And then they think Eid is for them
Eid is the Islamic festival which is celebrated first 3 days of Shawal-ul-Mukarram, right after month of Ramadan. It is actually a gift given to Muslims who keep fast in Ramadan and do excessive prayers. Interesting thing is that we never bothered to find out that do we deserve to celebrate Eid or not.
There is a faction which:
- Just gets up in the morning for eating different good foods in the name of Sehri and then just sleep.
- Doesn’t get agreed to quit bad language, offending and abusing others.
- Kills time by listening music and watching movies after Sehri so that they could keep themselves up for Office and school activities
- Prefers to spend Isha time in different markets for sake of shopping or staring women.
- Consist of men and women who don’t miss chance to stare each other during fasting.
- Run to different cigarette and pan shops for smoking, by believing that smoking was only prohibited during fasting period.
- Doesn’t try to recite Quran, correct mistakes during recitation.
- Which never bother to go masjids for Salat and even if they ever go, they prefer to run just after finishing of Salat without making combine prayers after Fard Salat.
- Spend time in reading irreverent books rather studying Islamic literature and doing some research about their own religion.
- Feels proud to arrange and visit different lavish Iftar parties and never spend just few minutes to offer Maghrib prayer which is essential for breaking fast.
- Never tries to control Nafs and never quit habits which actually are big obstacles between them and Allah.
- Even keeps fast, recites Quran, prays five times in masjid in the month of Ramadan but doesn’t feel the spiritual change inside and return to same state after Ramadan.
Now there is another group which:
- Seeks Allah’s willingness in everything and repent Allah for their past bad activities.
- Gets up an hour or more before Sehri time so that they can offer Tahajjud prayers which is ultimate way to get closed to Allah in short period of time.
- Recites Quran before and after Fajr and tries to finish Quran at least once in this month.
- Spends time in Zikr of Allah by murmuring 3rd Kalima, Darood Shareef and Astaghfirullah.
- Used to smoke prior to Ramadan but quit just by keeping this thing in mind that Allah dislike any activity which leads to suicide which is Haram in Islam.
- Keeps standing in Masjids and homes to perform Taraweeh by killing their own desires to go out for shopping and buy new stuff for themselves and for kids.
- Stays away any kind of music and prefer to listen different Naats, Bayans of Islamic Scholars and Recitations by various famous Recitors.
- Spends time reading Hadith and different Islamic books to learn more about Islam.
- Try their best to control nafs by not using foul language, staring women or vice versa and quitting bad activities which were bid hurdles between them and Allah.
- Enjoys Salat by offering it slowly and properly.
- Seeks Lailatul Qadar.
If you claim that you have some sense and can make difference between good and bad then you shouldn’t face difficulty to figure out which group deserves most.
There is a very famous Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (RA).
If a person does not avoid false talk and false conduct during Siyam, then Allah does not care if he abstains from food and drink
Now suppose you and your friend have been assigned a project by your teacher or your boss. Your friend works hard, makes extra efforts to make his work distinctive while on other hand you are just killing time and doing work because you were just ordered. The project is finished and your friend is given performance bonus and performance certificate. On the other hand you were given nothing because you didn’t work hard. Does it make any sense that you spend money to throw a party because the project was finished? Or your friend should actually enjoy the moments because he was awarded by your Boss for his extra efforts and hard working? Will not people laugh at you that you are being a moron for getting happy and trying to steal happy moments by making fool yourself? Off course you should be called a retard and stupid that you did nothing and still celebrating the moments. You don’t deserve those moments and you amusing yourself by believing ‘Yes I also made it’ while you merely did anything to finish the project. In short you will be remembered as a loser and a lamer among your mates.
Begani shadi mey Abdullah Dewana, many of you would have heard this in your life. Such people are actually crazy like Abdullah. Do you believe that by making no effort to bring change in yourself and by not praying in front of Allah and doing NOTHING good for yourself and family make you something better in front of God and you deserve God’s gift that is Eid? NO NO NO you are rather earning more curse by Allah and His angels. Partying Iftar without offering prayers and wandering in markets and staring women/men doesn’t make you worthy in the eyes of Allah that you think to celebrate Eid. You are just fooling yourself by making assumptions that Eid is for you which is not at all. At one hand you lost money by making good clothes and buying lots of stuff and on other hand you earned lots of curses of Allah rather earning His blessings. You are an imaginary loser. Unfortunately many of us actually belong to same group who consider cosmetic arrangements as essence of Ramadan. We claim that we re educated, yet we always ready to present our self to give other reasons to laugh at us, then we whine that Allah doesn’t listen us. Why should He? What did we do which actually pleased him? The people who deserve eid are those who get rid from Hell fire in the month. They are true victorious, they should celebrate Eid festival which is the gift of God. Either we should come in the real world and stop celebrating such Eids or start following the actual path of Ramadan. May Allah saves us Ameen. There is another beautiful Hadith which describes the attributes of a Momin.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
A Bedouin came to the Prophet and said, “Tell me of such a deed as will make me enter Paradise, if I do it.” The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, “Worship Allah, and worship none along with Him, offer the (five) prescribed compulsory prayers perfectly, pay the compulsory Zakat, and fast the month of Ramadan.” The Bedouin said, “By Him, in Whose Hands my life is, I will not do more than this.” When he (the Bedouin) left, the Prophet said, “Whoever likes to see a man of Paradise, then he may look at this man.”( Volume 2, Book 23, Number 480 )
