Tony in Lahore- A political Mujra

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Tony Blair who is visiting Pakistan to meet his Partner in Crime Mr. Musharraf and according to source, Tony has brought lots of lots of money from U.K in the name of poverty alleviation, though it’s not told that it’s for the poverty reduction of Pakistani citizens or for Pakistani President’s regime. Sorry guys I was fooled by the last para in mentioned source says:

The prime minister agreed Sunday to immediately release 20 million pounds (US$38 million, €30 million) to target poverty alleviation schemes.

This will promote the climate for enlightened moderation to which the president and the prime minister both aspire not just in Pakistan but also globally,

Since Mush got embarassed after hearing stuff that Turkey and Egypt cashed the chance by asking more and more money in the name of Gulf war support and terrorism, Mush also decided that he would ask lots of $$$ and will not handover taliban people free of cost to US[Ref: ‘In the line of Fire’]. He decided that Tony shouldn’t be attented unless he show some money. Since Mush recently released the murderer of a poor Pakistani cab driver after severe pressure of UK govt and British Prince Charles. Tony has come to give some happy moments to Musharraf.

All these things remind me a very old nasty Punjabi song by Noor Jehan “Menu Note Vikha… mera mood banay” and I searched few images on Net and trieds d my worst best photoshop skills to produce above image.

KARACHI: 38,000 vulnerable to HIV in city

Monday, November 20th, 2006

This is really an alarming situation. According to Dawn report:

The geographical mapping carried out in a pilot survey conducted by the National Aids Control Programme along with HIV/Aids Surveillance Project reveals that an average of 38,000 of high risk people vis-à-vis HIV/Aids are present in Karachi and the majority of them are living in Saddar Town .

The survey showed 5,078 (13.3 per cent) of the total high-risk people live in Saddar Town followed by Baldia Town 4,967 people (13 per cent) and Lyari 3,866 people (10.1 per cent).

Besides, 2,590 high-risk people were reported in DHA which accounted for 6.8 per cent of a total of 38,097 people in Karachi

I am a bit surprised but…

It says 12,282 HRAs are injecting drug users (IDUs), 11,546 are female sex workers (FSWs), 8,582 are eunuch sex workers (ESWs) and 5,687 are male sex workers (MSWs).

All the high-risk groups were mostly between 20-30 years. More than 40 per cent of all these groups were illiterate.

It means people in Defence are also illetrate?

Great stuff Mush and Co. Today they are 38,000, tomorrow they might be 3,8000. Now could any pro-Mush tell me what kinda bill would help to control this situation?

I don’t accept excuses that people were illetrate. As long as you are away from religion, you will suffer more. Allah already informed us about different diseases we could face.

The last friday

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

Yesterday I left office right after lunch as my sister called me and told that Dad’s left arm got fractured again. It happened 7 years back too. Yesterday he lost his balance on masjid stairs. I came home as it took 10-20 mins more, thanks to MQM for their moronic Yom-e-Tashakar on Hudood bill. We moved to AO Clinic for first aid [which was not given] and took x-ray. It was a simple fracture but since he’s not strong enough due to age factor. We don’t trust AO CLINIC much so I tried to contact same doctor, Dr.Nizamuddin Jameli who operated his hand 7 years back as well. He’s like my family doctor and understands Dad’s nature. Allah ka karam he just tool 5-10 mins to adjust his arm bone and Abbu was coming out from operation theature. Operation is not a good option for old people so old traditional plaster is good for him. Mashallah he’s better now but doctor has asked for 2 months bed rest. Pray that he gets better soon. My sis and mom were also ill due to viral fever. Problem is that Abbu don’t listen us and never take proper diet. I think he should take much calcium related food to strengthen. Some reader who is a doctor could advise me in this regard.

I have received and still receiving several messages of appreciation around the world for the MSN BOT. I thank all those people who sent their suggestions, prayers for me and my family. I think this is another factor that Dad’s didn’t suffer seriously and He’s getting better. I will be Inshallah working on next version of the Bot once I solve the hosting issue mentioned here. As long as it’s up on current machine I wouldn’t touch it but yes I am in touch with few Pakistanis who are willing to help.

p.s: As I said earlier that I don’t like personal blogging and prefer not to share things but since I had nothing else to say or maybe I am not willing to make any typical post or maybe I was seeking for prayers of my well-wishers.

See you soon

Musharraf and Dignity of women

Friday, November 17th, 2006

All those people/NGOs who have been praising Musharraf and declaring him a ‘Sincere soul to Women’ and a Pro-women rights activists, I would like such people to go back in past and read what Musharraf had said about rape victims.

You must understand the environment in Pakistan. This has become a money-making concern.

A lot of people say if you want to go abroad and get a visa for Canada or citizenship and be a millionaire, get yourself raped.A lot of people say if you want to go abroad and get a visa for Canada or citizenship and be a millionaire, get yourself raped.

How a person with such mentality could be taken seriously as a savior of Women rights? Offcourse I don’t. He is not even a MULLAH you know! Mr President this is how you guys got chance to get Visas of different countries hmm?

Intresting part is that same NGOs and women activists who are favoring Musharraf now were cursing him an year back about his remarks. Hahahaa!

I know they all would be favoring Mush now because they found a law which has keywords like ISLAM and SHARIAH so they all have teamed up with Musharraf.

I have already made a post about Hudood law so wil not repeat again. I have not got chance to read the entire text of new WPB but does this bill covers:

  • Banning of Karokari and WANNI and hanging fudals in public places.
  • Banning of Dowry.
  • Banning of Honour Killing.
  • Banning of Watta Satta.
  • Marrying with Quran.

If yes then Its a good move, If not then its nothing but a political game between lefts and rights.

Pillion riding banned in Karachi

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

So finally Sind govt has accepted that they are politically impotent by imposing a ban on pillion riding for 15 days. According to press release, It’s an attempt tp cope with growing crime rates in karachi like car and mobile snatching.

It’s just stupid and senseless. Whoever gave this shitty idea was not aware of that there are thousands of people who use motor bikes for sake of their businesses. My friend’s elder brother is a salesman and can’t drive bike or car. He’s a salesman and dependant on his business partner friend who can drive bike to supply goods to different shops in city. Now can Sind govt provide any solution for such person that what would HE do for 15 days? How would he feed his family. These filthy bearucrats just think about themselves and always hide their mistakes by giving more pain to citizens.

I am unable to understand how this step would solve the issue? Do they believe that all evil entities use motor bikes for robbery, snatching and other stuff. Mostly I have experienced and heard that majority of snatchers don’t use motor bikes and they either as a gang in cars or use no transport for their activites. Lookwhen you have a pistol, you don’t need anything else. Now govt should ban all people to use public buses because someone could snatch your mobile in a public bus. Yes it has happens here and my friend lost his mobile twice in a public bus. They should also ban cars so that such crimnals don’t use cars. They should even prison us in homes because who knows someone is waiting for you near some roundabout of your area.

At one side we have been suffering due to other issues including snatching and now govt is creating more troubles by imposing absurd laws. Mustafa Kamal sahib, what kinda *facilities* are you providing to us? The most pathetic and childish thing I read in papers that MQM said that it’s all being done by Jamat-e-Islami. Ok Let’s suppose it’s right but are your members so inefficient that can’t CATCH them or do they wear sulemani topi? Second, why the crime rate was not much high at the time of Naimatullah Khan? something fishy hmmm…

I know govt will never accept his failure and would keep saying “Sab set hay”. This is our fault as we have proved infinite times that we re dead and can’t react.

I am confused

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

I know I am not good at English that’s why I tried to take help from Google’s feature of Dictionary to learn about definition of “Democracy” and “Dictatorship”. According to Google , different definitions of Democracy are:

  • the political orientation of those who favor government by the people or by their elected representatives
  • majority rule: the doctrine that the numerical majority of an organized group can make decisions binding on the whole group

And Dictatorship is defined as:

  • A government in which political power is exercised by a single individual whose rule is considered illegitimate.
  • A form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)

In the light of definition of these two terms, I would like to quote two different main stories of Pakistani Politics.

According to Today’s Dawn

NWFP adopts Islamic morality bill: Opposition calls it ‘maulvi’s martial law’

According to Jang, there were 57 votes in favor and 2 votes against the implementation of the Hasba Bill.

Another Interesting news in Today’s dawn is:

ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: A disallowed prayer and a protest over the recent deadly missile strike in the Bajaur tribal area broke up the National Assembly session on Monday, reflecting heightened tensions between the government and opposition parties.

The speaker had blocked a planned Fateha prayer for the Bajaur and Dargai dead when the house began its present session on Friday but the MMA managed to do it on Monday during a reference for the late alliance house member Abdus Sattar Afghani, calling the Bajaur victims “martyrs” in a challenge to government claims that all those killed in the seminary were militants training for terrorist activities.

On Friday, the speaker had provoked an MMA protest and a threat of disruption of future proceedings when he himself led the Fateha prayer for former president Ghulam Ishaq Khan, Mr Afghani and former MNA Darya Khan Khoso and said no prayer would be said for anybody else, in a move to avoid the Bajaur victims being described as martyrs and equated with army recruits killed at the Dargai parade ground.

Now could you help me to understand which news belongs to Democracy and which to Dictatorship? Or may be it’s time to get access to a Dictionary present at GHQ Islamabad?

Get ready for another Cricket controversy

Monday, November 13th, 2006

I already made two posts about cricket and religion issue here and here and I thought that things would be getting better after reciving strong reactio by Inzy and others but it seems that our liberal PCB chairman is comitted to something other than promoting cricket and administering concerned tasks.

Ok, I don’t mind playing songs or milli songs when hitting 4s and 6s by our players and it has been happening for many years but I didn’t understand the purpose of *entertaining* players by playing music. Did they request for it? It’s a also mentioned that songs were being played for spectators during lunch and tea break. The exact location has not been mentioned but I guess that it was being player near dressing rooms or something that players got disturbed during prayers. Keep in mind that this is a winter season in Pakistan and usually tea and lunch break is declared at the time of ASAR and Zohar prayers respectively. Even If players wouldn’t have protested, I guess we were taught to be silent at azaan time and listen and repeat it? Didn’t someone teach manners to event manager to show some respect to a religion. Ok,If he’s some liberal moron and preach secularism but does that mean that he stop giving respect to other religions? I don’t understand what kinda training such people get at their homes and institutes. Secularists who always chant about “FREEDOM OF RELIGION” are proving themselves another extreemist cabal after religious extreemist cabal in Pakistan and keep trying to impose their views on masses by different means.

On the other hand, awam has given a mixed response about same issue. I hope players don’t get disturbed by such lame attempts and they ignore such things and keep focusing on game.
