No, there is nothing like that, this is the image of PNSC building Karachi which caught fire few days back and became the reason for the loss of millions of dollars.

No, there is nothing like that, this is the image of PNSC building Karachi which caught fire few days back and became the reason for the loss of millions of dollars.
From BBC
Khuda Baksh had his hands and legs tied and was ordered to spend 10 minutes neck deep in a freezing pond in Punjab province, reports say.
After he held out for only two minutes tribal elders imposed a fine.
Correspondents say trial by ordeal, though illegal, is common in parts of rural Pakistan.
Such pathetic incident happened in same country where a dictator cum president claimed that he had been struggling hard to introduce a soft image to outer world.
So we lost again [the series], no need to mention that it was an embarrassing experience.
Today when I was watching pathetic performance by Pakistanis, I was just thinking that whether they should be blamed for such an offensive cricket tour or PCB? The reason I am asking this question that this was the last tour of Pakistan before World Cup which would be held in West Indies where wickets are entirely different than South African Wickets.
Pakistan had been performing very well in year 2005 and 2006 where they won series not in home grounds but abroad as well. This is the same Pakistani team who defeated against West Indies in West Indies. The same company defeated England in home ground and India in India. Do you find any common factor? If you ask me then I would definitely say the nature of pitches in Pakistan or South Asia and West Indies which is almost identical.
Were PCB schedule setters drunk at the time of setting schedule that they had NO idea about difference between South African and West Indies pitches? Maybe some moron chamcha official would have tried to make a funny or should I say Ignorant statement to justify the tour by saying that West Indians look like Africans [black] therefore it wouldn’t matter whether we practice in West Indies or South Africa.
On the other hand, other two good south Asian cricket teams are playing on South Asian pitches and this series would help both teams to get adjusted on West Indian pitches. Australia, well no comments, they are true professionals. England is looking very good and the way they defeated Australia in Commonwealth series is superb. South Africa is already feeling cool by defeating a 3rd Rank test team in both ODIs and Test matches. West Indies and New Zealand are not weaker teams and they can surprise us at any stage. India just won the match and they would be feeling much better now. Even Bangladesh have defeated Zimbabwe
If this tour was all about practice then current defeat has already screwed their morale and it would now take time to get adjusted on West Indies pitches since they were playing on bouncy tracks and naturally they would repeat same mistakes in early matches which they did in last South African tour.
IMO, Pakistan’s current tour of South Africa was not only irrelevant but costly as well since we have NO fit fast bowler at the moment. Our wicket keeper was already not doing well but thanks to our ancient Parchi System that he has been reselected and Zulqarnain has been ignored. I already mentioned here that we should not start comparing Pakistani team with Australian team. As Inzy says “Boyz did very well”, Offcourse, our boys have done very well and more than our expectations. What PCB should have done that either they had given them rest before World cup, if not then they could arrange an inter cities tournament on Pakistani pitches which could also help them to find new and relevant talent for important World cup tour but when bureaucracy plays a lead role in a system then we can’t expect something good from that system.
Let’s hope for some miracle otherwise I have no idea about our survival. I have doubt that we might not even qualify for quarter finals but I would watch matches for Cricket rather for Pakistani team and I am desperately waiting to see teams like SA, AUS and ENG in action.
Today is the 96th Birth anniversary of great Faiz Ahmad Faiz. One of my favorite poet after Iqbal and Ghalib. I have given a nick name to them GIF, no not the image format but First letter of their names Ghalib Iqbal and Faiz.
I am not able to pay tribute to his great poet in my own words, I can’t do any justice therefore I am referring faiz’s own words to pay him tribute. This is the best tribute one could give to such a great poet. Read below:
Raat You Dil Mey teri yaad aye
Jaise Weeranay mey Chupke se bahar ajayee
Jaise Sahra me Holay se chalay Bad-e-Naseem
Jaise beemar dil ko bewajah qarar ajayee
Talking about Faiz and not mentioning Arshad Mehmood,Nayarra and Tina Sani is not fair. For my urdu blog readers who are font of Faiz or poetry, I have a gift for them. The above written Ghazal in voice of Nayarra which she sang for famous Pakistani Drama Dhoop Kinaray. Both Nayarra and Arshad have given a new meaning to this classical piece of writing. Download the ghazal from here. If it doesn’t work then you can also download from main source link
If humiliating performance of Pakistan made full attempt to turn my mood off then heroic performance of Freddie Flintoff and his men did bring smile on my face. Look at the difference between Run rate of Pakistan and South Africa. Pakistan=2.34, SA=8.07 without losing any wicket and they completed the task with in first 15 overs.
Frankly speaking I lost interest in Pakistan match when I turned the TV on after 20 overs. I didn’t hesitate to switch to ESPN where they were telecasting 2nd final between AUS vs ENGLAND. I am not a fan of English team but boy, I really loved their performance. Colly is really doing great and he has come out as a dangerous all rounder. His batting, bowling and fielding was superb. Best of luck Colly and I am sure you would keep enjoying cricket lovers like me who goes for performances rather for a country. On the other hand, the match between India and Srilanka was also very thrilling. Indians did fight back but gave up in the middle. Anyway the performance was not as bad as Pakistan’s performance. I must thank ICC officials, because of their schedule, I didn’t take Pakistan’s offensive defeat seriously.

They are not satisfied yet and it seems that Musharraf will ‘release’ his pressure by launching new series of attack against Pakistan by different means. According to today’s DAWN , Mr. Robert Gates will be visiting Pakistan soon to meet Musharraf to talk about the recent threat of Talibans.
These visits are part of a renewed focus on Afghanistan, how to deal with the threat posed by Taliban,” a senior Pakistani official said. Afghanistan suffered its bloodiest year in 2006 with more than 4,000 people killed, mostly militants, sometimes in pitched battles between Taliban-led insurgents and Nato-led troops in regions bordering Pakistan.
Pakistan has faced mounting accusations that it did not stop Taliban using its territory as a sanctuary and launching pad for attacks inside Afghanistan, where the hardliners were ousted from power in late 2001 by the US-led forces
“The expected so-called spring offensive by Taliban will be very damaging to the interest of United States and Western countries and they know they cannot afford to lose,” said Masood.“That is why they want Pakistan to be very cooperative and are appreciate of its role, understand the difficulties it faces in controlling the border areas. They want to help Pakistan the best way they can. ”Pakistan insists the basic problem lies in Afghanistan where Musharraf has warned the continued alienation of ethnic Pashtuns is the biggest threat to security.
So Musharraf has to go thru another phase to convince his master [read US] to make sure that “I am all yours”. Musharraf is really doing a lot and going beyond his capability to please Mr.Bush and Co. Killing his own people in tribal areas, changing Education Syllabus and removing Quranic verses, start campaign against Madrassahs by giving excuses that madarassahs are source of breeding terrorism, demolishing Mosques, terrorizing school young girls kids, fooling people by imposing so called women rights bill while on the other hand kidnapping and torturing his own country men, even an ex CIA guy had no choice other than to say:
The US has seldom found an ally better than Musharraf, who has acted to advance “US interests” even while jeopardizing his own, Sheuer observed.
On the other hand, Mr. Bush sings praises by saying:
Our close cooperation with the government of Pakistan has saved American lives — and America is grateful to have a strong and steadfast ally in the war against these terrorists
Still Americans say, Dil Mangay more. There is nothing between the lines , it’s just that dictator and his buddies are so blind that they are just keep busy in saying “Ji Ayaa Nou” upon every call of America and not even least bothered what is it bringing around them.
