‘Raat you dil mey teri’-Faiz
Today is the 96th Birth anniversary of great Faiz Ahmad Faiz. One of my favorite poet after Iqbal and Ghalib. I have given a nick name to them GIF, no not the image format but First letter of their names Ghalib Iqbal and Faiz.
I am not able to pay tribute to his great poet in my own words, I can’t do any justice therefore I am referring faiz’s own words to pay him tribute. This is the best tribute one could give to such a great poet. Read below:
Raat You Dil Mey teri yaad aye
Jaise Weeranay mey Chupke se bahar ajayee
Jaise Sahra me Holay se chalay Bad-e-Naseem
Jaise beemar dil ko bewajah qarar ajayee
Talking about Faiz and not mentioning Arshad Mehmood,Nayarra and Tina Sani is not fair. For my urdu blog readers who are font of Faiz or poetry, I have a gift for them. The above written Ghazal in voice of Nayarra which she sang for famous Pakistani Drama Dhoop Kinaray. Both Nayarra and Arshad have given a new meaning to this classical piece of writing. A great poet no doubt, Bank alfalah this year published their diary with his works, its amazing.
