I am blessed as your are with a wonderful mother. Some people were not so lucky. Some people have mothers who were evil, selfish women. Those are the mothers who end up in the old age homes. Surely, there are some selfish children who put good parents in the homes, too. Just don't discount the fact that there are very bad parents in this world.

In your culture, these situations are more rare because the concept of family is paramount. In the US, the freedom of individual choices has become overly important and often overshadows family. This is why there are both bad children and bad parents. Some mothers decide they made a mistake and want to be "free" so they divorce their husbands and leave the children in his care (and vice-versa). I think old age homes are full of mothers as a result of this trend.

My father has passed away many years ago and he was the only child of my grandmother who lives in a nursing home. She has full-time medical needs that I cannot tend to (I work a full-time job and so does my mother). We tend to have small families in America, so often assisted care for our elders is our only choice.

It's just a different situation.

Peace.

Allah explains the love He has for his creature,he compared it with love of a mother that is,He(SWT) says that He loves us 70,000 times more than a mother.

Can u please tell me WHERE exactly in the Quran it says this. Or if its a Hadith can you give met the Exact reference....I don't think this is really authentic. I have been searching to find its authenticity and am yet to find it because this is a very common example we use
