Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

9/11 WTC attack left its impact globally.London copied same plot recently and seems its getting popular among useless lovers(nakaam ashiq). According to this news:

Chinese state media say police have detained an Australian for threatening to blow up a flight bound for Australia, prompting an emergency landing in southern China.

Police detained an Australian man, originally from Hong Kong, and said he had made the threat over a failed love affair.

Hair did his part

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Yesterday was absolutely the dark day in the history of cricket when Pakistan forfeited the 4rth test against England. Inzimam, the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team called his players off the ground to register the protest against Australian Umpire Darrel Hair’s controversial decision of ball tempering. The decision is controversial because Hair couldn’t come up with single evidence yet that Pakistanis tricked with ball.

Ok we all know Darrell Hair and his controversial decisions against Asians teams like Pakistan, India and Srilanka.Even Inzy and his team and Pakistani officials were fully aware of it. The time when incident took place and Hair threw another card, Pakistan came into trap and did what actually Hair or whoever was with him had planned that is, Inzy lost his senses couldn’t react promptly when the ball was changed by Umpire. He didn’t demand any evidence on the spot due to whatever the reason. Like it or not, Hair was fully aware with Law 42.3 which actually states:

(d) In the event of any fielder changing the condition of the ball unfairly, as set out in (b) above, the umpires after consultation shall
(i) change the ball forthwith. It shall be for the umpires to decide on the replacement ball, which shall, in their opinion, have had wear comparable with that which the previous ball had received immediately prior to the contravention

(ii) inform the batsmen that the ball has been changed.(iii) award 5 penalty runs to the batting side. See 17 below.(iv) inform the captain of the fielding side that the reason for the action was the unfair interference with the ball.

So Hair didn’t go against any cricket law. He informed to batsmen and awared 5 penalty runs to England and informed to Pakistani captain. Since umpire knew that he has no evidence and changing “surface” of the ball was not a solid evidence for a 54 overs old ball. He declared “cheated” to Pakistan which made Inzy mad. Instead of asking prove on the spot, inzy preferred to resume game which was the first and biggest blunder. The second blunder he did that he stayed in dressing room and here things do go against Hair that he didn’t consult Inzy as per law before giving any verdict against Pakistan.Later Hair declared England victorious. Our shahryar khan kept singing praises about England Team and ECB. Lets take a look at Law 21.3 about result of a match.

(b) If an umpire considers that an action by any player or players might constitute a refusal by either side to play then the umpires together shall ascertain the cause of the action. If they then decide together that this action does constitute a refusal to play by one side, they shall so inform the captain of that side. If the captain persists in the action the umpires shall award the match in accordance with (a)(ii) above.

So, if England was really with us and Pakistani team was being convinced by ECB in dressing room then England could ask his players to stay in dressing room then 21.3 was NOT applicable at all but England sent their batsmen immediately to secure their part and on other hand their manager kept showing ‘sympathy’ towards Pakistan. How soon have we forgotten East India company founders?

I will not blame Inzy at all, specially when there is issue of lack of communication due to his language. Once again Pakistan bureaucracy proved that they re inefficient to tackle such sensitive issues. Does it not reflect a minor demo of our foreign policy towards different worldly issues when we are accused of something and instead of responding properly; we either get agreed with them that yes we are guilty or we become so much emotional that we blindly take extreme decision which do appear in our favor and in favor of our Pakistani emotions but in reality they actually screw us back. Inzy who will face a 8 matches ban got fooled again by his own country men. I am just wondering about Zaheer Abbas. He was a veteran cricketer plus he writes article in papers, appeared so dumb infront of Shahryar and others that he actually OKed the lame decision of Inzy or whoever about not going in field?tsk tsk

Like it or not, Darrell was fully aware with the nature of Pakistanis, Pakistani officials and Inzimam. He knew that his few hot words can make Inzimam or his guys emotional. He kept all these things infront of him by giving a decision WITHIN law against Inzimam. Now I doubt that PCB could file case against Hair for giving false verdict against Pakistan, specially in presence of Malcom Speed, another Australian. Inzy, I feel sorry for you that you got victimized by our bureaucracy. Deal with it. This is not something new with us. Hope you will learn something after this incident.

A poet in me

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

There was a time when I used to call myself a Poet, well poet-like. This was the time when I was young(under 20) so like many I also had bacteria of “Love” stuff but you will be surprised that the first ever thing I actually wrote was not a ghazal but a Rubai about Karachi of that time and I was in 10th grade at that time. Don’t accept me as a genuine poet as I am not so many things are not balanced.

Yeh bhe Guzar Gaya hay Saal

Nafrat ney banaya muhabbat ko yarghamal

Kitnoun k ghar ujaray isney

Kitnoun ka karaya isnay wisaal

(Year 1993)

I actually wrote this in an Urdu essay and got 75% marks in Urdu which was not an easy thing at that time.

Later when I grew up and started experiencing different things, my interest in poetry increased more after getting addicted of jagjit singh, Mehdi Hasan and few more ghazal singers. I also got introduced with Gulzar and his poetry after listening songs of classical movie Aandhi. The trinity of Gulzar,RD Burman and Kishore really worked for me and I fell in love with his words which later made me to buy his book Chaand Pukhraaj Ka.

There was a time when I was a big fan of GIF.Now you would ask what is that GIF so my friends it’s not that famous image format but First character of (Ghalib, Iqbal and Faiz). These three guys were very different in writings and all of them actually mesmerized me by their words. Gulzar is big fan of Ghalib. How one can forget his efforts in form of famous drama Mirza Ghalib acted by Naseeruddin Shah?

Anyways if I remember, I have actually written 6 to 7 ghazals as yet and fortunately or unfortunately I have only one or two in my hand. I lost the original diary long time back. Later due to my good memory of that time I copied it in another diary which also lost somewhere last year. Now I only have a piece of paper of ancient times when I was actually trying to copy my crap from my mind to on paper. I say again, I am not a professional poet, call it a bathroom poetry, I wouldn’t mind but don’t dare to commit a sin by taking me a poet. One of my ghazal is given below:

Hey ek Ajab se Wahshat barpa merey khan-e-dil mey
Nahi hoti itni seemabi moj-e-darya mey bhe kabhi

Merey Khaaliq ney banai hur cheez ba maqsad yahan
Kion lag raha hey mujhe apna wajood bey mai nee abhi

Saans hey ya koi asmaan ka toota tara
Lag raha hey ye doob jaye gi abhi

Tapish-e-Ishq sard karday khursheed ko bhee
Dekha na meyne aysa dehakta huwa angara kabhi

Hojao ADNAN tayyar lambay safar k liye
Uth rahay hain haath alwidai salam k liye sabhi

The last one actually has a partial influence of Gulzar’s style and it’s incomplete and I think it will always be an incomplete ghazal.

Ao chalo phir se dhondain
Wo lamhay jo waqt se cut kar gir gaye thay

Jo dilatay thay ehsas apnay wajood ka
Jin ki tapish ab bhe dil mey mehsoos hoti hay
Jin ji dobti sansain mangti hain bheek apnay wajood ki

Ao chalo phir se dhoondain
Wo lafz jo kabhi naghma na ban sakay
Wo sur jo faza mey kabhi bikhray nahin
Wo awazain jo kabhi ki thak kar sochuki hain

(By me)

So that was all I had in my pocket. As I said earlier that such words only emerge if you are going thru something which I am not anymore Alhamdolillah therefore I don’t think I will try myself to waste few words on paper. It’s not a good idea at all. Yes I am still searching my diary which had my latest (2 years old) ghazals. Please pray that I find this diary otherwise it be a big loss for Urdu literature: D

By the way, does anyone agree with my theory that techies have much better understanding of literature than anyone else? :> No No I’m not including myself anyway. Its my experience with few engineers who have a good understand of poetry and stories.

We Control America

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

Almost everyone knows that America will never go against Israel. In my earlier post I highlited the points which making americans pissed about recent unsuccessful IDF activities but this doesn’t change the fact is america was hijacked long time back by Israel when America favored the establishment of Israel. How many of us are actually aware of following famous statment by Ariel Sharon:

every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don’t worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.

October 3, 2001
(IAP News)

I came across above statment an year back while was in discussion with few Americans and it actually made me surprised that how confident was Ariel that he didn’t care that it could create problems for Israel itself. His mates actually warned him for making such public statments. But Ariel is more aware than us about world’s attitude towards Jews.Isn’t he?

Many Americans don’t want to accept it or they are too ignorant to realise that Americans policies are actually made by Jews.

“The Israelis control the policy in the congress and the senate.”

– Senator Fullbright, Chair of Senate Foreign Relations Committee: 10/07/1973 on CBS’ “Face the Nation”.

Homeland Security or Offense?

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006

Mary rarely cries, and certainly not in public. When I asked her what was the matter, she tried to quell her tears and sobbed, “I’m sorry…it’s…they touched my breasts…and…” That’s all I heard. I marched up to the woman who’d been examining her and shouted, “What did you do to her?” Later I found out that in addition to touching her swollen breasts – to protect the American citizenry – the employee had asked that she lift up her shirt. Not behind a screen, not off to the side – no, right there, directly in front of the hundred or so passengers standing in line. And for you women who’ve been pregnant and worn maternity pants, you know how ridiculous those things look. “I felt like a clown,” my wife told me later. “On display for all these people, with the cotton panel on my pants and my stomach sticking out. When I sat down I just lost my composure and began to cry. That’s when you walked up.”

Something which is very shocking. Specially after recent London plane plot it would be more tightened offensive for muslims.

Haye us zood-e-pasheman ka pasheman hona

The Ministry of Defence is to seek pardons for more than 300 soldiers who were shot for military offences during World War I.
Defence Secretary Des Browne said he would be seeking a group pardon, approved by Parliament, for the men.

It is thought 306 British soldiers were shot for cowardice, desertion or other offences in the 1914-1918 war

Bashar speaks-We’ll liberate Golan Heights

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

I think this is the first time he appeared infront of press to give any statment about recent conflict. What I think he was waiting for the ‘results’ which are pretty much clear now;UN’s inteference and Ehud seems agreed to start dialogue about kidnapped soldiers. He says:

Syria and the resistance (referring to Hizbullah ) read the situation correctly in that we predicted the confrontation. There have been extensive preparations for the current battle. Our disagreement focused on the nature of the resistance. There were those who thought the resistance didn’t stand a chance in a time when satellites reveal everything, track everything down and can direct severe blows at the resistance, but the reality proved otherwise.

Talking about global hypocricy:

they intervene only when Israel is in pain; but when the Lebanese, Palestinians and others suffer – no one intervenes.

Talking about condi’s statment of New MiddleEast.

“The Middle East they (the Americans) aspire to … has become an illusion,” he said.

And he’s being thanked by lebanese:

“Without the support of our sister country Syria, we would not be able to achieve what we have achieved,” one woman screamed. The audience then broke into applause and shouts of “With our blood, with our soul, we redeem you, Oh Bashar!
