Removing Inzamam, a religion factor?

Monday, October 9th, 2006

The drama goes on. Now the other character of Oval Drama will be removed. Jang today is reporting that Inzy might be removed from Captainship sooner or later and one of the main factors could be a ‘Religious Pakistani Team’. Inzy is supposed to meet new Chairmen today.

Few months back I came up with a post about Sports and Religion Factor and thoughts of Aqib Javed, the former medium pace bowler. While I personally disagree with his lunatic theories as I believe that no one on earth can force me NOT to follow my religion anywhere on earth. It’s my personal choice.

Since there are anti-Islam elements in every field of life in Pakistan so I wouldn’t be surprised if He’s kicked out due to religion factor but the point is that will they kick Yusuf, Afridi and few others as well? Recently Inzy forgave Hair by saying that Islam teaches to forgive others and I know that it irks a lot to liberal elements in PCB when Inzy gives all credit to Allah and starts every conversation with Bismillah.

If you ask me, I agree that Inzy and few other religious zealots should be kicked out. Don’t get surprised, I believe they have done their part and now these guys are required more among common men to preach about Islam than in green fields. People like Muhammad Yousuf who have not missed a single Tahajjud prayers since June 2005 are badly needed to fix ignorant Pakistani youth. So PCB please do it ASAP!

I also laughed over thinking of PCB. Was Mushtaq Ahmed in Pakistan team when he got converted into a practiced Muslim? Wasn’t Saqlain Mushtaq, the former Pakistani and now Ireland national team player in UK where he grew beard and joined a Tableeghi party? What about Saeed Anwar? Being a religious has nothing to do with some official environment. It’s very stupid if PCB wants to remove Inzy due to this factor.

As I already said that it’s good for Inzamam and many others. Inzy who is busy in a 3-day Tableeghi trip will meet Nasim Ashraf today to discuss different matters. Inzy has already played a lot and earned lots of respect; even if he’s forced to leave the team then it shouldn’t make much difference. Yes his dream to play last world cup might not get fulfilled but I know Inzy is a strong man who is always ready to prefer God’s will over his own will and He would rather be satisfied by any such decision. I am sure that Inzy has a bright future off the ground and can utilize his energy to spread God’s word like Saeed Anwar and others among several Muslims. Best of Luck Inzy! Whatever you do, I am sure it would bring success to you-Ameen.

8th October 2005: Have we learnt our lesson?

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

Today is another 8th October. This day was just like any other day before 2005 but 8th October 2005 didn’t just shake the Pakistani land but it also shook millions of Pakistanis around the world as well. Lots of things have been said, lots of things have been done but I still find lots of things missing in us. Those who had to die have left us long time but those who are still alive and taking breathe, I am talking about victims. We all are victims. I am a victim. If I’m in Karachi then it doesn’t mean that I didn’t get victimized. I am not going to write just another posts like many other sources to discuss corruption in Aid money, how people in Karachi came out to help those people etc. My concern here at the moment is that what this nation has actually learnt from this disaster which came in first Ashra(10 days) of Ramadan which is considered ‘Rahmat’ for Muslims. We fooled ourselves by believing that this was just another scientific process. Off course even our birth is a scientific process but as a believer we believe that there is some force which controls everything behind the curtain, that is God.

I was watching a program on TV about Earthquake in which an army officer who lost his son in EQ and that courageous father put the dead body of his son aside and left home to help other. I found him a real Muslim when he said that his son’s soul was Allah’s property and He took it back so He has no right to protest against it. Well not an easy task at all. Anyway other son of same officer was actually describing the condition which he faced at that time. According to him the mountain had cut into two pieces and converted into pieces with in few minutes. It reminded me Surah Alhaqqa Chapter 69 of Quran.

And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing (69:14)

Also read the first 4/5 verses of same chapter which describes how God’s machines work when something goes against His will.

..(Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise. (2:164)

How many of us actually came out as Wise after this heavy tragedy? What actually we have learnt? Those who were wise learnt the lesson and fixed themselves and those who were not are still making excuses to follow the path which they and their ancestors have been following for years. I remember how different people were giving excuses to satisfy themselves by saying that it was just another scientific process. Off course it was but those who actually claim themselves as Muslims, did they ever ponder that why we suffered such a big tragedy in month of Ramadan? The month in which all devils are locked behind the bars and God just pour His blessings all the time over Muslims? I read people and an scholar like Asrar Ahmad were being idiots by saying that Karachi and Lahore possess more sinners than those areas then why didn’t Allah send upon those cities. Does Asrar Ahmed know more about this world than Allah? He doesn’t even know that he will take other breathe or not. Did such claimers bother to read following verse of Quran?

Therefore do not give likenesses to Allah; surely Allah knows and you do not know. ( 16:74)

My friends, lameness, ignorance and hypocrisy will not help us anyway. We do need to find out the things happened on that places that they suffered like that. How many of us actually made attempt to ask the people of those areas about their daily routines? Off course we did help then and then we forgot everything like we forgot the consequences of such disasters. What I saw in Tsunami reminded me Noah(AS) and His disobedient people. The earthquake in Pakistan reminded me Lut’s nation which was involved in homosexuality on large scale and it was not a sin for them, Ad and Samood etc.

We can’t close our eyes by believing in words of some people like Tarek Fatah of Canada and Asrar Ahmad by accepting that it was a scientific process only. Allah’s way or running the universe is named as Science.

Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day, and the ships that run in the sea with that which profits men, and the water that Allah sends down from the cloud, then gives life with it to the earth after its death and spreads in it all (kinds of) animals, and the changing of the winds and the clouds made subservient between the heaven and the earth, there are signs for a people who understand.(Quran 2:164).

So Awab as you asked , yes we have forgotten this day and it is not different than we have forgot the Quran and its message and our religion. We seriously need to ponder that where we are going wrong. Because of our own evil deeds, several innocents suffer as well. What if such things happen with us? How can we take precautionary steps to avoid such Godly things on our land? When God sent Azaab over Lut (AS)’s people due to their homosexual activities and other things, God destroyed not only men but old men and women, children as well. It doesn’t mean all of them were ‘gays’ but because other people didn’t stop evil things in their society. Today we see lots of shits in our society, how many of us actually make attempts to stop them? The lowest level of belief is that you consider bad thing a ‘bad’. Ignoring it and don’t consider evil as evil will definitely result destruction and humiliation of us. So please think again that whether we are free from all evils and sins? We are not like Christians who believe in concept of ‘Jesus took away all sins’. We are Muslims and we believe that we would earn on basis of what we do in this world. So please come out of imaginary world and face the reality. Don’t even imagine for a moment that we would not suffer anyway just because we were born in a Muslim family. As long as you believe in western liberal thoughts, you will keep fooling yourself; you will keep suffering yourself and people around you.

On a related note, here are few lectures of Maulana Tariq Jameel which he delivered after this tragedy.

Disgrace

Saturday, October 7th, 2006

This image appeared in Jang Paper few days back but I didn’t get time to make a post about it. I don’t know what do you think about this image but I found it very very offensive.

This is actually picture of female member of FIA and all other men are sitting around the table to inspect the uniform of the FIA lady member. Look at the lady and all others staring her uniform. Now imagine yourself standing like that in front of all and others passing remarks on your dress. I have no issue that they shouldn’t discuss the lady uniform but for God sake you are offending this lady by asking her to stand in front of guys who are strangers for her. Do you think she’s happy? I don’t think so. She is there because she was ordered. She is not part of any liberal or secular family where such exhibitions are not considered a ‘Big Issue’. She must be member of middle or lower middle class family where females never live such life where they are given such freedom and since they are bound to social and religious values, they don’t like to have such ‘demos’. I bet even a well modern woman will never like to sit in front of men, who most of them are greedy and offer her self for ‘comments’. I am a guy but even I wouldn’t like to stand in such posture in front of either men or women and let other pass remarks how my dress look like. Just because she’s poor and belongs to some middle class family and helpless to do this job anyway to feed her family, they take advantage of such weakness. Some of you might call me cynical and think that I am just making a story for my blog but whatever I wrote above is what I actually felt after seeing that Image. How many of you would send your sisters, daughters, wives or bhabis for such demos in front of these men? Do you believe all of these are saints and were actually just looking uniforms? Come on this is insult of that particular lady and insult of women community [if they feel].

Where are our mighty and pious women rights activists like Asima Jehangir or Hina Gilani or that Shahrukh khan lover Kishmala Tariq who proposed new Hudood Ordinance? Why their eyes re closed and don’t force them to condemn such things? Which WOMEN PROTECTION BILL will stop such things practiced by same govt which has been whining about women rights? Hypocrisy never works my friend. Fooling our self will actually harm us only not to others.
