Yesterday i came across this by Nina Shea who criticized the syllabus of Saudi schools and colleges which according to her are preaching haterd towards non-Muslims,she has quoted quranic verses which according to her are not *moderate*,from the article:

an ideology of hatred toward Christians and Jews and Muslims who do not follow Wahhabi doctrine remains in this area of the public school system. The texts teach a dualistic vision, dividing the world into true believers of Islam (the “monotheists”) and unbelievers (the “polytheists” and “infidels”).

So what’s wrong in this categorization?Does she mean that bible does not categorize true or false followers?Let me quote one verse from bible:

If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, “You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord.” When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB).

According to this verse whoever claims false prophecy ,must be killed and according to Christian and jews belief,Muhammad(SAW) was not a Prophet.Will anyone claim here that Sunday schools skip this verse which appears to be violent towards non-bible followers that is Muslims ,hindus etc?

Hey what about this verse which tells readers that God is a violent personality(Godforbid)?

I will sweep away everything in all your land,” says the LORD. “I will sweep away both people and animals alike. Even the birds of the air and the fish in the sea will die. I will reduce the wicked to heaps of rubble, along with the rest of humanity,” says the LORD. “I will crush Judah and Jerusalem with my fist and destroy every last trace of their Baal worship. I will put an end to all the idolatrous priests, so that even the memory of them will disappear. For they go up to their roofs and bow to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the LORD, but then they worship Molech, too. So now I will destroy them! And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the LORD’s guidance or seek my blessings.” (Zephaniah 1:2-6 NLT).

According to this God of Bible is so violent that He would kill everyone on earth including Judah.Did nina bother to read this sick verse in Bible?

And why non-muslims get hurt with the word Infidel?Infidel is a person who rejects God and religions like Christianity,Islam and Judaism commonly use this term for non-followers of their religion.For instance I am an Infidel for Christianity and Judaism.So I dont think this term is offensive that Nina mentioned it in her article.

According to Nina

I dont believe in it and its not 1% true at all.Saudia doesn’t need to claim itself an Islamic authority at all because we muslims never got such signals from people of Saudia or Govt.Saudia is Holy only because It has two holy cities and most of famous Islamic celebrities were born there and It is hub of Islam.When its already a Hub then they dont need to make any effort to claim themselves as a Authentic Source in Islamic world.

If you talk about preaching,then for your info it is Pakistan which is the nucleus of Islamic teaching not Saudia and many groups travel across the gloabe for sake of preaching.Is preaching a bad thing?definitely not.

Nina quotes:

“It is forbidden for a Muslim to be a loyal friend to someone who does not believe in God and His Prophet, or someone who fights the religion of Islam.”

First of all Nina didn’t give reference of the verse here but i would sure quote verse here.

O you who have attained to faith! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies: they are but allies of one another and whoever of you allies himself with them becomes, verily, one of them; behold, God does not guide such evildoers. (5:51)

But Nina didnt look up the Quran which categorize after 6 verses that what Kind of non-muslims can’t be friends.Read below:Arabic Text is given here

O you who believe, do not befriend those among the recipients of previous scripture who mock and ridicule your religion, nor shall you befriend the disbelievers. You shall reverence GOD, if you are really believers.

Suppose i have a friend,say hes muslim too and we have spent good time together.I trust him blindly and dicuss my problem with him.One day he abuses my parents,now how should I react?Should I kiss him back?In first reaction,I am violent in nature i would fight him back otherwise i would quit the friendship.Will I be appreciated by other people if i carry on my friendship with him?

Thats all God says in Quran that you should not keep company of those who offend Islam.This verse doesnt give message that Islam forbids friendship with non-muslims.Here in particular verse,the word Aulia has been used which has several meanigs in Arabic,but general its taken as “ally”.

So what i was saying that Islam doesnt stop us mingling with non-muslims.I would like to quote an intresting Quranic verse here which non-muslims would not have bothered to

You will find that the worst enemies of the believers are the Jews and the idol worshipers. And you will find that the closest people in friendship to the believers are those who say, “We are Christian.” This is because they have priests and monks among them, and they are not arrogant(5:82).

Quran says that Chrisitans are closest ally of muslims other than Jews or Idol worshippers and believe me it is 100% right.Take example of Israel’s violence in middle east or India(let me be honest here rather pretending that there is Good relationship between India and Pakistan).

So did nina find this verse?I net NIna would never have read quran in her life and go thru details given in Quran otherwse she coudnt comeup with this old topic in her article.This is very old discussion and one can find easily google for particular topic for instance this one.

Aha,an intresting biblic verse for same topic that is befriending with other religion followers.

If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

According to this verse those family members who quit biblic religion must be killed.What would Nina say about this verse? *grin*

then she quotes:

“As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus.”

First of all i dont find reference here so not sure she quoted right or wrong.Even if it’s right then there should be no DOUBT that Children of Israel of that time that Jews were getting naugty enough and God actually punished them(Killing prophets like Zacriah and Jhon the Baptist is not something which God would like anyway) but there should be no doubt that its Islam made story.Read what bible says about these naugty Childern of Israel.

The LORD said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them.

I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they.”(Numbers:14:11-12)

not one of the men who saw my glory and the miraculous signs I performed in Egypt and in the desert but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times-

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. (Numbers:14:22-23)

Exodus(32:7-9)

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt.

They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’

I have seen these people,” the LORD said to Moses, “and they are a stiff-necked people.

But if the LORD brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt.” (Numbers 16:30)

Above biblic verse clearly indicate that Jews were punished and they were even kicked out of Holy land around 3,000 years back.And God was talking Moses(AS) to give them punishment and informing them what HE will do with them.Specially the last verse from Numbers in which its mentioned that earth opened mouth and swallowed them.I believe its linking of their transformation into apes because such term is commonly used in modern world as world as a pharse for people who get disappeared all of sudden for long time.Since they transformed into apes so ppl of Israel couldnot recognize them at all or they had quit that place.So nina should not be worried about the verse since it was referred in Bible too.

according to Nina

“They are the Jews, whom God has cursed and with whom He is so angry that He will never again be satisfied [with them].”

I already quoted bible as evidence that Jews were really punsihed rhat time by god.

Then she discusses about Jihad which was discussed many times by other authors.The central idea of her article was that Muslims cant have non muslims friends.I will end up my post with following two verses from Quran which tells who could be frienof muslims.

GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the equitable.(Quran 60:8)

GOD enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them. Those who befriend them are the transgressors. (Quran 60:9).

This kid was born in a middle class family who used to live in Nazimabad No.1 Karachi. One of the oldest and advanced area between 1960 and 70.He completed his matriculation in a private school in Nazimabad No.4.Unlike other kids he was not so social and kid-like, that is teasing parents for buying stuff like toys ,books etc. Like most of the families in Pakistan, this kid also spent his childhood among his close relatives in a joint family system and got a good chance to observe and understand the real faces of closed relation. Sounding bitter?,umm maybe.I am not gonna reveal details as I am not allowed to be so open in front of you.He’s like that,he never felt comfortable to share his things with others even his family members. When I asked him the reason behind it.He didn’t come up with some concrete answer and changed the topic by saying that his inner space is much bigger than the space which is above us and he could absorb infinite things inside.

When he crossed the first decade of his life, it came to his knowledge that he had an elder brother too which passed away 2 years before his own birth after spending few hours in this weird world. This kid got very upset at that time because he always wanted to have a elder brother and sister like his cousins. He does have a little sister but he used to feel odd that he is the eldest child. I think its natural and every elder child in home feels similarly. This child was very sensitive and hardly tried to ignore little things, therefore he often got into trouble and kept himself upset.Dont think that this kid was an isolated guy and never kept a company. He always had a big friends circle, from school to practical life but he never felt so closed that he could actually called the person a Trustworthy friend, a friend who could be trusted blindly. He was very romantic person too and started liking someone when he was 15. She was his neighbor and was merely 14 at that time or 13.When I asked him that how did it all happen and how sure he is that it’s a love. He smiled in reply and said that he felt like that because he used to feel happy when sees her. Well everyone says same thing when he or she starts liking someone. He told me that those were happiest days of his life and he enjoyed each and every bit of his life but I got surprised when he told that he never got chance to say the girl that he liked him. When I asked him the reason he said that he was a shy guy and once he tried to tell her but didn’t get courage. I tell you one thing more; it was not a single-sided story. :>.But these days passed soon and one day he found that the girl is leaving for US where her dad used to work. The teenager was very very upset. Due to his nature he couldn’t even share to someone else. So the day came when the girl left for Chicago.I am allowed to mention her name. Her name was Huma.His teenage love story’s happy moments lasted for 2 months only and she left for US in August. The most unbelievable thing for me was that he waited for her for 9 damn years (who knows, he is still waiting??).Huma wouldn’t have thought that someone would be waiting for her for such a long time.He had no resources to search her. When he started using Internet in 96,he asked his friends in Chicago about the girl of that name but alas ,he didn’t even know her complete name so nothing could be done. In 95,huma came back to Pakistan and visited her old house ppl.He was also there at that time but was not visible for her as he was at his friend’s home and he got a pleasant shock after seeing her but again, he was so dumb that he didn’t come out to see her atleast.He started believing in theory that she would have forgot him but it was like a shock when he saw that she was looking towards his house from her old home. His friend forced him to say her “Hi” but he couldn’t move his butt at all-Time is the biggest ointment. He got busy in studies as he had got admission in engineering university but he could not get rid of her thoughts and never missed any opportunity which could lead to her.Huma never appeared again after 95 and this kid seemed to move on. Things are changed a lot so this guy. He has gone thru many things in past 2 years which has changed him much. Now he has been trying hard to give happiness and luxuries to his family and has kept his own desires in store room of memory. This kid is very much successful in his practical life and he has fulfilled his parents dream that is to become an engineer. Its not like that he didn’t want to be an engineer but he had never dreamt for being a computer engineer and now he loves his work.
The reason I am sharing all this with you that today (15th may) is his 29th birth day and I asked him to share himself with me and my blog readers. He didn’t refuse me and told me his life story. I asked him that whether he has forgot his past? He honestly replied, “No”. He asked me to mention that He is very much thankful for the people who know him personally and also thank Huma for giving him happy moments in his life, he feels sorry that he couldn’t give anything to her but prays for her and her family.So Huma,if you are reading this blog please accept the wishes of the kid whom you know for 15 years.

This kid still exist on earth and working at one of the biggest and oldest ISP of Pakistan and right now writing ending lines of this post. Do I need to say more?

Ok first time I am introducing polling section in my blog.In my opinion,survey system is very effective to know the general trends.

My first poll is about an exercise which is considered very common among muslims.Why did I choose some religious issue,i ask why not?I like to talk about different issues and things in religion,whether its Islam or some other religion earth and I am not the only one who likes to discuss religion and learn new things in each discussion,this guy also loves to discuss his belief most of the time and I dont consider it bad.

So anyway,my first poll is about salat,a ritual prayer which is second pillar of Islam.Muslims offer salat at home as well as Masjid.

Its observed that different people say prayers for different purposes and some of them looks unpleasent but its a fact.I have tried to cover most of the reasons to offer prayers,if anyone is left,let me know in comments section.

Many of locals would be aware of lifting ban of Indian movies after 1965 war.The Indian delegation was visiting Pakistan for Akbar Khan’s movie Tajmahal in Pakistan in which Noor jehan ’s grand daughter Sonia Jehan performed as Mumtaz Begum.The thing went bad when Anchor Fakhar-e-Alam in premier of Taj mahal called Feroz khan,the elder bro of producer Akbar khan upon stage to have few words.Feroz Khan who was already drunked started saying unexpected things for Pakistan and Pakistanis.Though most of them were really true but feroz showed that he doesnt belong to good family background and had no manners how to represent a country.I would comment then one by one.

“I am a proud Indian. India is a secular country. Muslims there are making lot of progress. Our President is a Muslim, Prime Minister a Sikh. Pakistan was made in the name of Islam but look how the Muslims are killing each other,” Feroze Khan was quoted as saying during the premiere by the local daily ‘The Nation’

Is India really secular,a big endless debat but I have always doubt about secular status of India,when i see things like Gujrat riots,bombay riots,Babri Masjid destruction and recently ,a Muslim burnt live ,i dont like to believe that India is really a secular state,though Indian media tries its best to represent their hindu state as a Secular country.

He said further

“I have not come here on my own. I was invited to come. Our films are so powerful that your government could not stop them from long,” the daily reported.

So true,no doubt about that,don’t we die to watch Indian movies and listen Indian music?Its not bad to listen music of other countries,when we can watch movies by Speilberg,who is a conservative jew then why not Indian movies?but question here is that how people of that country react.Feroz is not the only Indian,majority of Indians think such stupid things that “Pakistanis watch our movies” “Pakistanis visit our cricket forums”(Referring cricbuzz) where Indians are used to say pakistans to leave the channels because its *their* website.LOL,Shouldn’t America ask Iranians and other enimies NOT to use Internet because Internet is an American Invention?But americans really dont go for such thing much.

It was time that our local channels learn from this incident and stop promoting Indian movies and drams in local channels and promote our local stuff,but they didnt learn a single lesson as yet.Sonia gandi said very true long time back that Inda dont need to se conventional weapons to fight with pakistan,since India already injected its culture in Pakistani society.Will we deny this fact?

While feroz embarrased Indian delegation,Mr bhatt tried to control the situation.

We all are extremely shocked with the incident and so were the police and other Pakistani officials. It was certainly not expected from Feroze,Mahesh Bhatt said.

On the other hand people like these feel proud on lame attitude of Feroz Khan.

What all i believe that its all drama to get attention of BJP so that Feroz could getinto politics,and i believed he got succeeded.Thankyou Feroz for showing us reality,we would like to welcome more people like Feroz so that they could reveal more about India and Indians .
