The Unknown Pakistan

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

Shamelessly taken from Abrar’s blog. The west is used to see Pakistan thru the eyes of BBC,CNN and FOX and they believe on their media more than a Bible. The world knows Pakistan as a terrorism support country,a hub of sectarian violence and inventors of Islamic Bomb. While certainly this is not true.Mystic851 has comeup with an awesome video about Pakistan. The real Pakistan.Indeed we are not angels. We should be treated like any other human beings. The video reflects a true Pakistan, the country which doesnt only give freedom to muslims to say prayers 5 times in a masjid but also give liberty to fashion designers to display whatever they want.Enjoy the video.

By the way Wasim’s yorker was awesome!! :>

Milli ADs

Monday, August 14th, 2006

We have heard the term Milli Naghmay(national songs) but Milli Ads ,I came up with this term after watching classical mobilink Ad,based on Mehdi Sahab’s song Yeh Watan Hamara hay.The beauty of the song is lovely rendered voice of Mehdi Hasan and the video itself.I dont remember the exact video but it starts with a clip in which a very cute little kid kiss the picture of Quaid M.A Jinnah then Mehdi Sahab appears on wheel chair at Mazar-e-Quaid.Then Mehdi Sahab appears weeping on the lines Is Zameen ki mitti me khoon hey Shaheedoun ka.Really it brought tears in my eyes as well. After few mintues famous Pakistan poet Munir Niazi appear on chair handing a pen to a Pakistani kid wearing blacksherwani and smile on his face and on face of Niazi Sahab.Good work by Shaan really impressive.

The second video is also related with a mobile operator Warid Telecom, good video and good song “Rang do” by Ali Azmat.

If anyone have videos of both songs in mp3 or even avi format then kindly forward it to me.I dont have a good mobile camera and related softwares otherwise I would have uploaded myself on YouTube.com

P.S:The great Alamgir is in town after 15 years!! yeah after 15 years. He left Paksitan when he was neglected by TV officials.I just watched on TV,he was actually crying when he was discussing about Pakistan.*sigh* how many great people will be forced to leave Pakistan? Can anyone answer me?

LEBANON-ISRAEL Conflict-A Test case

Monday, August 14th, 2006

SEYMOUR M. HERSH has come up with another classical article after his article about Abu ghuraib jail. Few intresting excerpt are quoted below:

“We do what we think is best for us, and if it happens to meet America’s requirements, that’s just part of a relationship between two friends. Hezbollah is armed to the teeth and trained in the most advanced technology of guerrilla warfare. It was just a matter of time. We had to address it.”

Israel had devised a plan for attacking Hezbollah—and shared it with Bush Administration officials—well before the July 12th kidnappings. “It’s not that the Israelis had a trap that Hezbollah walked into,” he said, “but there was a strong feeling in the White House that sooner or later the Israelis were going to do it.”

How Bush Administration was satisfied by Tel Aviv:

“The Israelis told us it would be a cheap war with many benefits,” a U.S. government consultant with close ties to Israel said. “Why oppose it? We’ll be able to hunt down and bomb missiles, tunnels, and bunkers from the air. It would be a demo for Iran.

Classic by Armitage:

Armitage said. “The only thing that the bombing has achieved so far is to unite the population against the Israelis.

The surprising strength of Hezbollah’s resistance, and its continuing ability to fire rockets into northern Israel in the face of the constant Israeli bombing, the Middle East expert told me, “is a massive setback for those in the White House who want to use force in Iran. And those who argue that the bombing will create internal dissent and revolt in Iran are also set back.”

Neocons’ thinking

the former senior intelligence official said. “There is no way that Rumsfeld and Cheney will draw the right conclusion about this,” he said. “When the smoke clears, they’ll say it was a success, and they’ll draw reinforcement for their plan to attack Iran.”

The worry in Israel is that Nasrallah might escalate the crisis by firing missiles at Tel Aviv. “There is a big debate over how much damage Israel should inflict to prevent it,” the consultant said. “If Nasrallah hits Tel Aviv, what should Israel do? Its goal is to deter more attacks by telling Nasrallah that it will destroy his country if he doesn’t stop, and to remind the Arab world that Israel can set it back twenty years. We’re no longer playing by the same rules.”

Now this is the quote which I would like that every muslims read and feel ,specially our moronic liberal class who just oppose everything about Islam without going into depth and our muslim leaders.

A European intelligence officer told me, “The Israelis have been caught in a psychological trap. In earlier years, they had the belief that they could solve their problems with toughness. But now, with Islamic martyrdom, things have changed, and they need different answers. How do you scare people who love martyrdom?”

Yes how can you scare such people at all which were labelled as Jihadists or desprate of virgins in paradise?Whatever you say as long as you are scared of your death you cant defeat your enemy.

Now an important concern which actually gives birth to people like Osama.

Nasr said. The popularity of Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a virulent critic of Israel, is greatest in his own country. If the U.S. were to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, Nasr said, “you may end up turning Ahmadinejad into another Nasrallah—the rock star of the Arab street.”

Loved this comment about Tony Pai:

“Blair stands alone on this,” the former diplomat said. “He knows he’s a lame duck who’s on the way out, but he buys it”—the Bush policy. “He drinks the White House Kool-Aid as much as anybody in Washington.”

Bush Administration is criticizing and calling it lie but Mr.Hersh is also very confident about his source.

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

You are victim of feudal system.

You are fooled every moment by the leaders you select yourself.

You are killed, humiliated and rejected by your own country fellows still you never lose hope.

You have no money for roti but you come out as more generous than Hatim Tai when Imran Khan appeals you for cancer hospital charity.

You have no shelter for yourself but you are even ready to sell your souls to give shelter to your brothers and sisters who suffered in earthquake.

You people have been labeled as Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi, Pathan, mohajir. You people label each other lower class or elite class, Peela School or Angerzi School but you people forget all such differences and work together at PAF museum where world witness big Mercedes car owner and a bicycle owner had one dream; to save those affected people.

Yes you have a girl among you who gives all of her dowry for earthquake victims. Off course you would feel proud that you have a beggar kid who gave all of money in earth quake fund which he saved for Eid.

Pakistani Tujhey Salam. I pray you get rid of every problem. I wish you realize soon that you are very strong and you are in majority. I hope you learn soon that you are fooled by only 0.01% population of this country. I hope start giving importance to each other. You are the best!! Just you need guidance and then no one can say you a world. Please respect yourself and respect others. Do expose the problems but don’t curse your country. Respect your parents. Never leave them alone because one day you also have to become parents of your kids.

Lets play with the religion

Saturday, August 12th, 2006

I have been noticing for the last 5 or 6 years that Pakistani Muslims have invented lots of new things within religion. The reason I mentioned the nationality is because I didn’t notice such crap within Saudi Arabia.

The most annoying thing is that every cabal is coming up with controversial elements which could be very harmful in future.

When I was a child, I heard about Shia and Sunni only and I used to see different shia rallies. Then in late 90s I heard about different groups like Sipah Sahaba and few other extreme sunni groups whose purpose was nothing to curse Shia and declare them Kaafir. Suddenly Karachiites saw lots of green and brown turbans guys among themselves. Since I was a student at that time so didn’t notice their activities but they tried their best to provoke Sunnis against Shias. Before any of you declare me a “Shia”,I am not one.I am a Sunni though I m not feeling good to introduce me like that to you because in Quran Allah says to Muhammad(SAW).

Those who divide themselves into sects do not belong with you. Their judgment rests with GOD, then He will inform them of everything they had done (Quran 6:159)

And before my Sunni brothers and sisters use this verse to hit Shias, let me tell them that there are sects within Sunnis as well.

In 2001 when I started my career, I found something very weird, unpleasant and unacceptable on the occasion of 12th Rabiul Awwal. The installation of green flags all over with text “Rasool(SAW) k Amad Marhaba” and rallies like our shia friends within city. The funniest part of this was that most of them was ex-MQM activist who ran away in different shrines of interior sind during govt operation against them. Running bike without silencers and carrying flag with our Prophet’s name and Kalima, thiswas the nonsense which I was not able to grasp at that time. They had blocked the main routes of the city, playing naats in full volume. This was just the beginning. In last few years I found many other sectarian groups like Sunni Tehrik, ISO (Imamia Student Organization).such parties started wall chalking with lots of crappy so called religious slogans. Like one I used to see by ISO was about Imam Mahdi(AS). Text like “Sab se Afzal Ibadat Imam Mehdi ka Intizar karna hay” and others actually occupied many walls of the Karachi. No muslim can deny that Imam Mahdi would come in this world before Qayamah but why the heck one needs to advertise it on walls? Acha this is not with shia group only, Suuni therik also came up with lame slogans on different walls which I don’t remember at the moment. Things are going on. Islam had become a very effective tool to promote different political ideas like this one; ‘Hazoor Akram(SAW) ney Ajrak Orh kar iski shaan me Izafa kia lehaza isey uniform ka hissa banaya jaye’. My mouth literally got opened when I read this statement near Khizra Masjid which is situated near Passport Office. The reason was not the association of Ajrak and The Prophet (SAW) Himself but was politics which was on based of Muhammad (SAW).Curse of Allah upon these people who use Islam for their own interest. For people who would be getting surprised that how The Prophet (SAW) wore Ajrak, it was found that few people from our region actually visited Saudi Arabia when they heard about new religion and they gave Ajrak as gift to the Prophet (SAW) which he actually liked. Since I am not sure so I wouldn’t give any statement of mine but one can confirm it easily by going thru authentic sources. This crap doesn’t stop here. Now many of you people would be hearing about issue of Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military award for Pakistan Army. The people, offcourse extreme sunni elements are demanding for Nishan-e-Siddiq and Nishan-e-Umar. Someone told these idiots that only reason for putting name Nishan-e-Haider was due to bravery of Hazrat Ali(RA) which he demonstrated in different battles ,infact the specific one after which he was called as Haider. It has nothing to do with Ali(RA) himself or shiaism at all.Ali(RA) is as respectable for us as Abu Bakr(RA) and Umar(RA). He was also called Asad (the lion). Why you idiots creating more and more differences between companions of Rasool (RA) by coming up things which was not part of Islam? Acha our shia bhais on other hand wouldn’t sit quiet. Now in city I see banners of Molud-e-Kaba,Ali (RA) that is birthday of Hazrat Ali(RA) is being celebrated. We the ignorant souls should spend few moments to study Quran and Hadith to learn that Islam doesn’t permit celebrating B’days in non-muslims manner!! Whether its Prophet (SAW)’s birth day or of Ali(RA). The same extremist elements also had demanded holidays on occasion of birth day of different companions of Muhammad (SAW).

First of all, Unlike Christianity and Judaism, Islam didn’t order to get a full day rest on sacred days. One should bother himself to read the last 7 to 8 lines of Surah Jummah in which Allah clearly instructs to close business during Jumma prayers only rather the whole day. I also don’t find any instance in Islamic history in which any companion of The Prophet (SAW) practiced a holiday.

I don’t know where we are heading to. At one side one cabal is willing to introduced alcohol legally while on other hand I see people coming up with their own cults in name of Islam. Such inventions called Bidat and Allah’s Apostle has cursed Bidatis. When I see all such things I get a feeling that God might send a separate Qayamat for Pakistanis.

In my opinion (and the opinion of many around the globe), the United States is at fault today for not using its powers of leadership to intervene — we are the only country who has any real influence over Israel (we sent them some $2.22 billion in military aid last year); Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora was in tears (as I have been, for days), appealing to the United States, Israel, and the members of the G8 summit to do something to restrain the Israeli army from targeting Lebanese civilians. And yet President Bush and his administration have tried to block the G-8’s plan to call for a ceasefire. Of the eight countries in the G-8 summit, he was the only head of state to oppose a peaceful resolution for both sides.

Fair enough!,not favoring anyside. We the people of other part can just come online to make online blog entries and get hits of other online users. How helpless we are.How helpless I am.

Israel-US love at stake?

Friday, August 11th, 2006

Israel has been cautious in Lebanon, fearing not only for the lives of its soldiers, but also that an overly aggressive military campaign will alienate world opinion and force its hand diplomatically at the UN. However, Israeli leaders ought to worry more about a different scenario, one in which American policymakers, analyzing the Israel Defense Forces’ failure to defeat Hezbollah after 30 days effort, lose their faith in Israel’s ability to “get the job done” on issues of shared strategic interest.

from Haaretz

There is no doubt that US will never like to see israel’s defeat and there will be an alternative move to save Israel by forcing so called diplomatic efforts or sending some troops to Israel. As we know that USA has given *time* to handle hizbollah guys but so far IDF is not able to grab Hizbollah’s neck. This uncertain situation also caused a sudden drop of support for Ehud.

One should be very clear that Hizbollah will never like to go for conventional war against Israel and Israel who claim to be expert of guerilla war has yet to do lots of things to takeover its enemy. If Hizbollah extend this war to a couple of weeks then it would be a great victory for them.

What keeps Hezbollah ‘live’ ?

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

Israeli soldiers have been shaken by the fighters’ skill and commitment, describing them as an army, not a rabble. “Even I have been surprised at the tenacity of these groups fighting in the villages,” Timur Goksel, who served with UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon from 1979 to 2003, said. “They have fought far beyond my expectations and they haven’t even committed all their fully experienced troops yet.”
