpretation of my character is quite wrong. And if you respond to my post with a negative opinion of me then there is no way you would be able to say anything intelligent and unbiased. As a matter of my personal belief, I do not benefit from assuming that you are ignorant. If I thought that you were ignorant, why would I pose the questions I asked. If you read it wrong, then reading it again, I am informing you this is what my opinion is, and I would like to know what your opinion is.
My post above was not implying anything, it was directed to learn more about the nature of the post and inquisitive in nature. Now read it again and reply responsibly.

Let me post here again the piece I wrote to you in the previous post:

“On a separate note, I would add that, I have noticed that you misunderstand or misinterpret the other persons intent or justification, and extract implications that do not exist. And that is not a very positive way to make a point or present a counter point. I have also felt that there is a hint of offense, perhaps in the name of counter defense. I am not sure why you do it. But I will give you benefit of the doubt, and my understanding is, that I am just one person, usually pick on one of your posts and start to give my views, whereas from your perspective, you are trying to replying to others on their comments from several other posts. If that is the case, I would suggest, read this post again, and the answers you seek are all there, without any implication or insinuation, in very plain English.”

Now read my above post again, and read your own response. And tell me if you method of responding is justified. Or even you have in any way given me any knowledge to base my opinion upon. If you are trying to be productive with your bloging, your methodology is quite counter productive.

Like I said I seldom talk about religion, and the only reason I am engaging in these discussions is that, I have been deeply disturbed by the Lal Masjid affair, and I think that the outcome cannot be good for Pakistan. And this is my way to gauge, how aware people are of their realities. I can tell you this much, up till now I have not come across anything very positive, that would give me hope. The liberals there are too liberal, and the conservatives are like you. In my opinion one is not better than the other one.

I came across a couple of other posts on other blogs, and people have tried to explain to you what I have been trying to explain to you. If they have not been able to persuade you, I am sure I cannot either.
But it seems like you are quite an authority (not only on this blog, but others too) in passing judgment on imaan of others people.

May Allah guide you. This is all I have to say.
